Can’t see a thread. Anyone watching?

OP posts:

I’m really not keen on Nick or Ben - they both seem to think they’re some kind of leaders.

Seems a lot more sex-segregated generally than the UK version. And a lot more tea and swearing, which is something the UK version was sadly lacking.

I think Oyin is really smart and hope she goes a long way. I also like Andrew and Paudie, but can’t see them getting that far. Although I love that Paudie saw off the other two traitors that were trying to get him out.

I also really like Siobhán as a host and love some of her outfits.

AlwaysRightISwear · 02/02/2026 22:58

I know Paudie wanted Andrew to join him but he's already got heat on him so can he last long, assuming he says yes.

I'm guessing he will recognise his dad's handwriting.

If I were Andrew I'd be well pissed off at being blackmailed into it. I really don't think Paudie is making a good decision there.

I don’t, but I can understand why he wants to recruit someone he trusts

AlwaysRightISwear · 02/02/2026 23:24

It's definitely more chaotic than the UK version but I rather like that.

And hopefully someone who can tell him to stop being such a bigmouth and drawing so much attention to himself all the time...

CocoChunnel · 02/02/2026 23:27

I much prefer the Irish traitors to the UK one.
The lower budget means the tasks are more cerebral which I like. Fucking hate the UK traitors and its 10 x "go and pull shit up a hill! Go and collect stuff by swimming in the Loch!" So boring. These games are interesting.

I like that they are all much less nicey nicey, its getting pretty tense. They do more talking, they're more psychological. Its just more interesting to watch.

I have noticed some big gender stuff you dont see on traitors UK though. A weird kind of "the girls" vibe. Girls vs boys mentality. Like a weird high school attitude. Is it cultural? I feel like there's a greater gender imbalance in the dynamic. At the casino, all the positive "who's the most...X" were awarded to the men. The two negative "who's the most...X" got allocated to two women of course.

Of course the man got the most bets on his capability and then fluffed every one of his 3 tasks and earned them no money. And the Black woman got no bets on her ability to bring home the bacon but did it on 2 of 3 tasks.

Can't believe they are making us wait until next week for the next chapter!!

CocoChunnel · 02/02/2026 23:30

I liked Nick until he suddenly went into full head honcho of a cult vibe. He was kinda scary, like you just know he would have been a head witch hunter back in the day.
Like sorry, was your strategy actually to feed faithfuls into the machine until you were ready to discard Katelyn? Guess thats a great strategy when youre a self designated ringleader.
Seriously who made him god?
Paudie massively fucked up. He should have seduced Nick: Nick basically hanged himself already by announcing he had been seduced pljs by "sowing chaos". Paudie missed his chance to obliterate Nick right there.

dimples76 · 02/02/2026 23:35

I was feeling a bit bored with the series (and fast forwarded through a lot of the earlier roundtable discussions) but episodes 5 and 6 were fab.

Don't think that Andrew is going to be happy with his Dad. Really hated the way Nick and Ben spoke to the rest of the group- they have done themselves no favours there.

Can anyone explain what Wil was saying to Kelley at the roundtable. Like her I could not understand why he was suspicious of her.

I definitely want one of the women to win - Oyin or Kelley for me too. But I think.that Kelley may well be murdered soon.

chisanunian · 03/02/2026 00:38

I still can't quite believe that nobody questioned the "Oh they asked me to be a traitor, I turned them down and ripped up the letter" speech.

Why did they all just assume his announcement was somehow 'proof' that he's a faithful? He could just as easily have been recruited and was bluffing. No suspicion fell on him whatsoever.

Lolights · 03/02/2026 00:44

I didn’t understand it either. He wasn’t being very clear. I feel he just felt he had to say someone so said her name but didn’t have much of a reason. Not keen on him.

Lolights · 03/02/2026 00:49

It was hilarious that Eammon and Katelyn wrote Paudie off and he’s still there while they’re gone.

Oyin is brilliant and her theory was bang on. She deserves to win.

I feel overall the faithfuls are much better at playing the game in Traitors Ireland than the faithfuls in the most recent season of UK Traitors.

NorWouldTilly · 03/02/2026 03:17

Yes, Oyin is in a different league to most of the rest of them.

So she’s sure to be murdered soon.

Wilkin said in his piece to camera that he’s a mathematician and so noticed that someone (Kelly) appeared to be deliberately getting the maths wrong in the task. But he didn’t communicate his thought well at the round table. And was wrong anyway. Beautiful casino suit.

CharlotteRumpling · 03/02/2026 07:38

So infuriating, that stupid game where all the men were praised for being good at missions/ funny/ clever. Ben really got a swollen head after that..Hope Paudie murders them all!

Allswellthatendswelll · 03/02/2026 07:53

Nick comes across as very superior and I didn't like how he hijacked things at the end of 6. I think Oyin may be clairvoyant!

CharlotteRumpling · 03/02/2026 08:00

Amy was rightly pissed off at the way the men took over.
Everybody seems so dour and angry on this show. I don't mind Andrew, out of the men.

Yes - I did think maybe that’s how it works in Ireland - men just assuming women will do as they say - and forget to tell them

I think that was a shit plan anyway - how ridiculous

Oh yes that's exactly how it works in Ireland no strong independent women here at all. 🙄

RipplePlease · 03/02/2026 08:36

Oyin for the win!
She’s been 100% spot on since episode 4.

Well in fairness there are heavy paternalistic vibes running through the dynamics on this show.
When Nick was holding court kn the sofa with his "village elders" menfolk cronies, berating them for not towing the line, the women just sat huddled there like chickens. Why didnt anyone pipe up and say "look mate dont you dare tell me how to play my game"?

NorWouldTilly · 03/02/2026 09:05

@RipplePlease - I was going to say ‘why on earth would the traitors leave her in, now they’ve seen how brilliant she is?’ - but of course, the two traitors she suspected have gone, and there’s no guarantee she’ll suss out any others, so maybe they’ll leave her alone. And she must have proved herself to the other faithful, so they have no reason to vote her out.

Maybe she could survive?

Though clever faithfuls rarely do.

Well in fairness I don't make broad sweeping statements about the UK population based on the UK traitors.

I can't say any more about the show because I don't want to give potential spoilers

Justfivemoreminutesplease · 03/02/2026 11:01

Why has episode 7 been deleted from daily motion… I can’t wait until Monday to watch it

I agree on Siobhan, she does a fab job on pottery throw down, warm and relatable, but I said up thread she seems to be trying to emulate Claudia and it’s coming across quite fake, like she’s playing a role. Shes not relaxed and it doesn’t come across as genuine. She needs to make it her own. Like Alan Cummings did in the USA version. She doesn’t need to play at being Claudia, it will never be a patch on the original.

im enjoying it but im not finding it a patch on the uk one right now.

This is spot on. Siobhan playing a role whereas Claudia is herself.

I do like how Pawdie's chaos frustrated Eamon's plot. Oyin is very perceptive. Would like to see her win.

ChoccyJules · 03/02/2026 11:09

Why did Jo waste her vote in episode 5? She seemed to be saying that it was a hot mess between Paudie and Eamon so she was just going to vote for a random faithful. I didn't understand why she just didn't pick one of them or go for someone she had doubts about.

Rictasmorticia · 03/02/2026 11:12

is Pauline hoping to win on his own. Knowing how much heat is on Andrew, surely a traitor would only recruit him for a fall guy
