It has been confirmed that the first episode of The Capture (https://www.radiotimes.com/tv/drama/the-capture-season-3-trailer-newsupdate/) season 3 will launch on BBC iPlayer at 6am on Sunday 8 March, before airing on BBC One at 9pm that evening.

Rather than all the episodes being made available at once on iPlayer, each new instalment will then arrive weekly on Sundays - meaning the finale is expected to air on Sunday 12 April.

😛😛😛😛 to you bingers - this is how good tv should be shown

The weekly anticipation like Line of duty and Happy Valley was

Blondes does happy dance as means hopefully be no spoilers - wouldn’t that be nice for once !! 😀😀😀😀

Holliday Grainger returns as Rachel Carey in the third season of BBC thriller The Capture (https://www.playpilot.com/show/the-capture-2019), with Rachel now dealing with a "brutal" act of terror and a high-stakes geopolitical crisis.

As seen in an adrenaline-filled extended trailer (https://www.digitalspy.com/tv/a70218127/the-capture-season-3-trailer/), season 3 sees Rachel at the helm of the Counter Terrorism Command as Acting Commander.

other stars joining Carey for round three of The Capture (https://www.digitalspy.com/tv/a69948383/the-capture-season-3-first-look/), including Game of Thrones' Indira Varma as Khadija Khan and Paapa Essiedu as MP Isaac Turner.

Season 3 also stars Tessa Wong as DC Chloe Tan, Lia Williams as Gemma Garland, Ginny Holder as DI Nadia Latif, Nigel Lindsay as DCI Tom Kendricks, Daisy Waterstone as Abigail.

Rounding out the cast for this season are Hugh Quarshie as Commissioner Cameron Yates, plus Broadchurch's Andrew Buchan, Game of Thrones' Joe Dempsie, Kaos star Killian Scott, and Good Omens' Jonathan Aris.

As Isaac suggests hiring Rachel as Commander of CTD is the best way for the department to "clean up its act", she's confident that the newly rolled-out Operation Veritas, a surveillance system aimed to detect deepfakes in real time, will restore public trust in the institutions.

After a shooting takes place in central London, Rachel realises she's the only one who's seen the attacker. When footage of the incident is released, she is stunned when she doesn't recognise the man, realising the video has been altered with Correction, the covert manipulation programme uncovered in previous seasons.

But the shooting derails the plan, with Rachel desperate to find out the truth and who's behind the attack.

Bloody hell

Blondeshavemorefun · 22/03/2026 22:01

Thank go I can chat about it now 😂😂😂

Oh wow. I was how the hell did he escape that. Does he have a twin.

Then you see the flashback and wow he can kick arse

What is the chest thing and his phone

Frank is dead. That’s a shame as I was getting to like him

So we def know he’s a baddie as shot .killed 6 people in a few mins

Obv cash and rabbit know they can listen via phones and why did the loud music trick

Also the man following him could be a little more subtle

And lovely to see Kent and Dungeness

Tho we are half way and we still don’t know. How this will end esp now frank is dead

Didn't enjoy that episode after 2 great ones. Confusing and the torture noises were just too loud and irritating for the viewer. Hope it is better next week.

Agree. It wasn’t as good as previous two - last 10 minutes was pretty thrilling though. I think we thought he had a twin too, but obviously not!

Blondeshavemorefun · 22/03/2026 22:09

I think the torture was to show that you can’t break him

The fact he knew Frank by name and basically how he obliterated all of them in minutes would suggest something like MI6 potentially - you don’t get to know someone in the CIA for no reason….

especially as Frank said, you were a nobody and now you are Commander of SO15

MabelMoo23 · 22/03/2026 22:17

But yes the torture scenes did make me very uncomfortable

purpleme12 · 22/03/2026 22:18

I am a bit scared for Rachel

curlyrebel · 22/03/2026 22:20

What an ending to that episode! I felt sorry for him with the torture especially because of his heart but then you saw she probably has the right guy. I wonder if his job is to bring Rachel down. The other guy they’ve arrested is surely a distraction.

lazymum99 · 22/03/2026 22:20

That high pitched sound played havoc with my hearing aids!! Had to turn the volume right down.

I hope that the storyline of the bloke shooting the boat migrants isn’t going to give some weirdo ideas

That was exactly what I said! This better not give someone ideas.

TheApocalypticiansApprentice · 22/03/2026 22:27

The thing is - it’s now strayed awfully far from the ‘Capture’ brief. This is more generic superhuman killing machine - which is considerably less intriguing (though still entertaining).

I guess we just have to assume this new story will tie in with the original premise over the next three (?) episodes.

Pinkfluffypencilcase · 22/03/2026 22:28

The torture scenes were dull. Too many of them.

Is he a cyborg?? Frank’s face changed when he saw Pierson regenerating himself with the phone.

purpleme12 · 22/03/2026 22:30

I didn't think they were dull I found them uncomfortable

mumofoneAloneandwell · 22/03/2026 22:38

I know he's meant to be like a superspy

But killing 6 men on his own, after his heart almost stopped was a bit much 😫😫

Still, hes so hot to me now
