TV shows which just need to stop

Which once loved tv shows do you think have now gone on too long and have become boring, repetitive, predictable and tedious and just need to stop?

I’ll start:
Bake Off
The Apprentice
Call the Midwife

Most of them! I stopped watching bake off a while ago and strictly in the last couple of years.
I don’t think I ever watched talent shows like BGT, the voice etc. Also never watched or have interest in watching Love Island or anything with couples.

Funnily, I still enjoy the Apprentice - hate the contestants for the first few episodes but then I get hooked…

Pointless or mastermind are great for when you’re filling in your tax return.

All the game shows , the chase etc. Hate them!

Grand designs can never stop, they are always halfway through filming about 10 different houses being built at any one point in time!

I surprised no-one has mentioned Casualty which has apparently been commissioned for further series.

I'd like a moratorium on new quiz/game shows. I was reading out the Saturday TV schedule to my elderly Mum and it was it was quiz, quiz, quiz, repeat, quiz.....

It is a job creation scheme for ageing comedians.

And don't get me started on 'person who was only mildly interesting/amusing in the first place' doing a travel programme or worse, a travel programme on a train.

No one seems to make tv now to satisfy the viewer. It feels like a lot of other things in life, big corporations try to make as much money as then can for as little effort as possible, with no care for the people they are providing a service to, meanwhile giving Tv jobs to all their favourite pals in show business despite the viewers not really liking them. If you never left the house, you would think the world was a very small place as despite the millions of people in this country, only tiny handful of the same people appear constantly on our tvs in different shows and on different channels.

I think they should roll back to 3 or 4 channels which are only on until midnight, and give us quality viewing instead of stretching ideas and talent very thin and then repeating those poor ideas forever more

That should have never been commissioned in the first place what utter bollocks!

The One Show - although the consumer stuff is good the presenter led celeb interviews/couch is chaos and the theme tune a shrill horror.

The Apprentice - boring and irrelevant. I'm not sure it was ever any good.

Anything variant of the Yorkshire farm shows on Ch4. They are currently showing a trailer for one with a long title 'Our Farm next door. Amanda, Clive and Kids'. Amanda prances about in a barn with a crop top on. Even on Emmerdale they dress more realistically for up north.

I love Strictly! And Eastenders. If they ended either of them I’d have to chain myself to some kind of railings.

I wish they’d get rid of Jools Holland and have a half decent music show instead. It’s cringe.

It's interesting re Jools. I went off Later a while ago but he's been doing an hour long show on Radio 3 on Saturday mornings that's actually really good

NONE of them while they still have good viewing numbers as people still obviously enjoy them.

just DO something else or watch something else (as I do) if you don't enjoy them. I enjoyed S1 of strictly, but not after that. So stopped watching it, but plenty still love it!

Though if the Alan Carr/Amanda Holden rumour is true, that might well change. You couldn't pay me enough to watch it with those 2.
