Oh Holy Crap!

Roll on Saturday....

Ses15 · 25/06/2008 15:02

WOW!!!! I've just watched that clip!!! I know what you mean about shivers!!! I can't wait

gizmo · 25/06/2008 15:04

My God, Aitch, you're right! I was wondering why he looked so familiar.

Bloody hell that man was one of my earliest crushes. And he has aged well....oh yeah oh yeah...

I really hope that i am not disappointed, the trailer looks fab

I was a bit disappointed at last weeks. It wasn't the story i thought it could have been, although Catherine Tate was fab.

I've got such high hopes for these next two episodes that i think that they will inevitably be a bit of a letdown - and i just know that the Doctor and Rose won't ride off into the sunset sob

I am such a sad act

UnquietDad · 25/06/2008 16:49

I wonder if Davros will recognise Sarah-Jane, or if all "human females" look the same to him?!

here is what happened the first time they met... in quite possibly the best amateur trailer I've seen for a Who story...

(Starts about 34 seconds in - the rest is the end of the previous episode.)

KayHarker · 25/06/2008 16:58

I get a big girly lump in my throat at Sarah-Jane's reaction.

And that is indeed Dempsey. Stupid story - I had a Dempsey and Makepeace poster on my wall when I was younger, but I got freaked out by the eyes following me everywhere. So, for some unknown reason, I decided to put stickers over their eyes.

Which, obviously just looked silly and didn't really help, because now they had teddy-bear eyes which was even more freaky.

So, I took the stickers off. Which was even worse because now I had a poster on my wall of two people with no eyes at all.

I threw the poster in the bin

no, this has nothing to do with Doctor Who, I'm just trying to make conversation without spoilers

Kay - PMSL at your story and PMSL at making conversation without spoilers!!

I don't know how everyone keeps up with all the links between episodes, series, etc. I know I don't so find this thread really informative (as well as entertaining!)

JackieNo · 26/06/2008 08:04

Can I just throw in the theory that you don't have a 'big name' in a series without their turning out to be a major character, and wonder whether Bernard Cribbins is quite a big enough name these days to qualify?

JackieNo · 26/06/2008 08:05

(I know we've kind of moved on, but hey, it's been bugging me)

PersephoneSnape · 26/06/2008 09:05

bad Wilf? ;)

worth every penny!

RustyBear · 26/06/2008 15:31

JackieNo - that may be true of most series, but it hasn't traditionally been true of Dr Who - many celebrities have been on in minor parts - lots of them are willing to do anything just to be on Dr Who!

JacciiNo · 26/06/2008 15:33

Ah yes, good point (don't blame them, either). It's usually a sure-fire winner to find the murderer in most detective series.

KayHarker · 27/06/2008 17:56

Anyone see Dempsey Michael Brandon on Richard and Judy. I can't believe I had to sit through the train-wreck that is Richard Madeley, but what an awesome clip they showed!

I'm stupidly excited now.

OP posts:
PortAndLemon · 27/06/2008 17:58

Bernard Cribbins is already a fanboy gesture, though, as he was in one of the Peter Cushing Doctor Who movies.

PersephoneSnape · 28/06/2008 00:49

it's todaaaaaaaaay!

(no i didn't sit up especially to type this...)

squeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee...

serenity · 28/06/2008 01:01

We're having a BBQ I can't believe we've having a sodding BBQ. D'you think it would be impolite to get everyone to sit down and shut up at 7? Or I could lock them out for the duration, and hope noone notices?

I blame the MIL - if she'd gone away later in the year we could have trashed borrowed her house without it clashing. In fact, I blame the people getting married, whose invitation has caused her to be away now.....

I'm going to have to watch it on Sunday

KayHarker · 28/06/2008 13:15

no, serenity, that's..that's..it's just not right.

I am completely calm. I am serene.

+~##~+

Squeeeeeeeeeeeeee.

As you were, nothing to see here.

RustyBear · 28/06/2008 13:57

I have passed on going out to dinner tonight with DH & his Captain Scarlet friends (which is usually quite fun) because I don't want to wait till Sunday to watch it. Luckily they all understand what it's like to bed slightly weird about a TV programme.

I'm getting in the mood by listening to the music from the series 1 & 2 CD - the first part of the 'Doomsday' music is the epitome of 'haunting' music.

I am slightly disturbed by the fact that I can't stop humming 'Song for Ten' though - it's the kind of song I'd normally hate, but it just reminds me of the scene at the end of the Christmas special where DT was choosing his clothes.

KayHarker · 28/06/2008 14:11

Love it - I'm still reeling from the music in FotD - the mix of orchestral and electronica was so well done.

I for one, welcome our new Dalek overlords

OP posts:
JackieNo · 28/06/2008 14:29

I've got someone coming to pick up a cot this evening, that I put on Freecycle, and I had to specify in the email that they could come any time, as long as it didn't interrupt Doctor Who.

PersephoneSnape · 28/06/2008 14:56

i just watched casanova. i think i may have just a teeny tiny incy wincy, timey wimey thing for DT.

ugh! i am clearly a 13 year old hormonal teen trapped in the saggy body of a 40 year old grown up mother of three.

squuuuuuuuuuueee!

JackieNo · 28/06/2008 15:12

OH yes - Casanova's fab. Unfortunately mostly comedy sex, but some good romantic/yearning moments.

PersephoneSnape · 28/06/2008 15:21

even the comedy sex would do it for me at the moment!

i cried at the end. I'm crap.
