Can't believe we're on a new thread already. Filling up so fast these days!

Brief summary:

Todd has finally left the dreadful Theo, (after he badly beat up Todd,) but Theo is not keen on leaving him alone (although he has been told to by the police.)

Carla and Lisa (Swain) are planning on getting married very shortly.

Carl has been trying to extort money out of Summer for information, as he knows Theo killed Billy. (Summer knows this now too as Theo cornered her in the shop and told her as much, threatening to 'bury her too.') Summer is - very sensibly - not giving Carl a penny until Theo is arrested!

The ghastly Megan (Trainer) seems to have vanished, so Sam is relatively safe for now, but Sam has been having hallucinations and keeps seeing Will there - coming at him - when Will is nowhere near. Toyah, Leanne, and Eva have tricked Megan into meeting her (by sending a text from the burner phone Megan gave Will, and pretending to be Will...) Not sure what they're going to do when they meet her!

Ben Driscoll has just found out the man he knew as dad is not his bio father, and Jim McDonald is actually his father (so he is.)

The effervescent Debbie is declining a little bit more by the week, but is still in fighting spirit, and is seeing Carl for the parasite he really is. The gorgeous Ronnie is always by her side. Carl has just decided to cause a flood in Debbie's hotel by leaving the taps running in one of the rooms, after she told him he was very difficult to love, and refused to let him have half the hotel after he threatened to report Ronnie to the police for hitting him.

Shona's annoying sister Jodie is causing trouble all over the place! She's stolen Lisa's police badge, and a girl she uses to be a nanny for has turned up. Jodie is not happy about this!

Probably a bit more is happening, but I'm sure it will come up soon. Smile

Mind if i join?

I don't actually care if Theo is killed off now. While I understand what you are all saying, I am satisfied that everyone finally knew what Todd had been suffering and saw Theo for who he is. As a viewer, the frustration was nobody seeing through Theo and what he was getting away with.

Just re watched the end and can see now it was Theo. I don't know why it looked like Maggie to me the first time.

Maggie was on the floor somewhere else.

AmusedMaker · 02/05/2026 12:15

Welcome to the thread OrangePieHigh 😊

Yeah I thought i saw her, when those girls saw her? For some reason I thought it was her Betsey found until I re watched. I know my eyes are bad but bloody hell!

PrincessScarlett · 02/05/2026 12:32

I'm glad for Todd that Theo is dead as I don't think Theo would ever let Todd be. But I'm sure Todd will be accused of his murder causing more trauma.

I think either Summer or Gary killed Theo. Perhaps Gary saw Summer's phone lying on the street under the flat window and rushed up to save her.

the80sweregreat · 02/05/2026 12:40

Why didn’t anybody ask about the scaffolding? Why was it there ?
Poor Betsy though , she never did get her night out.

I was surprised when David gave Sarah's middle name when he rang for an ambulance. He only ever calls her Sarah & I don't think even Gail or Audrey have used her middle name for years.

I've noticed in the last couple of episodes other people (can’t remember who) referred to her as Sarah Lou. Seems quite babyish to start calling her that again

the80sweregreat · 02/05/2026 12:47

David always looks a bit bemused by it all. I think that I feel the same at times! It’s hard to keep up with

JewelleryCat · 02/05/2026 12:49

@OrangePieHigh welcome 🙂

the80sweregreat · 02/05/2026 12:51

Those girls who found Maggie, I also thought it was Betsy as well. I get Shona and Jodie mixed up , the soap is doing my head in a bit! Lol
( plus trying to work out who is related to whom, but I have only come back to watching it since November time )

Lorrymum · 02/05/2026 12:58

Why was everyone stumbling around in the dark? When Sara went into Davids's she didn't put the light on. Surely the first thing any sane person would do.
Maggie and Megan standing on a dark walkway. Ronnie cleaning his car in near darkness. It didn't add any tension, just highly annoying.

the80sweregreat · 02/05/2026 13:00

It’s a rule in films as well as soaps. They never put the light on! Or the bulb goes.

HaddyAbrams · 02/05/2026 11:42

I haven't read the digital spy link as I hate spoilers with a passion. But the fact that abusers nearly always seem to die in soaps is a cop out. It's not realistic. A long, drawn out court case would be far more believable.

The link isn't a spoiler. The Theo actor explains why his character's death is better for the drama, rather than a long drawn out court case which would be rehashing Todd's torture. It doesn't give away any of the plot.

Yes, I agree, it's good that people can see what's been going on (although it would have been better if it had been a bit less pantomime on Theo's part). If only it was like that in RL - abusers so often set a narrative so that when they do eventually go the victim is left looking like the crazy ex, did it to her/himself or whatever.

LesserSpottedCharacter · 02/05/2026 14:09

I've just had a look at the Digital Spy thing. They lost me at "Coronation Street star James Cartwright". Star?? 😬

I thought that, I kept thinking why isn't anyone putting the lights on!

Same in movies they hear a noise and go down baseball bat in hand in total darkness madness! If anyone broke into my house all lights would be a blazing , me screaming like a banshee, DH shouting the place down whilst battering the fooker and dog barking like a good un 🤣

Deadringer · 02/05/2026 17:50

I also thought the dead body that Betsy found looked like Maggie. I am a bit confused with the timeline but perhaps Theo could have dropped the car on Carl? I hope it was Gary or someone from Theo's past that killed him, I dont want it to be one of the regular cast and I would hate to see George in particular going down for it.

Gingercar · 02/05/2026 18:02

George is in the saintly category with Roy - shouldn’t be locked up!

I was shouting “put the blinking light on” at Sarah too. I think David has started saying Sarah Lou to belittle her.

It looked like Theo to me, besides I think they'll bring Finlay into the show, and Ben seeing Maggie push his Dad down the stairs.

1reason · 02/05/2026 19:06

Near the end, two women saw Maggie lying on the ground( near precinct).
Betsy then spotted Theo lying on the ground.
We have been aware for months that it was Betsy who found the ' murder victim'.
Hopefully more will become clear on Monday ( fear it could be a long haul).

DreamyJade · 02/05/2026 19:23

I can’t believe we all waited for the 23rd April and didn’t even find out who died. Then we were forced to wait an extra week and we’re still not sure. How much longer?

They got the whole Groundhog Day theme spot on!

Theo’s dead. We just don’t know how.

But is Carl? Is Maggie? etc

eggandonion · 02/05/2026 21:11

I hope Gary isn't wrongly accused. He is normally guilty but it would be a pity to be accused of something he didn't do...if he didn't
How can the make things so annoying...is it the over complications?
