The trailer for the second series of The Night Manager has been released.

The first episode is set to air on 1 January 2026!

Anyone else can't wait for this? All the talk over the years about a second series and it's almost here!

And Series 3 has been given the greenlight, too.

I was quite shocked do the security services really just blatantly bump people off like this no attempt to even try and make it look like an accident Confused.

In real life? No they don’t. I know someone who works / worked in the security services and there is no such thing as a ‘licence to kill’ not in UK. Even guilty spies who have caused the deaths of innocent Britains are at worst imprisoned in a cat A prison.

Hmmmm..... I'm not convinced about that...

Ive seen the trailer for episode 6 and it looks like im going to have sweaty palms and be holding my breath for at least half of it! 🤣

foxlover47 · 27/01/2026 01:29

I loved basil but emotionally attached to him from him being the vicar in this country also 🤣
shooting the dogs he “loved so much “
he was going to take them home to England with him shows he’s unravelling too doesn’t it
genuinely thought under cover man was a gonna
I have a awful feeling Teddy is gonna die because we are starting to feel like we are rooting for him
roxanna is awful

BreakfastOfWaffles · 27/01/2026 02:09

What's happened to Tavo? I wonder if Roxanna at least gave him the chance to hide before she rang to be collected by Roper's guy

I agree he's not very nice. I don't like him at all.

This won't give anything away, but yet another conversation that was meant to be hidden but Sally openly looking at him and talking and even showing him her laptop.

How stupid was that.

I also don't understand why Sally keeps calling him Jonathan. Surely she'd use his alias, in case they are overheard. In episode 2, when they were in his hotel room and he was checking it out (maybe for recording devices?) she called him Jonathan a ridiculous number of times.

Also, the continuity with the drinks in episode 2 frustrated me. At lunch with Roxanna, he drank some white wine. When he picked the glass up again it seemed to be fuller. Same with the whiskey at Teddy's- it was magically refilled.

I'd prefer it if Roxana is rotten rather than just another damsel in distress trying to hoodwink the baddies

Basil wasn’t killed because he was incompetent or a double agent. He was killed because of what he knew, and because Myra had no other option.

Oh no, not Jez. She had all the allure of a wooden door with a wig on top. Dreadful actress. Glad she isn't in it this time.

Danny's mother would be interesting to see though.

I liked Jez! More than the Roxana character, anyway.

PrincessScarlett · 27/01/2026 14:00

Roper has referred to Teddy being like a loyal dog. I hope that doesn't mean that Teddy will face the same fate as Roper's dogs 😬

But in Roper’s mind, the dogs were disloyal. They betrayed him. Now Teddy is turning and yes, I fear he might have the same fate…

Raisondeetre · 27/01/2026 14:01

Me too.

Jed's character was better but I can't stop watching Roxana - she's one of the most beautiful women on TV at the moment.

Olefinssoredo · 27/01/2026 17:49

I liked Jed’s looks more. She’s unusual looking but absolutely stunning.

MayIDestroyYou · 27/01/2026 18:23

I’m still intrigued by the convenient coincidence of Roxana’s late father and Pine wearing exactly the same size in beautifully tailored shirts.

😂

Yes! And clearly the house that had been uninhabited for 20+ years must have had sufficient hot running water to get him scrubbed up so nicely!

MayIDestroyYou · 27/01/2026 19:01

I was unsure about water. She seemed happy to change into fresh clothes from a drawer, while leaving her blood splattered face unwiped. He was scrubbing himself with a dry cloth (?) but later appeared immaculate.

I do hope the boy is ok.

aliceinawonderland · 27/01/2026 19:24

I think the actress who played Jed is exquisitely beautiful. Her character also developed… we saw her vulnerability and her joy in Danny and then her strength not breaking under torture.
The scene when Roper discovers her at the bedroom safe was brilliant

The water-boarding scene was one of the most harrowing things of the whole series
Agree she was beautiful

Yes, and how convenient that a man of South American colouring should have a shirt that's the perfect flattering shade on a blonde haired European!

britneyisfreebutnotokay · 27/01/2026 23:31

Season two in it’s entirety had more holes than a sieve.

MayIDestroyYou · 28/01/2026 09:51

It’s so odd with the shirt thing: when Pine took it out of the wardrobe I was waiting for the comedy moment when he put it on and it was comically too big - neck too wide, shoulder seams down to his elbows - and they laughed and he somehow made it work.

But we were deprived of all that because Roxana clearly phoned her alterations service from the getaway car and got them to race over to her dad’s house with Pine’s exact measurements, and work some magic.

Ho hum!

QuenchedSquirrel · 28/01/2026 14:23

The shirt thing was ridiculous. And it was freshly.pressed as well!!!!

As soon as he headed towards the wardrobe I knew he'd find the perfect fitting item there.

🙄

I’m still mourning Basil. Do you think it’s in any way possible that he wasn’t killed, just shot and injured and will return triumphant at the end? Or am I being unrealistically soft and silly?

LittleBitofBread · 28/01/2026 16:17

I would like dear decent Basil to come back too, but from the acting and the mood of those scenes I suspect it won't happen Sad
