I was excited to watch this but my god it’s dire! Terrible acting all round.

daffodilandtulip · 15/04/2026 07:47

Agree the acting is very channel 5, I did expect better tbh.

Blankscreen · 15/04/2026 07:52

We're watching this.

The acting is so bad 😂 but we're kinda enjoying it and chuckling at certain bits.

Chiaseedling · 15/04/2026 07:54

Started it last night. Usual drivel from c5 but quite entertaining! I also thought there’s no way only one teacher would be on a school trip like that and there’s no safeguarding at all.
i also think there’s a kidnapping/she’s been drugged etc.
Who isnt dodgy 😂 the host family mum is awful.
Also annoying the have the ‘trailer’ at the end of the programme so you get spoilers.

Gloriia · 15/04/2026 09:07

Only seen ep 1, quite liked it, think we can all relate to that feeling of panic when phones go unanswered. Surely they wouldn't bother with exchange students living in that massive chateau. I'll watch second one later.

Bit distracted by Scanlon's fake posh I am not a Northerner accent. Very Sarah Lancashire and her Queen Mum accent that she uses for award speeches Grin.

Was he her father? I know she called him 'papa' when she came into the kitchen, but I thought that was a nickname/diminutive, As he was old enough to be her dad.

I don't think it was another exchange student, 8 thought they said it was a local?

That's her real voice...she's posh!

Her acting in this is so very poor.
She is admittedly quite young looking for her age but she's not convincing me as the mother of a 17 year old.

Recklessismymiddlename · 15/04/2026 20:03

I’m finding the mother really irritating. Pushing in and investigating everyone. Joanna Scanlon is usually good but not great in this. I think it’s Rupert Graves, he often plays a wrong’un.

Piggywaspushed · 15/04/2026 20:12

I think it's the police lady. But they all seem dodgy.

Joanna is behaving like Miss Marple.
