flashman, just after the birth, when she's tired etc, get her to sign that she agrees your dc will be named 'red-dalek-supreme'

or Daleka Cyberina if it's a girl.

motherinferior · 01/07/2008 09:29

I knew I was properly in labour with DD1 when I couldn't concentrate on Buffy.

edam · 01/07/2008 10:08

Right, Flashman, if she does start having contractions on Saturday, stick persuade her into a warm bath - is meant to slow labour down. OR you could just set the video.

TinkerbellesMum · 01/07/2008 10:38

tell her it's better to do as much of labour as you can at home before going into hospital, so waiting til 7:45 would be better for her

Rather than set the video you could just watch iplayer.

But you know not many of us will have sympathy if she doesn't even like Doctor Who!

edam · 01/07/2008 10:49

No, don't rely on iplayer, the BBC sometimes take AGES to put episodes up and I still couldn't get the full-length confidential yesterday.

TinkerbellesMum · 01/07/2008 11:03

That's strange, I missed some of it so watched it as soon as it had finished. I linked to it on here Saturday or Sunday. It's a lot quicker than Virgin's catch up service.

edam · 01/07/2008 13:30

It was the previous week it took them ages to put the actual episode on iplayer. This week it was Confidential that wasn't there.

wuzzlefraggle · 01/07/2008 13:50

I read an article a while back about the possibility of Robert Carlyle being the new doctor...anyone else hear that...

wuzzlefraggle · 01/07/2008 13:50

well, read that lol

PersephoneSnape · 01/07/2008 14:11

i think the bbc missed an ideal opportunity for a 'best of the bbc' trailer where they could regenerate ten into any number of bbc celebrities, tehn regenerate emmidiately into another actor, before leaving the 'final' regeneration witha question mark. would trail the series finale and give a good woosh through the beebs roster.
make the first one or two believeable and then go silly - eg,

DT>Richard E Grant>bloke from two pints of lager>bobby ball>peter kay>Ronnie corbett>??

TinkerbellesMum · 01/07/2008 14:18

Rowan Atkinson, Richard E. Grant, Jim Broadbent, Hugh Grant and Joanna Lumley?

If they did all the previous Doctors, would they do McGann?

TinkerbellesMum · 01/07/2008 14:22

Something interesting I just found...

There were 3 9th doctors: Rowan Atkinson, Richard E Grant and Christopher Ecclestone. Could this explain the threefold man?

KayHarker · 01/07/2008 14:23

All sorts of names keep being bandied about. I think it's scattershot - if they name everyone they can possibly think of, on a regular basis, they're bound to get it right at some point.

PersephoneSnape · 01/07/2008 14:56

mcGann is canon - he's in the diary/book of incredible things/whatever it's called in Family of Blood. he's definitely the 8th. Cushing isn't canon though

loved the rowan atkinson thing - you can still get it on youtube etc.

TinkerbellesMum · 01/07/2008 15:04

The reason I said would they include him is because it was made by the Americans, so do BBC own the rights to him to be able to include him in something like that?

TinkerbellesMum · 01/07/2008 15:05

Also love Curse of the Fatal Death, that was brilliant!

Chamomile · 01/07/2008 15:10

Why have all the small boys round here become convinced it's Russell Brand? Where did that rumour come from?

UnquietDad · 01/07/2008 15:37

If it's Russell Fecking Brand I'm off to put my head in the blender.

PersephoneSnape · 01/07/2008 15:54

aah right - eigth doctor, i think was shown on fox, but made by bbc worldwide, possibly in conjunction with fox or canadian BC.

haven't got time to wade through all of this to proove myself wrong though

wiki clicky

Chamomile · 01/07/2008 15:57

Was there some spoof story or something on CBBC yesterday?(grasping at straws) My 2 boys both at different schools came home bursting with the news.

edam · 01/07/2008 16:46

What spoof story, chamomile?

Flashman · 01/07/2008 17:06

Please No, not Russel Brand - I would rather take a huge kick into the balls!! The pain would be over quicker!!!

TinkerbellesMum · 01/07/2008 17:19

Russel and Catherine Tate? Maybe for Comic Relief? Another Curse of the Fatal Death, for real it may really be Curse of the Fatal Death!

Jacanne · 01/07/2008 18:07

When I was watching Dr Who on Sunday my dd1 came downstairs to say goodnight (again) so I paused it (as she's easily scared) and she said "Are those the garlics?"

Katisha · 01/07/2008 19:00

Yes - we always have "dalek bread" when we're at Pizza Express.
