Welcome to Thread 5 of Traitors 2026.

This thread runs at TV pace so do not read any further if you are not up to date with the live broadcast. Whilst most discussion will be on the current series, inevitably people will refer to previous series/players/winners so reader beware if you’ve not seen the 3 previous editions, or the celebrity version.

While we welcome posters discussing their theories and speculating on relationships/connections between players, please don’t post spoilers from elsewhere that may ruin things for those of us who like to see things unfold over the course of the series.

The story so far:

Traitors
Hugo
Rachel
Stephen
Fiona (Secret Traitor)

Murdered
Netty
Ben
Maz

Banished
Judy (Faithful)
Hugo (Traitor)
Ross (Faithful)
Amanda (Faithful)

Candidates for murder in Episode 6: Ellie, Faraaz, Jade, Matthew, Reece and Sam (Amanda was also a potential but was banished beforehand and Fiona and Stephen cannot be murdered).

The floor is yours…

I still don't get why Reece hasn't remembered Rachel and Stephen shoving him out of the way at the family tree. Though of course no one might believe it.

Just because we haven't seen him remembering doesn't mean he hasn't. He could have raised it in a piece to camera, or to another contestant, or not at all.

This is a highly edited show. We can't see everything, and more to the point, the editors decide not to show us certain things. Sometimes them not showing us things makes sense, and sometimes it doesn't. But the contestants discuss a lot more than we are shown.

CharlotteRumpling · 09/01/2026 15:23

In previous seasons, they have had the game" Who is the most sheeplike/ popular/ arrogant traitor?

Quite awkward.

xsquared · 09/01/2026 15:25

There's been at least 3 occasions that we know of, where people have requested to have a private chat with Amanda, and two of those have been with traitors.

If Fiona is banished because of last night, then Rachel is next, and hopefully this will jog Reece's memory about her and Stephen, so he will follow!

WhatAreYouDoingSundayBaby · 09/01/2026 15:26

I feel like the traitors have all been really short-sighted this season, eg Stephen murdering Ross after being one of just a few party to the conversation with Ben, and now Rachel telling everyone about Amanda being a detective so that they support her theories...when even if they do go with what Amanda said, they will then find out that Jade and Sam are faithfuls anyway, which could then throw heat back at Rachel?!

I actually do think Fiona has a point about Rachel, I don't think she is a team player with the rest of the traitors - not that she has to be, but she certainly makes a lot of unilateral decisions. Usually a traitor would have told the other 2 in the turret about Amanda and discussed possible consequences ahead of sharing it with the group, but she just came right out with it to give herself extra credibility. But Fiona would have done better to just be quietly wary of her, rather than approaching it as she did.

Genuinely found Amanda's over-confidence a bit scary in a former DCI.

Both Rachel and Fiona have screwed up IMO. Rachel's announcement about Amanda was baffling ("she's a trained detective, she was trying to help us") when Amanda was so self-evidently shite at the game. Fiona is a loose cannon- suspect the producers thought "let's get someone who is sweet and cuddly on the outside and a narcissistic nutjob on the inside- need to shake things up for s4".

I think people have an issue with Jade because she's pretty but not smiley, which is a combination that gives people the rage for some reason (misogyny).

I hope none of the current traitors win, they're all hopeless. I'd like Faraaz and Roxy to share it- they're playing a good game, under the radar without being boring.

I think people have an issue with Jade because she's pretty but not smiley, which is a combination that gives people the rage for some reason (misogyny)

Rather more to do with her petulant behaviour and complete non contribution to any aspect of game (at least in the TV edit).

As I said - she could disappear and it would make no difference to the show.

WhatAreYouDoingSundayBaby · 09/01/2026 15:32

As I said - she could disappear and it would make no difference to the show.

Tbf I feel like this could be said for about half of them! Some of them are barely featured from show to show. Roxy, Matt, Maz...

But that’s in the edit, it doesn’t necessarily mean they don’t contribute just that we aren’t seeing it.

Regarding Reece seeing Rachel and Stephen at the family tree, I think there's a reason he doesn't remember it being significant. I think there were two occasions were the traitors got together in front of the picture and they spanned the course of a whole evening: early evening, Rachel went into the kitchen saying she wanted to decipher the Latin. Reece and (eventually) Stephen go with her, she then asks Reece to leave and she & Stephen discuss what they're going to do. Then, importantly, the evening ticks on and various other groups walk past or convene at the family tree picture, discussing what it might mean, including towards the end of the evening Maz (and Ellie?), giving Stephen the opportunity to point the finger at Maz at the round table. Stephen said this happened five minutes before midnight/the end if the evening, and there were no red marks in the picture at that point. The scene where Rachel leaves the red marks and Stephen acts as lookout must have happened after this, right at the end of the evening. So, it makes sense that Reece hasn't mentioned Rachel & Stephen being alone at the family tree - as far as he knows, there were several groups that did so, and the red marks weren't there for some time after he left them alone

namechange0998776554799000 · 09/01/2026 15:45

Did anyone else feel the 'my home is your home' comment from Amanda as she left was clearly aimed at someone she knew? I thought it gave credence to the Reece as Amanda's son/nephew theory and would explain why he was so upset when they went head to head, and why she seemed to want to console and reassure him

murasaki · 09/01/2026 15:46

It did seem an odd thing to say.

Choux · 09/01/2026 15:53

Well Reece apparently posted this last night. Note the use of the word mother…but he might just be aware of the theories and playing into it…
(sorry @KittyHigham but I am not going to stop posting SM stuff)

I think if there are any more secret relationships then they will be revealed immediately after murder or banishment. So I don't think Hugo, Maz, Ross, Amanda etc is secretly related to anyone other than what they have already disclosed post elimination.

butimamonstersaidthemonster · 09/01/2026 15:59

I honestly think that if either Fiona or Rachel go the other will be final. They are both thought of as faithful. And this isn’t a traitor following the group and voting them out at the round table. It is so outlandish that it’s likely to cement them as faithful.

butimamonstersaidthemonster · 09/01/2026 16:01

I hate the secret relationship speculation. It’s so boring. And with half eliminated it clearly doesn’t matter. So what if Amanda or maz are related to someone they are gone now.

ilovesooty · 09/01/2026 16:03

xsquared · 09/01/2026 11:20

No. She only said she suspected Rachel was a traitor rather than confirm that she was indeed a traitor.

I didn't like Rachel to beginning, but I like Fiona even less. I thought she was far too smug once it was revealed she was the ST, saying that she's been doing their job for them.

Even though I laughed when Rachel insisted "We don't need them", I now agree with her and can't wait to see her demolish Fiona. Rachel is cool as a cucumber though, so it will be Interesting to see how she throws her under the bus.

Maz came across very animated and perceptive on Uncloaked, and it's such a shame he went out early.

I agree with all of that.

friedaddedchilli · 09/01/2026 08:36

Anyone else heard the theory that Jack is Ross from 2 (the secret son)? Heavily disguised of course. Once you see it, you can’t unsee it! I’ve noticed that he literally keeps his head down at the round table, and I thought the whole handing recent Ross a picture of him in Uncloaked was very odd!

I've thought Jack looks remarkably like Series2Ross right from the start actually.

Ooo interesting! Could he fake the new accent that well? Not that I have any idea what he sounds like.

helplessbanana · 09/01/2026 16:06

Citrusbergamia · 09/01/2026 08:47

Yes, I agree. She's seems to come across quite the nasty piece of work.
lf this is her 'true colour' coming out, you certainly wouldn't want her as a MIL would you! 😂

The jealousy of finding out that Amanda had confided in Rachel rather than her was too much. I hope Rachel wipes the floor with her; Stephen seems pretty ineffective so I doubt he'll show much support for either.

I do wonder though, if we, the audience, are being 'played' and the producers have told Amanda/Rachel/Fiona to 'act' out this little scene? I really hope not!

The producers absolutely cannot interfere with the game play for legal reasons, being there is a cash prize and all. They just can't.

N4ish · 09/01/2026 15:21

Agree, this season has a nastier edge than previous ones. Feels close to bullying sometimes.

The games are designed to force the faithful to make difficult decisions, form alliances, think about who they trust etc to help them work out who the traitors are.

I feel series 1 was the worst series for bullying as the contestants were fairly nasty to each other many times and several were in tears. It didn't help that they had no idea what to expect of course.

NoCommentingFromNowOn · 09/01/2026 16:13

I just caught the last 20 minutes of this last night.

I will admit to being slightly intrigued but I did ask a few questions last night and the answers just gave me ideas for more questions.

So what I’m asking now is I can see on the iPlayer there are five episodes, but there’s an extra discussion episode I saw last night. If I just watched the five episodes without any extras, will I understand it? Is it worth getting into? I’ve not seen any of the previous series, nor the sleb versions.

MrsLeonFarrell · 09/01/2026 16:15

Thought people might appreciate this.

Rachel posted a few more on her Instagram.

Yes you can watch just the episodes and they make perfect sense.

The only issue is that you may get sucked in and watch Uncloaked as well and then series 1-3, celeb, Irish, US, Australian, Canadian...

But they could be told ‘you must choose someone to tell your secret to’ type thing, which would influence how the story might play out but wouldn’t be fixing it in any way either?

Umy15r03lcha1 · 09/01/2026 16:18

I think Fiona was a benefits supervisor....

newrubylane · 09/01/2026 16:18

Cushylife · 09/01/2026 14:20

No it was Rachel who went into the kitchen to share the discussion with the team - thought I was going mad - so I rewatched it.😂 Fiona followed into the kitchen after Rachel - she really had no choice but to go their and defend herself. Rachel would have been better to withdraw to another room, take a breath and come up with a new strategy. What she did was more entertaining for us though but it will cost her - first mistake on her part.

Fiona could probably have diffused the situation though. She got Rachel's back up in the first place by accusing her of lying. Rachel flew off the handle, granted. But actually Fiona could have won the day by going into the kitchen and making a rational argument like 'I was just asking where the proof was... isn't it all a bit convenient... Why is Rachel overreacting to simple questions, isn't that suspicious?'. She didn't have to go in there and accuse her of being a liar and a traitor in front of everyone.
