It has been confirmed that the first episode of The Capture (https://www.radiotimes.com/tv/drama/the-capture-season-3-trailer-newsupdate/) season 3 will launch on BBC iPlayer at 6am on Sunday 8 March, before airing on BBC One at 9pm that evening.

Rather than all the episodes being made available at once on iPlayer, each new instalment will then arrive weekly on Sundays - meaning the finale is expected to air on Sunday 12 April.

😛😛😛😛 to you bingers - this is how good tv should be shown

The weekly anticipation like Line of duty and Happy Valley was

Blondes does happy dance as means hopefully be no spoilers - wouldn’t that be nice for once !! 😀😀😀😀

Holliday Grainger returns as Rachel Carey in the third season of BBC thriller The Capture (https://www.playpilot.com/show/the-capture-2019), with Rachel now dealing with a "brutal" act of terror and a high-stakes geopolitical crisis.

As seen in an adrenaline-filled extended trailer (https://www.digitalspy.com/tv/a70218127/the-capture-season-3-trailer/), season 3 sees Rachel at the helm of the Counter Terrorism Command as Acting Commander.

other stars joining Carey for round three of The Capture (https://www.digitalspy.com/tv/a69948383/the-capture-season-3-first-look/), including Game of Thrones' Indira Varma as Khadija Khan and Paapa Essiedu as MP Isaac Turner.

Season 3 also stars Tessa Wong as DC Chloe Tan, Lia Williams as Gemma Garland, Ginny Holder as DI Nadia Latif, Nigel Lindsay as DCI Tom Kendricks, Daisy Waterstone as Abigail.

Rounding out the cast for this season are Hugh Quarshie as Commissioner Cameron Yates, plus Broadchurch's Andrew Buchan, Game of Thrones' Joe Dempsie, Kaos star Killian Scott, and Good Omens' Jonathan Aris.

As Isaac suggests hiring Rachel as Commander of CTD is the best way for the department to "clean up its act", she's confident that the newly rolled-out Operation Veritas, a surveillance system aimed to detect deepfakes in real time, will restore public trust in the institutions.

After a shooting takes place in central London, Rachel realises she's the only one who's seen the attacker. When footage of the incident is released, she is stunned when she doesn't recognise the man, realising the video has been altered with Correction, the covert manipulation programme uncovered in previous seasons.

But the shooting derails the plan, with Rachel desperate to find out the truth and who's behind the attack.

I can barely get up now that ive got a cold - stick a million volts through me, i can guarantee you the only thing i'm good for is a long lay down

That was too much and ruins a very believable story

Agree that Chris from skins is also scary and will definitely give psychos ideas

I reckon we're not far away from the far right camping at calais anyway

No idea where the story is going atp but will watch next week

The torture scenes were dull. Too many of them.

Is he a cyborg?? Frank’s face changed when he saw Pierson regenerating himself with the phone.

I don't know what happened in that bit! I think we're deffo meant to think something shifted though.

Overall, I think it's picked up from the first ep which I found pretty boring.

BUT...I think Holliday Grainger is a bit one-note, if I'm honest, and I'm not at all impressed with the Noah character - it's almost like they hunted down someone with those eyebrows just to give him the look of A Man With Secrets. He's done SO MUCH smirking at CCTV cameras it's getting a bit silly now. Agree with a previous poster that the whole appointment of him as Commander doesn't seem realistic - they just couldn't appoint an unknown to that role. They just couldn't! So what are we supposed to think?.it's also pretty inconceivable that were meant to believe he wasn't unbelievably thoroughly vetted to be HEAD OF COUNTER-TERRORISM, and that Rachel just had to do twenty mins more vetting to really make it kosher?!

I like Tom, and I think Lia Williams' character works. Also like the other Ops Room characters, who seem fairly believable.

I was sort of amazed they killed off Papaa Essiedu and I still think there's a chance that was staged and they'll bring him back (I KNOW...).

I'm not that bothered to see the back of Frank.

Endgame-wise I really don't know but I suspect we'll see some high ranking posho Minister sooner or later (Charles Dance type) who walks Rachel up and down the corridors of power and warns her to keep her pretty little nose out of things, if she knows what's good for her.

TheApocalypticiansApprentice · 22/03/2026 22:46

That will absolutely happen!

Pinkfluffypencilcase · 22/03/2026 22:48

Sooo what do we know about Noah:

He shot isaac
(or did he)
He has some weird pacemaker implant (I’m due to get one and I hope it’s heart shaped but I know it’s not) which he can super humanly revive
He didn’t exist 2 years ago (according to frank) - in which case how did he pass vetting? Arent you supposed to get someone who’s known you for ten years?

SerpentQueen · 22/03/2026 23:02

Anyone else find the sound quality on this episode rubbish?. At normal volume on my TV the dialogue was barely audible, but the torture noises over loud, so I had to keep turning it up and down. Very annoying!

deeahgwitch · 22/03/2026 23:11

I lowered the volume and had subtitles on.
I’m finding it a bit unbelievable
The top guy goes missing for how long and nobody wonders where he is ??
Surely he would have been vetted ???

purpleme12 · 22/03/2026 23:13

You have to let go of reality a bit

LindorDoubleChoc · 23/03/2026 01:06

Too much gratuitous violence for me, this episode.

I suppose it's quite gripping that Rachel has deeply pissed the psycho off. Will watch next week but I don't feel truly captured (arf) by this storyline.

I thought the same. Kept thinking if you can make the torture noise so loud why can't ypu do the same with the dialogue, it was very annoying.

daffodilandtulip · 23/03/2026 07:48

I didn’t like frank but it does seem a bit mad that they got rid of one of the main characters. (I know not in screentime but in plot). Feels like it limits future series’s.

MabelMoo23 · 23/03/2026 09:08

I agree I was bit gutted about Frank - he was a key character and perfectly menacing - kind of exactly how you imagine longtime CIA to be

Blondeshavemorefun · 23/03/2026 12:52

Yes freak Is dead dead - shot same way as Isaac was

Would it be too insane to speculate about some sort of brain-altering drug programme plot twist where main characters think they're seeing X but actually it's sort of in-brain correction and they're actually seeing Y?! And we, the audience, are seeing what they see?...

We used subtitles- could barely hear the dialogue.

I think that's too insane yes!

Blondeshavemorefun · 23/03/2026 15:44

It must go higher. As in the her boss Rick from Holby cleared him - yet he’s only been in the system a few years as feel couldn’t find him easily

yet he knew who frank was

I'm going to keep an open mind, @purpleme12 😂

NeedToKnow101 · 23/03/2026 16:51

I hate torture scenes and I also think Frank was a great, wildly menacing, character, so it’s a shame he’s been killed. And yes to the volume; we were being tortured at home. I have subtitles on for all TV but did notice the sound quality was bad. The story has gone heavy on the propaganda too. That’s put me off a little.

deeahgwitch · 23/03/2026 17:25

Do you know what.
It’s all a bit daft 🙄

Judgejudysno1fan · 23/03/2026 18:39

purpleme12 · 20/03/2026 18:52

But she saw him in real life
And he's seeing her in real life in the warehouse

Im adamant to myself he has a twin brother. He's also very sleazy and annoying.

Judgejudysno1fan · 23/03/2026 18:44

Frank also looks like a grandpa sheep!

Judgejudysno1fan · 23/03/2026 18:44

Hang on, how did he free himself from.the other cable tie???

Think he took the knife off the man who cut his right hand - then his gun and shot them

or other way round
