The nit picking thing is probably ingrained in her culturally. It is so very normal to hear growing up that it's incredibly hard to shake it off as an adult. As children, we aren't taught to express feelings positively, but through negative comments as that's seen as an encouragement to do better, to show love and care. It's so fucked up but the vast majority of people don't even realise that such comments are toxic. It's also very, very, very hard mentality to grow out of and has to be done consciously constantly.

The 'It is not masculine to not want to go out' opinion sounds like it might be from her culture/upbringing. She is expecting a lot from a man if she has such fixed ideas like this.

That opinion is almost as bad as some of Tyson's views!

I think they are too. But anyone who has to use the word 'cunt' three times in a text is showing a lamentable lack of breadth of vocabulary, and I'm judging that. Once is fine, if merited....

Noted and true!

I said I thought Stella was too good to be true. You don’t joke about getting the snip with a man, even if he is late 30s. Especially in the early days of a relationship. Maybe it is cultural from Stella’s pov re masculine and going out but she didn’t need to actually say it out loud. Think where your words land.

Sadly it is. It is genuinely hard to explain just the kind of shit you hear all of the time that is just normal to hear. Then you move abroad, continue speaking in the same way and everyone looks at you all 😱😱😱😱😱😱😱

😂It's so true! Most of us have been brought up thinking everything was normal (and everybody else did/thought the same things) until you speak to other people and they do a 'WTF' face! Then you realise some of it is not normal at all!

Imagine how that conversation went.. "Felipe, I will have sex with you if you get the snip. If you loved me, you would do this. It's reversible, you know!" 😂

Felipe must have felt his balls shrivel when she said this!

Surely you realise after a few months or a year (unsure how long Stella has lived in Sydney) what is acceptable to say or not though? Cultural nuances? I guess it could take time to work out though. I worked with a Bosnian woman for a while, and she’d have the strangest phrases and views too and was quite outspoken and people sometimes misunderstood her meanings. Lovely person though!

He withdrew sex or they had less of it, Filip said it put him off (maybe not the snip part but other things). You should be shagging like rabbits at their stage! Totally uninhibited!

Gonnagetgoingreturnsagain · 21/04/2026 07:59

Just thought I’d leave this here. There’s a wrestler called Scotty 2 Hotty, I dated briefly a guy castled Scott and he jokingly called himself that. Could/should we apply this to our Scotty?! I did feel for him after Gia left, he was totally blindsided. Surely he had the measure of her then?

EdithBond · 21/04/2026 08:00

KittyHigham · 20/04/2026 21:45

The language of the texts is gross but the accusation is simply that Alyssa and David are "fake"
That was voiced openly by Gia and Bec and was addressed ages ago.
Was that before Juliette came in? She may not realise that it's not new information.

Yes, assume those texts are pre-Cruelliette, when Gia was getting pally with Bec (because Brook was on verge of going) and they were piling on Alissa. Bec was feeding them gossip from Adelaide about Alissa. Basically around the time of Brook’s shitshow at the DP (which ended in Brook revealing Danny fancied Gia - and Bec seeing the light with Gia). Bec was joining in the pile on before they turned on Danny/her.

So, old news, I reckon. But Gia just can’t help herself. And seems unaware of the simple logic that just because Bec can be vicious, doesn’t make her/Juliette any less mean.

What’s also lost on them is it’s mean to the subjects of the nastiness (Rachel/Steveo, Alissa/David) to repeat it (esp in public in front of them). How many times did Rachel have to hear ‘finger banging’ FFS! Yet Crueliette claimed this episode she was being ‘empathetic’ to Rachel. Delulu!

GertieLawrence · 21/04/2026 08:16

Columbidae · 20/04/2026 21:00

Oh no! Juliette mentioned Gia's manipulating!

This was my favourite bit of the series so far 😂 ”That’s why we planned this” pahahahahaha! Then cowardly Gia shat herself and legged it. If she’d have run any faster into that lift they’d have had to surgically remove her lips stuck to the far wall.

There’s something v wrong with Juliette though. Whatever she says, she delivers it with zero emotion. Ride or die/love love love Gia/okay yeah/pigdogc*t. Nothing there at all.

I thought Scott was going to beat his chest like a gorilla and say WHERE WOMAN GONE?

And talking of watches, saw Danny check his on the couch, probably wondering when his hell would be done.

Never bought all that performative lip smacking kissing from Stella and now it turns out she’s an arsehole too. At least Filip has more sense than to go wading without his wellies on.

EdithBond · 21/04/2026 08:17

Re Stella and Flip Flop, why, oh why, do they pair people who live that far away? Pairing someone from Sydney with someone from Melbourne is the equivalent of pairing people from London and Aberdeen/Nice! Even if one of them relocates to be with the other, they can’t simply pop home for the weekend to see friends/family.

When they say they’re struggling to meet the right person, they mean where they live: not a 10hr train ride away FFS! IMHO it’s cruel to encourage them to have feelings.

I think Stella knows it’s doomed for that reason. So, instead of talking to Flip Flop about it, she’s sabotaging. Never a good look.

EdithBond · 21/04/2026 08:25

@GertieLawrence 100%

That’s obvs why Gia legged it: because Crueliette revealed The Plan.

I fear it’s another hissy fit and (like Freddy Krueger) she’ll be back. Telling Silly Scott she’s booked a removal firm to shift her and her daughter into his place. And set up a direct debit from his account for her daughter’s school fees. Because he’s the step-daddy now.

MargoLivebetter · 21/04/2026 08:38

It was all a bit mad. Gia and Juliette continue to revolt me. What truly awful people. Gia is one of the most savagely manipulative people I've watched in a long time. She literally plays everyone.

Scott game across as Mr Dumbo. Gia has played him so well.

I had to go and make tea when Bec declared herself. My toes curled so hard that they marched themselves off to to the kettle.

I don't think Stella and Flipper are doomed. They always throw in a bit of a spanner wobble with the strong couple. I reckon that was it for them.

BIossomtoes · 21/04/2026 08:41

I’d go as far as to say that Gia has psychopathic tendencies. What an absolutely vile excuse for a human being.

It's so, so, so ingrained in you that unless you are constantly thinking about how something you say is going to be perceived, then no, you don't. I am more than 20 years in and still say things that raise eyebrows. Without even realising that someone would see it as rude.

A good easy example would be my child coming home being all happy at getting 80 out of 100 on a test. My initial reaction isn't "Amazing! Well done, I am so proud of you" it's "Where's the other 20? I don't care that others got less, why didn't you get more?".

That’s quite near by Australian standards

This is so boring now. Same old conversations day after day. In fact, they could save money next year by just binning off the weddings and chucking a crowd of strangers into a room with nibbles and shed loads of alcohol and just filming that. The marriages between the actual matched couples should be the main focus given its called 'Married at First Sight'. Rename it Get Pissed up and Fight.

agree @thenightsky . I feel like we have seen much less of the couples themselves in this series. The recaps are also so time consuming. It is as though they couldn't find enough camera operators to follow the couples, so they thought, let's just cheap out and use the camera guys we do have on the group get togethers. If we supply enough cheap vino, it will all kick off and there's our TV Gold!!!!!

It’s all so bad. I wonder if the producers hearts Wernt in it because they knew Mel was unwell? Because this is dire viewing. Which I’ll keep watching and see complaining

BippidyBoppety · 21/04/2026 11:03

That was a really unsatisfying watch, wasn't it.

I've taken to really disliking the Baby Buyer, he has a sneery look most of the time and lovely Colin deserves so much better.
Bec saying "I love you" was major cringe; how, living with the guy, she hasn't seen Danny is nowhere near anything like that. Yuk.
Joel - I still like him, he makes me think of Rylan in that OTT way of his. He's been done the dirty by the Producers/Ixperts in being teamed up with Juliette - name calling mare that she is, what was with that melt down calling him a pig and a dog? Was there major editing going on because she came across as completely bonkers.

Rachel still hanging on to Stevo, grabbing at him, holding him and physically smothering him - if roles were reversed and it was a bloke doing that, practically begging for intimacy, there'd be an outcry.

David seems lovely - which is probably why we see so little of him! I'm not convinced with Alissa.
Filip and Stella - the coil, love. Honest to goodness, there are options rather than invasive surgery.
Gia is vile and ugly, Scott is dim. How funny that all Gia's besties have legged it - fake in person, fake in friendships.

Been a really unsatisfying series, in fact.
