Can't believe we're on a new thread already. Filling up so fast these days!

Brief summary:

Todd has finally left the dreadful Theo, (after he badly beat up Todd,) but Theo is not keen on leaving him alone (although he has been told to by the police.)

Carla and Lisa (Swain) are planning on getting married very shortly.

Carl has been trying to extort money out of Summer for information, as he knows Theo killed Billy. (Summer knows this now too as Theo cornered her in the shop and told her as much, threatening to 'bury her too.') Summer is - very sensibly - not giving Carl a penny until Theo is arrested!

The ghastly Megan (Trainer) seems to have vanished, so Sam is relatively safe for now, but Sam has been having hallucinations and keeps seeing Will there - coming at him - when Will is nowhere near. Toyah, Leanne, and Eva have tricked Megan into meeting her (by sending a text from the burner phone Megan gave Will, and pretending to be Will...) Not sure what they're going to do when they meet her!

Ben Driscoll has just found out the man he knew as dad is not his bio father, and Jim McDonald is actually his father (so he is.)

The effervescent Debbie is declining a little bit more by the week, but is still in fighting spirit, and is seeing Carl for the parasite he really is. The gorgeous Ronnie is always by her side. Carl has just decided to cause a flood in Debbie's hotel by leaving the taps running in one of the rooms, after she told him he was very difficult to love, and refused to let him have half the hotel after he threatened to report Ronnie to the police for hitting him.

Shona's annoying sister Jodie is causing trouble all over the place! She's stolen Lisa's police badge, and a girl she uses to be a nanny for has turned up. Jodie is not happy about this!

Probably a bit more is happening, but I'm sure it will come up soon. Smile

I am so disappointed in the writers killing Theo off. No justice for people at all. No finding the hidden cameras and recordings or trackers etc. Just kill yet another one off. All these abusers die. I know it’s just a soap though.

Open at your own risk but I don’t think there’s any spoilers. Just an interview about why Theo has been killed instead of going to court

https://www.digitalspy.com/soaps/coronation-street/a71186805/coronation-street-spoilers-james-cartwright-theo-exit-mystery/

Edited to say don’t open if you’re concerned about the title. I read it and couldn’t see spoilers but be careful

Not read the digital spy link yet, but I'm wondering if Theo's death has been accidental or even a suicide?

It reminds me of a story my mum tells me from her childhood. A local man who was a violent domestic abuser came home steaming and started on his wife who was washing the windows of their third floor tenement flat, he ran at her and somehow ended up out the window and fell to his death. Police arrived, knew what he was like, placed the bucket and chamois his wife had been using next to the body to show that there had been a 'terrible accident'.

Looks like my previous suggestion that George killed the dragon (Theo) on St George's Day may be right?

I agree, or alternatively Summer killed Theo and George will take the rap.

I do love how supportive they are of each other even though Todd was horrible to them all as well.
Carl looked in a bad way.
Still confused about Jodie , that message she left David was unhinged and why did she attack Sarah ?

TipsyPeachSnake · 02/05/2026 11:05

Was it definitely Ronnie that hurt Carl rather than rescued him? We didn’t see other person at garage. Could’ve been Kev or Abbie or Tyrone. Wouldn’t he need help getting him in the car? I think I’m going to have to watch episode again.

I’ve read digital spy link and it’s exactly why I didn’t want a court case for Theo. Besides, death is far greater punishment than a jail sentence. I much prefer abusers to be killed off rather than them spend time in prison.

Maybe Jodie attacked Sarah to make it look like those 2 heavies had returned & trashed place looking for her. Gets her off the hook and now Shona is frantically worried about her again thinking she is in danger

the80sweregreat · 02/05/2026 11:13

Ahh, makes sense re Sarah.
She thinks on her feet doesn’t she.

Kev,Abbie,Tyrone...or...Debbie. Ronnie is covering for her.

the80sweregreat · 02/05/2026 11:15

I hope David deletes that message from Jodie

Gingercar · 02/05/2026 11:17

In real life you’d immediately tell your spouse and show them the message. And tell them that Sarah had been telling Jodie off earlier.

We need to know where Summer is.
And Gary.

the80sweregreat · 02/05/2026 11:24

David does need to fess up to Shona.

Housewife2010 · 02/05/2026 11:25

I was surprised when David gave Sarah's middle name when he rang for an ambulance. He only ever calls her Sarah & I don't think even Gail or Audrey have used her middle name for years.

strugglingwithlife · 02/05/2026 11:27

Ok I just watched it and i could have sworn the dead person Betsey saw was Maggie? Didn't look like Theo at all! I will need to re watch

Ah, those were the days. Nowadays a woman is more likely to be charged with wasting police time when she so much as asks for help.

LesserSpottedCharacter · 02/05/2026 11:37

It's satisfying for the viewers, granted, and very likely a relief for the victim(s) (if we're talking RL) but it's an easy get out for the abuser. Perhaps easy is too flippant a word, but once they die that's it, whereas they'd have the lack of their usual control in prison and everything else that that brings. Depending on the person of course, some can deal with prison life easier than others.

AmusedMaker · 02/05/2026 11:38

loving the music they’ve been playing in recent episodes, really adds to the atmosphere and I hope they keep it going.

strugglingwithlife · 02/05/2026 11:38

Just re watched the end and can see now it was Theo. I don't know why it looked like Maggie to me the first time.

Is always assumed it was a double barrelled first name, but that no one used the second bit anymore.

I haven't read the digital spy link as I hate spoilers with a passion. But the fact that abusers nearly always seem to die in soaps is a cop out. It's not realistic. A long, drawn out court case would be far more believable.

zanahoria · 02/05/2026 11:44

I was beginning to think that Shona would be bashed by someone thinking she was Jody. I have never seen two adult siblings dress so much alike

Many cases would not even go to court but there would be an aftermath

In corrie abusers are magicked away
