Can’t you watch stv on the tv? I just go to the search options.

Yes, me too however, it is glitchy. The sound booms out between part 1 and part 2 and sometimes the player gets stuck and Inhave to come out and in again. The episodes are grouped in five so you can find the right one by skipping through. It also takes me back to where I am up to. I do understand the issue though - I get it with Location Location on channel 4 - unwatchable as I can’t jump to the correct episode of hundreds, I have to scroll
througj them all; go too far and it tips you back to the start and you have to go again!

It plays through the app however you access it, I think. I persevere, but it’s a pain.

I dont find the app on my smart tv too bad and it does go onto the next episode when one finishes. I’ve found pausing it for a long time is a mistake though as it always crashes and I have to restart.

Loving 1990 episodes
We had just bought our first house & had the same sofas as Mick & Josie
At the time I thought the Farnhams house was so trendy and Patricia’s clothes !
Eagerly awaiting the arrival of ‘gangster Barry ‘

It’s weird with the clothes. Some
of them I don’t remember from that year al
all, like Patricia wearing a huge sailor type collar - I thought those were more late
80s. Others are more as I recall like Margaret’s.

Still in 1985, just watched the siege. Too young to see it back then but still holds up well today. Some good acting..

The armed police with no helmets or body armour.. how matter of fact they were when questioning Pat and Sandra. No apparent offers of counselling or aftercare.

Edna’s strike , so realistic and still as relevant today .

Just catching up on recent episodes - seems to be a lot on buying stuff on tick, but was it when credit cards just started getting popular? I remember those old imprinted machines that were used with carbon papers!

Also men’s haircuts for 25p!!!

Hmm yes, 1988-1992 I had part time jobs in shops and although credit cards were very much around, credit was harder to get and, in my working class area, there was a dim view taken of using a credit card for the food shop or basic goods. I think the catalogues offering credit were still going strong. Mind you, Doe took out credit cards for her fireplace, shuttered etc! And look where that led!! 😂

Just a few years ago I did a xmas shop and paid on my credit card - I put everything on there to track spending and get rewards. The woman who served me said in a kindly way, ‘ oh it really helps at xmas doesn’t it?’ I was lost for a moment then all the memories of attitudes to credit came rushing back. I had totally forgotten this was a very common view that credit cards were for when you were desperate and a form of debt, rather than a normal way of paying for stuff.
