Welcome to Thread 5 of Traitors 2026.

This thread runs at TV pace so do not read any further if you are not up to date with the live broadcast. Whilst most discussion will be on the current series, inevitably people will refer to previous series/players/winners so reader beware if you’ve not seen the 3 previous editions, or the celebrity version.

While we welcome posters discussing their theories and speculating on relationships/connections between players, please don’t post spoilers from elsewhere that may ruin things for those of us who like to see things unfold over the course of the series.

The story so far:

Traitors
Hugo
Rachel
Stephen
Fiona (Secret Traitor)

Murdered
Netty
Ben
Maz

Banished
Judy (Faithful)
Hugo (Traitor)
Ross (Faithful)
Amanda (Faithful)

Candidates for murder in Episode 6: Ellie, Faraaz, Jade, Matthew, Reece and Sam (Amanda was also a potential but was banished beforehand and Fiona and Stephen cannot be murdered).

The floor is yours…

It was printed in a Daily Fail story today and it doesn't make sense. But it's there if anyone wants to see it.

A Daily Fail story that doesn't make sense?

No surprises there then.😂

The producers absolutely cannot interfere with the game play for legal reasons, being there is a cash prize and all. They just can't.

Production can't 'interfere' with gameplay directly, they can't rig it.

But they can and do influence things. Eg:

-The questions players are asked can put a thought in a player's head.

-Putting a certain combo of players in one car together is a way of indirectly steering conversation

-Choosing who the 2-3 players allowed into breakfast first are and how long they are left in there before more players are Added. These players get the chance to have a private conversation; we saw Harriet and someone else have a one-on-one conversation at breakfast last week.

ilovesooty · 09/01/2026 17:51

I didn't take to Rachel at the beginning and I thought her attack on Ross at the round table was awful, but I think I loathe Fiona more than any contestant I've ever seen.

dapsnotplimsolls · 09/01/2026 17:53

Apologies if this has been mentioned but I re-watched the drahhhhma and wondered what James is doing as Fiona goes into the kitchen. He sort of ducks down and I'm into sure if he actually went into the kitchen. It's about an hour in.

That was Amanda! Fiona’s mentioned her husband more than once.

She might be if it helps her win Wink

IMO both Rachel and Fiona are stupid.

Rachel has put her head about the parapet by saying what she did about Amanda. If they all take her word for it and banish Jade and whoever else Amanda suspected, after a couple of days they would start to suspect Rachel for leading them down that path to banish faithfuls. She has drawn attention to herself just to save her bacon for an extra day, but jeopardised her long term game.

Fiona let her envy and insecurities get the better of her by lashing out at Rachel the way she did. It’s too early to do this - and if Rachel goes down she will surely take Fiona down with her.

I’m hoping they both get banished.

I've heard a theory that Jessie and Jade are a couple. If so they are playing it really well.

Well, their eyeshadow match!!

hoxtonbabe · 09/01/2026 11:34

Ugh! I detest Amanda, as I do Rachel. I don’t usually get this het up about contestants but these two have raised my BP.

Amanda waffling on about all her fantastic policing skills only to be totally off the mark and confiding in a sodding traitor, the issue now is because Rachel holds a lot of sway and is liked ( this has been mentioned by banished/murdered contestants) if Rachel decides to keep Amanda’s theories alive then Jade is a gonner, and for nonsense reasons at that. Luckily the fight between Rachel and Fiona might mean Jade is no longer enemy number one as Rachel will probably go gunning for Fiona now.

Jade needs to stop being so childish about it all and now Amanda has gone I hope she plays a better game.

Rachel is so unlikeable and from day one I didn’t like her so I hope she doesn’t win even more so as she kept gunning for Ross and trying to trip him
up etc. I get all traitors do that but there was something about the way Rachel was going about it that bothered me. Fiona is annoying and somewhat unhinged but boy was she good to watch last night😂

That said the way she intentionally screwed whatshisname over with the skull collection task saying it’s a nice day so just decided to take her time and enjoy herself etc is unforgivable and deserves whatever nastiness thrown at her online/in the real world… I’ve never seen any contestant behave so selfishly and carelessly in a task.

I don’t care who wins as long as it’s not Fiona or Rachel..

Totally agree with this. Most of the contestants seem very nice and there are quite a few that I would be happy to see win (I really liked Ross, Ben and Maz too)..

I'm also #TeamAnyoneExceptFionaAndRachel

I don't see the point in the family tree unless they are all.connected to each other in some way. Maybe Fiona is ex Diane's mum or mil, and Jack is ex Ross brother. You can't focus in on the family tree to see where the branches go or who it all stems from.

It's not actually a family tree though is it? There are no connecting "branches" worked into as there is on a family tree

It's just a drawing of a tree with the contestants printed on it. The endless speculation about possible relationship is daft. Especially for those that have now been banished or left - if there were relationships it would have been made know to the viewer when they went, as it was when Ross went.

The two relationships that were there have made absolutely no difference to the game at all!!

I think Amanda’s revelation to Rachel, put Rachel in an awkward position.
Firstly, Rachel was clearly upset/annoyed at the RT after Amanda was banished & emotions running high. She had this big secret about Amanda & knew there was no benefit to keeping it to herself. She saw the advantage that by telling the rest of the group she could throw Jade, Sam & Reece under suspicion, due to not only Amanda’s previous job but also because her parting words were ‘take notice’ or something. Plus it would take the heat of both Stephen & Fiona who have both had their names mentioned.

Should Rachel have sought out Stephen & Fiona privately, before revealing it to the group? Probably, but how would that have played out given Fiona’s utterly bizarre reaction? Fiona would likely have then used it to poison everyone to Rachel, going around confiding that Rachel is lying etc etc.

My guess is that Rachel thought she needed to divulge the secret asap as if she’d waited until breakfast/next day it would have looked more contrived. By telling everyone just before bed it gives them time to ruminate on it overnight.

I mean, no-one could have foreseen Fiona’s reaction! Even Rachel was thrown, asking ‘are you joking?’ To react that way, striding through the house as if she owns it, hauling Rachel in for a private chat that Fiona apparently doesn’t like, & then mouthing off was just… unhinged. The fact she wouldn’t even let Rachel explain why she’d done it; just point blank refused to accept that Rachel might be favoured over her - so petty.

Im glad Rachel called it out - I don’t think there is anything else she could have done really. Yes she’s exposed herself, but she never intended it blow up like that & have a screaming match in the kitchen.

Definitely Team Anyone but Fiona

I disagree. Rachel should have considered how she was going to use the Amanda info, perhaps consulted with the other traitors first.
Even if not, revealing it in a small group setting would have been better.
Fiona, spoke with her privately and again, rather than considering next steps Rachel chose to tell a large audience that Fiona said she was lying. Why? What was the purpose of that?
I can understand Fiona losing the plot a bit at that stage, thinking Rachel was throwing her under the bus.

AlwaysRightISwear · 09/01/2026 18:33

If Rachel and Fiona make it up in the turret, after a big row obviously, they could fake a public reconciliation if Fiona comes in to breakfast saying she's thought it over overnight and now believes R. She could say she doesn't necessarily believe Amanda told the truth though

But Fiona didn't take her to one side and tell her that she felt that perhaps Rachel should have shared that news with the other traitors first so they could come up with a game plan. She took her to one side in order to tell her she thought the whole thing was total rubbish, that Rachel was talking a complete pack of lies, and that she, Fiona, didn't believe a single word of it.

Bryantpark · 09/01/2026 18:45

If Rachel had consulted with the other traitors first and then told the faithfuls about amanda the next day, she would have been accused of being too secretive. She was right to come straight out with it.

She's acting like she's a faithful and so obviously can't consult with the traitors.

This is what made me think they were connected and then he approached her a little later but I can see a strong resemblance between Ben and James.

Yes I think she had to say it last night.
I think she called everyone together to try to look less suspicious and like a good faithful.
Fiona freaked out because she could sense it was going to work so decided to sabotage it.

I don't think Rachel did it for her own sake though, I think it was to protect all three traitors and to encourage the faithful to look at the wrong people that hopeless detective Amanda had flagged up

MissMoneyFairy · 09/01/2026 18:54

Louielove · 09/01/2026 17:50

@Bryantpark Exactly.

APurpleSquirrel · 09/01/2026 19:01

@Bryantpark& @helplessbanana - exactly! If Amanda had told an actual Faithful, what would they have done? I imagine they’d have done what Rachel did - if you leave the secret too long it looks contrived.
I wonder how Fiona would have reacted if Amanda had told Harriet??

IWantToHibernate · 09/01/2026 19:11

Amanda from S1 is on Uncloaked tonight which makes me think they may get a traitor at tonight’s banishment.

WriterOfWrongs · 09/01/2026 19:15

I honestly don't think they'd suspect Rachel on that basis because Rachel wouldn't be telling them anything they didn't already know about who Amanda suspected. Amanda was very open she suspected Jade, and also Sam, and had said so at the roundtable just an hour or so before Rachel told everyone about Amanda's profession.
