The trailer for the second series of The Night Manager has been released.

The first episode is set to air on 1 January 2026!

Anyone else can't wait for this? All the talk over the years about a second series and it's almost here!

And Series 3 has been given the greenlight, too.

I liked her in that film about dementia with Anthony Hopkins, but so often she's dreadful.

She was fabulous in Broadchurch too

Well I defer to you at @MayIDestroyYou - I haven’t seen any of those. Only Heartstoppers, Peep Show and Fleabag as the toxic stepmother. Hmm maybe I should rethink this.

MayIDestroyYou · 11/02/2026 07:19

Or just watch them? 😄

I like her in Broadchurch too.
It's also the only thing I think David Tennant is good in.

I think she's good in some things but there was a time when she was cast in everything, whether she was suitable or not, just because she was Olivia Coleman and they needed an older woman (like The Crown).

Yes, I think you're right. She really struggled playing the Queen, she said she had to listen to the shipping forecast because she has an expressive face and the role needed non expressive, and she found that incredibly difficult. Her accent was dreadful, it was all over the place. And no wonder if she spent most of her time trying to concentrate on not showing emotion.

As she was in Broadchurch, Ill mention David Tenant. He seems to be a good Actor in a Scottish accent but any other accent and he reverts to that Doctor Who Estuary English, and plays the same part in whatever show hes in. No wonder hes gone back so many times!

Love Olivia Colman particularly in Peep show, Rev and Fleabag.
I thought she was good in the Night Manager

Oh no, not Jez. She had all the allure of a wooden door with a wig on top. Dreadful actress. Glad she isn't in it this time.

Danny's mother would be interesting to see though.

😂😂😂😂😂

Agree on both points

Just finished it and loved it. Worth watching for Hugh Laurie alone as the dastardly wicked Roper.

Haemagoblin · 22/02/2026 13:31

All you people hating on Teddy are nuts! He was such a great character, so layered, tough and yet vulnerable, capable of bad things but fundamentally good. The actor is so gifted. And the dance was HOT (could totally have done without Roxana though, she was SUCH a boring character and apart from being Pine's way in was just so utterly pointless!!!)

HappyFace2025 · 22/02/2026 18:20

Just finished watching on iPlayer. Hugh Laurie is still the absolute best. I almost gave up watching after the first three episodes and then he appeared and acted everyone else off the screen!

damemaggiescurledupperlip · 23/02/2026 13:11

Teddy's fringe just reminded me too much of Dumb and Dumber

That was the point many of us were about to give up, then gave it one last go as Roper had returned.

It was a fantastic moment when he heard Roper's posh voice for the first time when he was eavesdropping in the jungle. Real goosebump telly!

MrsLargeEmbodied · 04/03/2026 05:06

finally finished this as i thought i had read it had a good ending.!
i wonder if olivia colman just wanted out
even Hugh Lawrie couldnt save this,
so corny

i thought the columbians knew roper as a different name but he turned up and they called him Roper?#
very disappointing that there will be a further series.
