I have caught up now (and watched tonights on IPlayer)

Oscar and Jasmin are destined to be together now by Eastenders Standards .
His Dad and Her Mum had a fling .

He was very rude to Stacey when he met her and twigged that she was the Stacey her Mum hated because she'd had a long term affair with his Dad.

Jasmine better watch out, Max has a thing for about his sons' girlfriends!

Stacey'n'Max was back in 2006 or something ., so yes she was his daughter-in-law / sons girlfriend depending on the time frame , but they were both much younger
Max is not a looker either back then or especially now .And a thoroughly unpleasant character to boot (I'm sure Jake Woods is lovely IRL)

Jasmine would tell him to sod right off if he looked at her twice (unless it was an Evil Blackmail Plot)

@70isaLimitNotaTarget Yes, apparently Stacey arrived in Walford in 2004 as a 15 yr old, so would've been only 17 when Max took a fancy to her. This didn't stop him, and neither did the fact that she was his son's gf, then wife.
He is awful.

@Shellingbynight we've had this conversation before and said that Max was sleazy and seedy.

Would they revisit those kind of storylines now, in this day and age?

@NowNumber5 I'd like to think they wouldn't. But Max was shagging Lucy in 2014 which really isn't long ago. I hope New Max has reformed but I think if Stacey returns he'll be all over her like a rash.

I hope Max & ‘Returning Stacey’ don’t get married! She deserves so much better.
I was hoping the flash-forward was to Max & Linda, all set to the tie the knot, but thwarted by a Returning Danny Dyer, yelling ‘leave ma wife alone and get aaaaht-ah ma pub!’

Stacey must have been barely out of teens. So gross🤢 And quite disturbing that she was vilified by everyone when in reality she was basically groomed by a much older man.

I can’t say I’m looking forward to next week which is a first for me. Even in the decade or so that I stopped watching EE I always switched on the Xmas day episode. It’s so bizarre that Kat is doing this community Xmas day lunch and inviting complete strangers to join her family in the Vic when she’s so paranoid about Zoe’s stalker. I know it’s for plot purposes so Jasmine is invited and can reveal who is her muvvvver duff duff.

Even Alfie suggested ‘ getting out of dodge’ ( as he put it ) but no, Kat wants to invite everyone! I didn’t actually think of it as Eastie just had below, but it’s true , why do an ‘ open pub dinner ‘ for Christmas when your daughter had been stalked for months etc?
Plus isn’t Yolande going to spend Kim’s 2 k on food for the soup kitchen ? Why didn’t they team up with them?
Or is that a separate affair ?

In the video promo for xmas, Kat says "help me" to someone in a leather jacket, I think it's Alfie because it looks like his jacket/arm. I know there was chat on here about what Kat was saying, I just couldn't remember if anyone mentioned the leather jacket on the screen

Cindy opening the door to someone and saying "Do I know you ?"
Kat having a stand up row in the Vic with someone who is 'getting off on hurting her '
The Beales and the Brannings all round Ian's house for dinner . Why would he host them all in his house when he has a restaurant with industrial ovens etc . Though the seating at Beales Eels is booths so not so easy to get everyone in one table .

I clean forgot Zoe was shot !

Doesn’t matter what they do to eat on Christmas Day , it doesn’t get eaten! They bring out the Turkey and trimmings and five minutes later it all kicks off usually.

I just hope they've hidden the turkey pronger!

One of the best Eastenders Christmas Dinner plots was when Pauline was cooking "proper Eastender faaaaaamily Christmas like Mum would make" , Pete Beale (original , not Pe-ah ) joked to Dot that they were all going over to hers for dinner .
Dot cooked the full works with "roast and mash potatoes" .
He had dinner at Pauline's then she made them all go over to Dots house for a second blow-out meal and he had to eat it as she'd gone to the trouble of cooking .

Though she'd have bought the vegetables at his stall he'd have plenty opportunity to say "You won't need 4lb of maris and 2lb sprouts Dot , if it's just you and Nick "
Or Pauline would've invited her over , but probably not with Nick in tow .

Back in the days with Pat and Dot both dropping a healthy dose of fag ash onto the Christmas dinners whilst plating up!

Falling off the Vic roof - how Lauren and Max can both bear to be anywhere in that vicinity is worrying, especially Max.
To lose one child off the Vic roof is carelessness, but two is just lazy plot writing down right parental negligence.

Didn't Jean or maybe Mo once cause a load of people to go down with food poisoning cos of a dodgy sandwich filling (a fishy filling perhaps?)? I have a vague memory of different people having to rush into the loo in the caff to be sick! I might be totally misremembering, though!
