The trailer for the second series of The Night Manager has been released.

The first episode is set to air on 1 January 2026!

Anyone else can't wait for this? All the talk over the years about a second series and it's almost here!

And Series 3 has been given the greenlight, too.

@QuenchedSquirrel can't see a way Pine could have wriggled out of booze/drugs so yes the character must have the constitution of an ox!

Ok - so episode 3 was a bit more like it. I was gripped and didn’t drift off to look at my phone!

And very pleased to see Roper back even though we all saw it coming!

More plot holes than a Swiss cheese but I will stay invested after last night.

It was so obvious Roper was going to be back. Agree about the talking in the hotel lobby! It’s definitely not as good as the first one.

Also in the days of online encryption they are still carrying papers around in a leather briefcase - seems unlikely.

It is so bad I'm watching to see how much worse it can get. All the sensitive chats in public areas that anyone could overhear, that bloke leaving crucial documents conveniently next to a photocopier and her frantically shoving them in, surely surely it'd have made more sense to take pics of them.

The last minute money transfer as he's dangled over the side of the boat than 'I say Blackadder!' Roper reappearing and Pine getting all teary.

The money that has gone into this, the scenery, the locations. Why on earth couldn't they have got a decent writer. Basil is the only redeeming character.

Oh and the weird threesome attempt to be sexy and failing miserably dance. All the sultry glances and stroking then they go back to the table and carry on chatting .

Yes, that was also very weird. Also I’d be surprised if Columbia was completely cool with public homosexuality and publicly implied threesomes.

Yes it does come across that Roper's son is interested in men.

I wonder what happened with Roper then and if Angela Burr was aware he's still alive?

Did anyone see the trailer where he was talking to Angela Burr and said to her "you lied to me" then she replied "I had no choice!"

She felt for a pulse on Roper's neck. Jonathan/Matt wasn't allowed to be part of identifying the body.

I also wondered if Teddy was gay as Ivan made a comment that Pine didn't have to be jealous of Teddy and Roxy dancing together. I'm glad nothing came of the seductive dancing/stroking as I think that would have been a step to far to have Pine waking up in Teddy's bed.

Roper maybe turned and working for the spooks, did a deal in return for not getting murdered or locked up. Aye up Angela in on it hence the fake death confirmation.

But surely Teddy would have known exactly who Pine was from the off. He had a relationship with his father before his "death" and would have known who set RR up I'm sure.

Yes they're either all very stupid or they think we are .

Teddy knows Pine as Matthew Ellis so would have no idea that Pine was responsible for his father's downfall. I doubt very much Roper would even have an inkling that Pine is still active in bringing down arms dealers because Pine is going rogue and at present the government have no idea what Pine is up to.

Can't wait to see Roper and Pine come face to face.

The sexy dancing was ghastly!! Like you would be getting on like that in a public place and no one would bat an eyelid.
