Welcome to Thread 5 of Traitors 2026.

This thread runs at TV pace so do not read any further if you are not up to date with the live broadcast. Whilst most discussion will be on the current series, inevitably people will refer to previous series/players/winners so reader beware if you’ve not seen the 3 previous editions, or the celebrity version.

While we welcome posters discussing their theories and speculating on relationships/connections between players, please don’t post spoilers from elsewhere that may ruin things for those of us who like to see things unfold over the course of the series.

The story so far:

Traitors
Hugo
Rachel
Stephen
Fiona (Secret Traitor)

Murdered
Netty
Ben
Maz

Banished
Judy (Faithful)
Hugo (Traitor)
Ross (Faithful)
Amanda (Faithful)

Candidates for murder in Episode 6: Ellie, Faraaz, Jade, Matthew, Reece and Sam (Amanda was also a potential but was banished beforehand and Fiona and Stephen cannot be murdered).

The floor is yours…

@CharlotteRumpling @GhostOrchid Thank you. Fair enough. I haven't watched Celebrity Traitors but have watched the 3 other regular seasons. I remember Aaron in S1 getting a lot of heat for 'mis-speaking' and being anxious even though he explained he had ADHD.

My points about using ADHD as a 'funny' way of describing James (who I don't believe has said he has it?) and the ableism about Jessie's stammer stands though.

ThePoshUns · 09/01/2026 14:33

Pinkbox · 09/01/2026 14:00

I can’t remember if I mentioned this before due to oncoming age (a la Fiona but not fake battiness) but does anyone get strong Jasper Carrott vibes from original James? I was so convinced that I looked up his son’s name (Jake) and then realised due to their ages that James would have to be his grandson.

Gosh yes! lol

Hobnobswantshernameback · 09/01/2026 14:34

Cat Burns discussed the impact of her ND on her behaviour quite openly at the round table.
Accusing someone of faking a stammer isn't even subtle ableism and is actually right out there and should have no place on here

KittyHigham · 09/01/2026 14:35

StEdmund · 09/01/2026 14:30

She's talking about Cat Burns who did exactly this, not James.

Please let's not go there again!

LighthouseLED · 09/01/2026 14:36

It's therefore not cute and funny for to describe James as "ADHD with a quiff" - it plays into unhelpful stereotypes about ADHD and diminishes it. Many of us with ADHD do not bounce around the walls, and not doing so made it harder for us to get diagnosed.

TBF, James made a comment along the lines of “having a little ADHD in my genes” in the chariot mission (and he does seem to have the stereotypical hyperactive traits) so I don’t think that comment’s completely unfair - speaking as someone who has the non-bouncing off the walls variant myself!

murasaki · 09/01/2026 14:36

OK, I apologise for the stammer speculation.

@StEdmund I never thought the poster was talking about James. I thought she meant someone from one of the regular seasons. I get now that it's Cat Burns though.

James - ADHD with a quiff
Jack - James with glasses
Adam - James with a hat
Matt - James with NI accent
Reece - James in blood
Faraaz- James but darker
Sam - James when he has shaved

Jack - Ross from a previous series in disguise

AuntyAngela · 09/01/2026 14:43

I think Cat Burns said she needed to nap due to her ADHD. In response to it being deduced by Stephen "Super Sleuth' Fry that Traitors would be more tired than Faithfuls. Someone in this year's group suggested the same thought too (i forgot who).

Strangely, I seem to remember in previous years much being made how not being tired meant someone, unless they had a shield, was a Traitor (because Faithfuls would sleep badly as they are worried about being brutally slaughtered in the middle of the night).

Oh gawd he did yes, I forgot that (I'll blame my ADHD Wink) but now recall posting about it here on the thread at the time that I found that very irritating and an example of disrespecting the actual condition.

Still think it wasn't cool for a poster to describe him as ADHD with a quiff. I wonder if they'd describe someone as 'ASD with a quiff' or ''OCD with a quiff. Neither would be quite as cute.

murasaki · 09/01/2026 14:46

I'm not sure I'm entirely comfortable with 'James but darker' as it goes. I've never had Faraaz in with the interchangeable men.

Agree Faraaz stands out from the interchangeables, he's more charismatic

awaynboilyurheid · 09/01/2026 14:54

Really glad Amanda has gone, she decided that young girl was a traitor even though her bestie in there actually was the traitor and nothing could sway her.
I mean perhaps the MET should be looking at her previous convictions (joking / not joking) for someone trained in body language and human behaviors as she stated she was pretty rubbish!
Good to see Rachel under pressure too

Agreed, that statement as part of the list contributed to me finding 'ADHD with a quiff' problematic - it was clear the poster was after cheap laughs and didn't really care about the significance of their words or impact.

Yet several posters found the post very funny.

Yes, I agree with that.

StEdmund · 09/01/2026 15:00

That list was grim- offensive in a few different ways and didn't really make sense.

Louielove · 09/01/2026 15:02

Bump

ilovebrie8 · 09/01/2026 15:04

Well it’s very skewed as it is all the oldies that have gone so far … would be better if some had remained.

Why are none of the younger one’s being killed or banished? There are severel young males don’t know who is who and they seem to be crusing through. Irish guy for one . We needed more of a mix across the ages and the characters have all gone.

Not keen on any of the traitors as time goes on.

Shame that they killed Maz I thought that they’d got for Sam.

Choux · 09/01/2026 15:06

KittyHigham · 09/01/2026 14:14

I realise this will probably get lost, but please could people not post things gleaned from SM like "his boyfriend has posted .." or " X has got a girlfriend.."

Why shouldn’t we post this type of thing if it stops other people putting forward incorrect theories which we can prove are wrong?

CharlotteRumpling · 09/01/2026 15:08

I still don't get why Reece hasn't remembered Rachel and Stephen shoving him out of the way at the family tree. Though of course no one might believe it.

I can only think there’s much more explicit ‘can you leave us alone’, ‘can we go and have a chat’ this year. Everyone’s doing it openly. Previously they’d be subtle and try and catch people alone.

So it wasn’t noticed as it wasn’t unusual.

A few suggestions have made as to why he wouldn't

  • it's not unusual for a contestant to request one to one conversation with another, by either pulling that contestant out a group or asking another contestant to leave.
  • the so called "family tree" had a lot of attention that evening. The red finger prints didn't appear for a long time after that particular interaction.

So you think Amanda should control Rachel's strategy? Rachel underestimated Fiona - Cucumber Rachel should have been trying to build the illusion of trust and cooperation with Fiona by discussing it with the traitors before telling the faithfuls. Instead her ego took over...we all make mistakes - this was a big one and it did not play in her favour.

Where have I said that Amanda should control Rachel's strategy?

Rachel was using the fact that Amanda confided in her to her advantage. Because Amanda was a faithful, her trusting Rachel with her secret and advising her what to do should she go, would make Rachel look like a faithful.

Faraz can also back Rachel up to confirm that Amanda did request to talk to Rachel in private, and disprove Fiona's accusation of Rachel lying about Amanda.

Rachel's execution of letting others know about Amanda was poor, and I reckon she needed to have done it in small groups first.

I really don’t like the games on this series where they are ‘picking on’ individuals. First the choosing of people for the cages leaving Sam without a partner then last nights burning of the shields with names on. I don’t recall the games in past series being so spiteful, there was a lot more teamwork I think. Reminds me of school bullying.

I hope Stephen stays in as long as possible for the sheer entertainment value of his facial expressions.

Agree, this season has a nastier edge than previous ones. Feels close to bullying sometimes.
