Sad to see Naveed go, but his wasn't very successful.
I liked Bill's but it didnt' hit the brief of showing movement.
Angharad's was terrific; so well conceived, so expressive, instantly recognisable as a body, and joyous and defiant.
Finn's was good, but a bit busy.

Tablefor4 · 24/02/2026 14:52

I agree that Bill's was extraordinary, but did not show movement. TBF to whoever raised the sob-story requirement, the brief is to show movement in your body. It absolutely could be a positive or neutral activity like "I like swimming" or here's me playing with my niece, it's the contestants who take it to darker places.

[I'm also still bitter about a potter being sent home on a very tight week when he clearly had a lot of talent unlike the one saved and Keith remaining completely dry-eyed when the potter was explaining that something was linked to the teddy bear the social worker gave him when she came to collect him from the hospital (or some such clearly very difficult story).]

Tablefor4 · 24/02/2026 14:53

Oh - I also regret (more for last week when Naveed's posy should have won) that the show has a POTW rather than a make of the week (like Sewing Bee), so that the middle round ought to be taken into account too.

I love Bill

Me too

Madcats · 25/02/2026 14:49

Annoyingly I’ll be at the far end of the country that weekend, but Gladstone Pottery is having a makers’ market on 21/22 March. At least a couple of this year’s contestants are selling their wares: https://www.stokemuseums.org.uk/gpm/whats-on/events/ceramic-makers-market-6/

Well, I like a cry so found this emotional. Any one with body issues can relate to Angharad's I feel. I know exactly what she meant.

I am not a creative but was actaully thinking all the way through what things I would do.

I found Bill's exceptionally moving.

Had no idea what Naveed's was. I love him though and am sad to see him go but his final heartfelt words were 'I'm a potter'. Bless him.

That human loveliness is why I love this show.

I was tearing up at this week’s too, especially Bill’s and his was my winner.

I thought the challenge this week resulted in some truly hideous “sculptures”. Angharad’s was the best with a very clear connection. It made me think of Tony Hancock’s sculpture in the film The Rebel

Semi final already!

AlicePottery · 01/03/2026 19:47

I know, next week will be the end of half term for me so double sadness!

This could be a good make.

SabrinaThwaite · 01/03/2026 19:51

I guess this is a variation on the previous wash basin / sink / toilet bowl challenges?

Tidypidy · 01/03/2026 19:53

Is the opening theme tune different?

AlwaysRightISwear · 01/03/2026 19:54

This is a good solid challenge.

AlicePottery · 01/03/2026 19:55

Ooh that's risky Fynn!

Is the opening theme tune different?

It is, but still in that The Who style.

Saucery · 01/03/2026 20:03

Oh no, I have a bad feeling about Bill’s.

Manename · 01/03/2026 20:03

evening all, interesting having something completely different with Roman eels

AlicePottery · 01/03/2026 20:07

Bill's will probably crack in the firing as it was moved/handled so much during drying, Fynn's might too as he has loads more joints than the others, although the clay will be of a more regular thickness which will play in his favour. It really does depend on how long they're left to dry.

I like this challenge better than toilet/sink etc. The fountains all look like they have potential to be attractive but it does seem v tricky

AlicePottery · 01/03/2026 20:10

So nothing to do with making ceramics then 🙄

AlicePottery · 01/03/2026 20:12

I must stop being so judgemental.

Manename · 01/03/2026 20:14

I don’t feel like this is actually pottery?

Saucery · 01/03/2026 20:15

I think it’s a bit of creative light relief before they get back to their massive builds Grin

Saucery · 01/03/2026 20:16

DH has just remembered he bought all the kit for this about 15 years ago, with the intent to make a mosaic top table for the garden……it’s still in the garage.
