We're well into Spring 2026 now. CORONATION STREET THREAD. **No spoilers please.**

Can't believe we're on a new thread already. Filling up so fast these days!

Brief summary:

Todd has finally left the dreadful Theo, (after he badly beat up Todd,) but Theo is not keen on leaving him alone (although he has been told to by the police.)

Carla and Lisa (Swain) are planning on getting married very shortly.

Carl has been trying to extort money out of Summer for information, as he knows Theo killed Billy. (Summer knows this now too as Theo cornered her in the shop and told her as much, threatening to 'bury her too.') Summer is - very sensibly - not giving Carl a penny until Theo is arrested!

The ghastly Megan (Trainer) seems to have vanished, so Sam is relatively safe for now, but Sam has been having hallucinations and keeps seeing Will there - coming at him - when Will is nowhere near. Toyah, Leanne, and Eva have tricked Megan into meeting her (by sending a text from the burner phone Megan gave Will, and pretending to be Will...) Not sure what they're going to do when they meet her!

Ben Driscoll has just found out the man he knew as dad is not his bio father, and Jim McDonald is actually his father (so he is.)

The effervescent Debbie is declining a little bit more by the week, but is still in fighting spirit, and is seeing Carl for the parasite he really is. The gorgeous Ronnie is always by her side. Carl has just decided to cause a flood in Debbie's hotel by leaving the taps running in one of the rooms, after she told him he was very difficult to love, and refused to let him have half the hotel after he threatened to report Ronnie to the police for hitting him.

Shona's annoying sister Jodie is causing trouble all over the place! She's stolen Lisa's police badge, and a girl she uses to be a nanny for has turned up. Jodie is not happy about this!

Probably a bit more is happening, but I'm sure it will come up soon.

Carl sometimes looks very sad like he can't help being bad because his childhood was lacking in love. He could reform but he could reform on a different soap.

Carl is believable. I’ve known a few people who like being the victim. Don’t blame me, I had it tough and so on when mostly it’s because they can’t help messing up and don’t see the other persons point of view.
( none of them have gone on to murder anyone, but you get my drift’ )

I couldn't stay engaged with last night's episode. So bored of this dragging on story.

I hope they keep Carl and bump Theo off.

Dh dips in and out of this and trying to explain that this week is last week was a bit difficult to get your head around!

Same here! Every day this week, it’s been “hang on, we’ve seen this one” as Carla rootles in her wedding bag for the factory keys.

Also, why would Carla have had the factory keys in her wedding day bag? 🤔

Carl is a decent villain but seems a bit of a waste to bring in the missing brother and make him a bad'un from the get go.

Even if they had to go down the tedious in law shagging route, they could have done it better if he had just slowly got to know his brother's wife who was closer to him in years. All the 'you know you want me' stuff made me gip

I watch on youtube and every bloody day I think I have the wrong one.

I also ponder Toyah and the van - how many dead bodies in the back? Beneath that concerned face she she does have form for killing.

Maybe Toyah has gone completely mad and doing all of it ! Meghan was the last straw for her.

So Carl is not the one found dead then? He was being driven away from the Street by Ronnie but it was in or around the Street that Betsy found the victim?

I would really like Carl to stay. I think he is a good character and actor who can show both good and bad sides. I’ve loved some of his sweeter moments, like dancing with Debbie. And I think he did genuinely care for her, wasn’t he going to admit to police that he was driving car until something happened to stop him? He is just so obsessed with money. Maybe his character needs some therapy for a turnaround as he clearly has issues. I feel sorry for him sometimes.

I’m going to watch today’s ep on ITVX now.

Does Toyah have a motive? She's not really related to Will and Sam seems closer to Leanne. So would she care enough to murder Megan? And has she had much to do with the others apart from serving them bottles of hose white and soup of the day?

Thinking ahead (and back to the flashback), Betsy said something like: “… but they didn’t deserve that”. Does she know anything about Jodie, Megan Trainer or Ma Driscoll and what they’ve done? She probably knows a bit about Carl and Theo and what they’ve been up to.

Move over Kit and Lisa, we’re on the case! (and likely to be more successful if previous sleuthing by them is anything to by)

We find out on Friday so we have two more days of guessing who it might be

Betsy would know about Theo because Lisa will have told everyone everything over breakfast. She knows that jodie is a bit grumpy because of the nannying coffee making scandal.
Has Carl been interviewed by Lisa and Kit? And Betsy would know about Meghan because Lisa likes to discuss police business. Mrs Doyle? Maybe Lauren told her everything about the Rovers?

Betsy will know about Megan. I think the whole street knows, but Lauren will have told her anyway.

I hope it’s Megan or Jodie. Possibly Megan because she has already been released without charge but there is no future for her on the street after what she’s done.

Carl is one of the better characters on the street he plays little boy lost very well.

He has an answer for everything ( & usually a pretty plausible one ) obviously trying to rip off his own sister/ mum is out of order, but Abbie shouting ‘you wreck lives’ is a bit rich coming from her, I mean, he didn’t force her at gunpoint to have an affair with him.
