they aer called tummy tuck i think. don't like them myself, frumpy. i fear diamante on jeans too. very gloria vanderbilt.

fishie · 10/06/2008 10:49

she was having a bit of trouble walking in the last pair of shoeboots, sort of clomping. i love her skirts.

WilfSell · 10/06/2008 10:50

fishie, come and join me over in style to debate their strengths/weaknesses? Have you seen em in person so to speak? What alternatives are there for a massive fat arse more rounded lady?

MrsPS · 10/06/2008 11:08

Ha! I pinched her hair do from the last series. Couldn't quite pull it off though as I looked more like this not so good so have since grown it out

I have worked with Anna Scholz she is a lovely woman- shockingly nice and she is very pretty in RL I thought she looked dreadful on the programme she really is a pretty girl.

Watching MP on the show I always spot Melanies belt or top and it makes me smile- Melanie was on another documentary series- do you think they realised a saddo like me would notice?

So glad to find this thread. That woman was atrocious but I am off to buy LivingEtc straight away because I heart Mary.

Fishie, you have made me think of something I have not remembered for at least 25 years:

Richard Shops are filled with all the pretty things
Such lovely pretty things to wear
Hey there pretty thing
Make the world a prettier place
Come pretty face, come buy your clothes at Richard Shops

la la la la la

I did not know that was in my brain until you mentioned Richard Shops. Am I the only one old enough to remember that?

MargaretMountford · 10/06/2008 13:24

oh God MargoandJerry - I remember that ad...gah !

MargaretMountford · 10/06/2008 13:28

fab Mary

paddingtonbear1 · 10/06/2008 13:44

I remember Richard Shops but not that!

Just seen the write up for next weeks Queen of Shops, it looks hilarious! Apparently it's a bloke who just won't take her advice, and she storms off!

WilfSell · 10/06/2008 13:47

So come on Mary, cough up... who are you on MN then?

MargaretMountford · 10/06/2008 13:49

do you think she would come across this thread of admiration if she googled herself, or is she far too busy ?

Can anyone remember what that woman from last night's programme was called? The size-ist shop owner. I know I've seen her somewhere before.

I'm thinking reality tv, wife swap type thing.

Or perhaps she just looks too much like Jodie Marsh.

WilfSell · 10/06/2008 14:06

no, the nose was a bit more childcatcher than Pumbaa (Jodie Marsh) I thought

Raahh · 10/06/2008 15:22

themoon- i posted exactly the same when iwas watching it- she really does look familiar.

MaryAnnSingleton · 10/06/2008 15:53

was it Amanda ?

WilfSell · 10/06/2008 15:57

Amanda Collins from press release here

JackieNo · 10/06/2008 16:11

Whoever it was who said she looked like Morwenna Banks (especially in Saxondale) is right, I think.

MrsPS · 10/06/2008 18:20

This is so funny. If MP were to chat on here and discuss what was in her living room or an outfit she was wearing she would be torn to pieces in 30 seconds flat and called a wankoid.

So funny.

MsDemeanor · 10/06/2008 18:46

I thought MP's beige leggings were a bit of a horror story tbh.

Flibbertyjibbet · 10/06/2008 20:40

Yes I must admit that a couple of her outfits had me muttering 'fashion victim'. Specially one pair of ankle boots which were dire.
As a mature lady I think she should do less 'fashion' and more 'classic chic' as she has a really good figure.
Perhaps Trinny and susannah could give her the once over next time they do a celeb special
