Thread 13. Here we go!

OP posts:
JellyBeanSpring25 · 16/04/2026 10:27

I think they all storm off for 20-mins to top up their intake (of whatever) before rejoining, all bouyed up!

ChickenOyster · 16/04/2026 10:29

At the start, I couldn’t stand contestant Mel. She has now paled into insignificance alongside this bunch of mean girls.

dotdotdotdash · 16/04/2026 10:34

Juliette and Bec were absolutely smashed at the end of that episode. Did anyone else here Joel trying to diffuse the atmosphere with a comment about croissants? And the teddy stuff; I thought he was funny and caring. And bless Stella standing between people and trying to keep the peace. Have a marshmallow lady!

dotdotdotdash · 16/04/2026 10:36

Gia and Juliette are so Ja'mie Private School Girl. Never seen such blatant and extravagant bitchery! Makes me want to go and watch that whole series again!

So quiche.

Interesting that the three meltdowns we've seen of Rachel have all been when she's had high expectations of a bit of nookie and then been severely disappointed.

First the honeymoon when she could have reasonably expected some form of romance which failed to materialise.

Then intimacy week when she asked for a proper kiss and that didn't happen either.

And now the retreat. Going into the retreat she was weirdly buzzing and excited. I wonder if Boat Boy got scared off and backed off a bit.

Maybe the constant rejection is sending her loopy and it's not really anything to do with what Bec said.

Piknik · 16/04/2026 10:54

For me Juliette is by far the worst. Gia is manipulative and vile, but occasionally says things which suggest a potential for sensitivity and emotional intelligence - even if you doesn't often apply it. Juliette is just nasty through and through. All she cares about is being on the side of what she perceives to be popular opinion, and she will take down anyone with any level low blow if she thinks she'll get a laugh or a nod of approval. She is so thick she doesn't even realise that she is just doing the dirty work for Gia who couldn't give two fucks about her.

Bec is more unhinged. She just cannot deliver her points rationally and without being aggressive. The faces she pulls, the sneering and the eye rolling don't help her either.

Rachel is getting on my tits. I think she has realised she doesn't have anything about her that attracts Steven, but because he is a decent bloke, he will respond to her 'trauma' so she is using it to manipulate him into being nice and making her feel like he's got her back.

Three cheers for Stella and her marshmallows

And I am going to say this now. I have been watching Scott and I don't think he is as stupid as he makes out. There have been several times when he has voiced opinions that I agree with and stepped in at dinner parties and things to say something kind or considered. I think he is in a PastaTitTrance and wants to be seen to be a 'good husband' by backing Gia always, but he sees what Gia is and he doesn't like it. I really hope he finally has enough and speaks his mind.

BIossomtoes · 16/04/2026 10:55

Joel is so desperate for fame/a woman/image that he would keep trying

But he wanted to leave. He’s only there because Juliette said stay. I don’t think he’s the desperate one.

Agree up to a point.

His ability to be civil - let alone kiss and cuddle with Juliette after the way she treated him - has slightly blown my mind a bit though.

Me too. It’s eye opening as well how easily “pussy whipped” (hate that expression) men are tho. If they’re getting it everything else doesn’t seem to matter.
He’s def uncomfortable tho w/stuff she does …

That's a good take on their relationship. Any kiss that Rachel and Steve share she lingers on for that second kiss, or (seen yesterday) holds his face so he has to give her another kiss. I've found her quite observant of other relationships in this, and I think she notices other peoples emotions, but boy is she needy. Steve seems a decent guy.

TinselAngel · 16/04/2026 12:20

Maybe Rachel is so upset because she didn’t actually get any fingering?

Note to self - don't read thread while eating ...

ChickenOyster · 16/04/2026 12:23

Rachel is very very insecure. I think she is so excited about being at the centre of girl drama for once in her life, that she is milking this for all it’s worth. And lapping up attention from spineless Steven.

As someone who has to manage a Rachel, managing is definitely harder

Definitely

If I had to manage our Rachel either she or I would have left by now. Probably her tbh as she would hate to be managed by me 😄

Had my share!

They’re the ones who say …walk a day in my shoes, I’m triggered, sob sob sob …but have no issues whatsoever asserting themselves to ask for whatever they need. Reminded me of Rachel last night, no problems fronting up to the nutter Bec when it suited.

I think he was genuinely scared she'd turn on him again! He should have been braver though.

ExtraPaddingForFallingOver · 16/04/2026 13:06

The whole Joel turnaround….I’d slightly warmed up to him over the CC, but it’s all bullshit, as @dapsnotplimsolls said ‘fake as!”

why don’t these women take a look at Stella, it doesn’t matter if you put a spangly frock on, have lips that look like kiddie armbands…..it’s about the whole package. If your attitude stinks and your leaky face looks like a smacked arse, who wants to be around that?

I wonder how many of the guys have looked at Philipe, thinking -you lucky bugger!

Seagroves · 16/04/2026 13:49

MargoLivebetter · 16/04/2026 09:01

I said at the beginning that I liked Rachel but I was worried she and Steven had victim mentality. Her behaviour at the retreat cemented in my mind that she has got stuck in victim mentality. She 100% chose to make herself a victim of Bec's stupid words, which she didn't need to do at all, but clearly couldn't help herself. Agree with all those who find Rachel's in the workplace so very tedious and draining.

Gia and Juliette (and Brooke) are the worst for me, because they are deliberately goady, mean, hurtful, unkind etc because they enjoy the power that it gives them. Of course it only gives them power if others step into their narrative (which is what Stella refused to do at that dinner party when Brooke was at her like a rabid dog) but that's not easy to do.

Still think this should be compulsory viewing for teenagers! So much to learn about what toxic behaviour looks like.😂

I watch with my teens for ‘educational purposes’! We have great discussions about what constitutes a healthy relationship. 😂

Seagroves · 16/04/2026 13:53

@murasaki shucks, you saw through it!

DeadBug · 16/04/2026 14:43

Oh good attitude. Instead of being really embarrassed that I'm watching this rubbish, I'm going to say I'm researching a nuanced psychological insight into modern dating and manners.
Dh just knows I like watching shit TV
