As we head towards the final stages, it's shopping TV up next - can the current bunch recreate the glory of James Max and the Wolf jacket? Will it be happy days or chuffin' hell?

The place for conversating about it all!

If your post to me was so inoffensive, why have mods deleted it then?

It’s easy to get posts deleted - you just have to say your offended or put a twist on it like you probably did instead of taking in manner Intended

I've just caught up on the final and found the whole "let's make a face mask" odd.
I thought Karishma had her product - some rosehip extract - then all of a sudden was slinging various ingredients in random amounts into an emollient base. Was the rosehip stuff in there too?
I'd also have preferred her to go totally down the road of "this worked for me" without the added "I'm a biomedical scientist" and "It's great to be back in the lab". The little bits of skincare knowledge she imparted are in any glossy magazine.
I've got a friend who's a consultant dermatologist (a real, qualified doctor who has worked for years in dermatology) and even they wouldn't claim to know "everything about skincare".
I guess Karishma's a good salesperson and that's ultimately the most important thing in this process.

But for her business to grow she needs more than one product. In previous series they’ve been encouraged to launch a ‘new’ product to show their business has the potential to grow.

I suspect Karishma was always planning on making a face mask and wasn’t just ‘throwing random ingredients in’ as she’d already planned it. She does already sell it on her website so it’s not a made-up product.

LaMarschallin · 19/04/2026 08:01

Oh right, @StudyinBlue .
I thought the point she was making during the post-presentation interview with LS was that it would simplify skincare having one product that tightens, brightens and fights (I think?).
However I took what @tnorfotkcab said on board and it made sense.
It certainly looked like she was randomly chucking stuff in to the mask, but maybe that was supposed to give the impression of brilliant scientist Karishma, back in the lab, creating a genius formula.
As I said, I'd have been much more impressed by more emphasis on her personal skincare journey - "This made a huge difference to me" - and her selling skills, rather than her scientific credentials which, imo, aren't her great strength.

IHeartMyTissues · 19/04/2026 09:49

My impression is that the creating of a new product and/or branding and ad campaign is purely and simply to make a 'task' of the final episode. I don't think it adds anything to Lord Sugar's decision making, and I certainly don't think there's any intention things created in that task will be used in the business going forward.

By that stage Sugar will know who he wants by instinct, and, as we know, he has approx 6 months between the final episode and announcement of the winner to get any research and behind the scenes due diligence completed.

When the new business launches properly it's going to be with an expertly-curated brand and products, not something thrown together in a couple of days by the people who didn't make it to the final 😆

Yes, I wondered about the sudden face mask thing too and nobody questioning how much all these ingredients were going to cost.

IHeartMyTissues · 19/04/2026 18:56

If you were seriously making a face mask for mass production, I can't imagine you'd chuck in anything that was 'natural' and 'good for skin' willy-nilly. Like you say, cost would be a huge factor, you'd need to know the market and price point first. And it must be the case that some ingredients complement each other, others cancel one another out or do the same thing.

Mind you, whenever you read independent reviews of skincare product, the 'experts' seem to conclude that Nivea or Aldi's own at £1.99 for a big tub is just as good as niche French product X at £300 for 20ml 😆

It’s clearly not real..don’t you think? Just
on timescales alone

Just like the tasks - they can’t be real
orders placed and real products than get made

IHeartMyTissues · 19/04/2026 19:18

You're right, they're not - the BBC have acknowledged that. A prototype is made but any orders are notional and it doesn't go into production.

Although there has been a case of someone launching a product created during a task afterwards - not the final, this guy didn't win the series, but he invented this along the way: ttps://www.digitalspy.com/tv/reality-tv/a289646/apprentice-philip-launches-body-rocka/

I wonder what they do with all the crap they buy when hunting for the ten items on a list or whatever

He developed this much later

What do we think about the new 6 part celebrity version that is being filmed?

Nosejobnelly · 21/04/2026 11:12

JMSA · 18/04/2026 17:02

Has anyone tried Karishma’s skincare product?

Yes, I’ve bought the Rosehip oil thing as I’ve got crappy skin and hope it helps. Only been using it for a few days so far. I put it in at night as it is literal oil and takes a while to absorb.
Was about £35 so thought I’d give it a go!

I quite enjoyed the Australian celeb version although TBF I didn’t know any of them anyway,

Best of luck with it! And if you wouldn’t mind keeping me posted on here, that’d be great 😁 Thanks for replying too x

I have no interest in celebrity versions of things. I'm not anti-celebrity - there are some celebs I like and take an interest in - but, whether it's a reality show or a quiz show, the celebs rarely take it very seriously and since they are already successful, or have been successful, even if they do take it seriously it is never going to be life changing for them, at best they will win a charity donation to a charity they genuinely care about. So I doubt I will watch, unless I am really desperate for something to fill my evenings 😄

I did too, with Ross Noble?

LaMarschallin · 22/04/2026 11:59

IHeartMyTissues

I have no interest in celebrity versions of things.

I feel the same for pretty much the same reasons and have given up on them.
Occasionally it makes a difference to the slebs, for example, Claire Sweeney going into musicals after singing on Big Brother, but they never seem to be held to the same standards and they're just there to get their fizzog on the box.
Celebrity University Challenge is a shambles, with everyone ignoring the presenter's pleas of "Hurry up!"; celebrity Mastermind is often plain embarrassing and the one episode of celebrity Masterchef I saw had Nancy Dell'Olio basically pouring a tin of tomatoes over some dried pasta.

That's right. Ross I remember was fizzing with ideas, most bad, but at least he tried :)

Dameputtingonabraveface · 26/04/2026 23:36

@OccasionalHope and
@socialdilemmawhattodo

totally loved the Australian versions, perfect light weight and funny TV. Of course knew Ross Noble, but also Shaynna Blaze, because 'The Block'. This programme is one of my guilty pleasures. Shaynna was famously lablled -the bogan from* *Wantirna' by one (awful) contestant. Prime have some old series.
