It has been confirmed that the first episode of The Capture (https://www.radiotimes.com/tv/drama/the-capture-season-3-trailer-newsupdate/) season 3 will launch on BBC iPlayer at 6am on Sunday 8 March, before airing on BBC One at 9pm that evening.

Rather than all the episodes being made available at once on iPlayer, each new instalment will then arrive weekly on Sundays - meaning the finale is expected to air on Sunday 12 April.

😛😛😛😛 to you bingers - this is how good tv should be shown

The weekly anticipation like Line of duty and Happy Valley was

Blondes does happy dance as means hopefully be no spoilers - wouldn’t that be nice for once !! 😀😀😀😀

Holliday Grainger returns as Rachel Carey in the third season of BBC thriller The Capture (https://www.playpilot.com/show/the-capture-2019), with Rachel now dealing with a "brutal" act of terror and a high-stakes geopolitical crisis.

As seen in an adrenaline-filled extended trailer (https://www.digitalspy.com/tv/a70218127/the-capture-season-3-trailer/), season 3 sees Rachel at the helm of the Counter Terrorism Command as Acting Commander.

other stars joining Carey for round three of The Capture (https://www.digitalspy.com/tv/a69948383/the-capture-season-3-first-look/), including Game of Thrones' Indira Varma as Khadija Khan and Paapa Essiedu as MP Isaac Turner.

Season 3 also stars Tessa Wong as DC Chloe Tan, Lia Williams as Gemma Garland, Ginny Holder as DI Nadia Latif, Nigel Lindsay as DCI Tom Kendricks, Daisy Waterstone as Abigail.

Rounding out the cast for this season are Hugh Quarshie as Commissioner Cameron Yates, plus Broadchurch's Andrew Buchan, Game of Thrones' Joe Dempsie, Kaos star Killian Scott, and Good Omens' Jonathan Aris.

As Isaac suggests hiring Rachel as Commander of CTD is the best way for the department to "clean up its act", she's confident that the newly rolled-out Operation Veritas, a surveillance system aimed to detect deepfakes in real time, will restore public trust in the institutions.

After a shooting takes place in central London, Rachel realises she's the only one who's seen the attacker. When footage of the incident is released, she is stunned when she doesn't recognise the man, realising the video has been altered with Correction, the covert manipulation programme uncovered in previous seasons.

But the shooting derails the plan, with Rachel desperate to find out the truth and who's behind the attack.

Because they knew Walker was heading there and Simon said she'd shoot him?

Italiangreyhound · 13/04/2026 23:42

The pochahontus thing was so silly.

I think a lot of it did make sense in the end.

Sadly, I think instructions from AI could be coming.

Urgentbiscuitrequired · 14/04/2026 13:20

I did cringe at the pocahontas thing too. It was a bit of a jab at the younger generation, but it landed really badly and made no sense. I found it a bit cringey.

Dies anyone else get Maggie Thatcher vibes from Rachel?

deeahgwitch · 14/04/2026 19:26

No i didn’t get Margaret Thatcher vibes from Rachel at all @Urgentbiscuitrequired
I thought it was all a bit preposterous tbh.
When you see the fu*k up in world events at the moment 🙄

I thought the whole red haired woman on the truck was very clever.

I've only just watched this series, and cant say how disappointed I am.

It seems the moment series run out of ideas or forget what made them original revert to tired parodies of James Bond or Mission Impossible.

I can more than accept that some part of the British army is up to no good (didn't they try and depose Wilson or is that just a story), but silly superman stunts, endless shoot outs.

And right from the start how come the people in the hall who weren't watching via the internet on phones or whatever somehow didn't see the actual shooter.

Correct only happens via manipulation of images online. Or was everyone in the hall hypnotised to not see the real face of the assassin.

Maybe my memory has let me down, but I think at the least the first if not the second series was a bit more sophisticated than this.

Yes - but I have to concertrate as it is quite complicated.

Well to me.

Last 2 episodes tonight, and am quite open to the fact that it will end with some damp squib!

I’ve been watching that for the last few days, @IwantToRetire! Finished yesterday evening. It seemed a natural continuation of a broad-ish theme. (Can’t recall, but I may have been directed to it by one of those ‘If you enjoyed that, now watch this’ articles.)

The best thing about it was the cast - like an American ‘Dept Q’ ensemble of intriguing individuals in wonderful clothes. Won’t say any more, don’t want to spoil.

Yes concentrating for me isn’t always an easy task lol

Edited

Thanks for no spoilers. Will post on actual thread whether my concentration lasted the last 2 episodes.

Normally I can follow this sort of politics-crime-police-drama thing no bother, but I found this series really hard going - partly because of the violence/torture scenes which I only half-watched, and partly because I just did not care about a single character. I know it’s not about the feelz (and it’s refreshing not to have to wade through endless scenes of disintegrating marriages and drinking problems) but everyone was so cold, duplicitous, and/or pleased with themselves that I literally didn’t care what happened next.
