How on earth can you not remember him, he and Oti sizzled that series. I saw the tour and live they were amazing.

Because memories may vary! And you're not me!

I loved Mr Charles Venn's Blackpool samba.

Steps are performing in this year's Blackpool Results Show so, technically, another Strictly alumnus will be there. Remember FFS's goatherd Charleston? And her classic showdance?

Quite.

Danny Mac had musical theatre roles as Gavroche when he was a child and again as an understudy in Wicked. He went to RADA.

I would hazard a guess that Jay had more dance experience at his prestigious dance school than Danny Mac did, so in my opinion, they're probably just as ringery as each other.

Edited

Jay’s school was at performing arts school not just a dance school - drama had as much of a focus and it would be combined with the school curriculum. I’m not sure where it ranks amongst similar schools. He didn’t go onto higher education at RADA or other theatre school. The drama schools all teach dance and some music as well, even if its not in the institution name. Its fair to assume than anyone who has done degree level will have covered all three but likely to be focused on the dance and drama as these maximise job opportunities.

Danny Mac also went to a theatre school/college for his latter school years but then did a degree and post graduate training in performing. Overall I’d say he had a fair bit more training and professional performance experience (and he was a few years older/more experienced).

I’d say neither are remotely as ringerish as Layton who must be one of the ringiest ringers of all time, but Danny had more relevant training and more experience at the point of competing. I’d see Jay more akin to Karen - did a higher level during school years than most school children but never danced (or did musicals) professionally.

Maybe Danny would be “Ringer-lite”. I’m not sure how much dance was in his musical experience and some roles have no dance whilst others are primarily dance.

Thank gawd for that. Bet they'll be a tapdance shoehorned in somewhere.

@xsquared I'd love to see Natasha, Jill, Alisha and Ramps as winners and as non winners Anita, Zoe, Gethin, Austin and Debbie. And just to push my luck I'd like them to be paired with their original pros too.

Edited

I’d love to see Vincenze and Flavia back doing one of their ATs and Ramps with Karen Hardy especially (which was a scarily long time ago now).

Oh and Gangnam Style - it was so funny its one of the few real “comedy” dances with weak celebs I still enjoy. Katya, like Oti seems very good at getting the best out of a celeb.

True but usually you'd expect to remember those that dance the most and get to the final week. He was the same year as Ore who was also really good

Jay was 25 and Danny was 28.

I think Ore Oduba would have been a favourite for Blackpool if he hadn't just recently confessed to being a sex addict 🥱

Choux · 16/11/2025 12:49

Just watched Danny Mac’s samba, Argentine tango, American smooth and showdance. Some serious footwork, athleticism, strength and rhythm on display.

No doubt he still has the rhythm but I can’t imagine him (or Jay) doing anything approaching that level 9 years later as a one off performance. I am prepping myself to be disappointed.

ilovesooty · 16/11/2025 12:51

I expect it will be some kind of group dance.

Freysimo · 17/11/2025 07:58

Just a thought but what's to stop BBC manipulating public vote? They've always refused to give out numbers.

How would giving out the numbers mean they weren't manipulated? If they were fiddling the figures they would just do that before they published them anyway.
It's not like we can check them. You do get lots of ohh that can't be right because I voted for X so did all my family and friends but they were bottom and I don't know anyone who voted for Y but they were top when shows do release figures.
I understand why they don't Balvinda has looked broken every time she has been in the dance off. How much worse would it be if the cold hard figures showed a celeb it's not close run thing and they are only pulling a few hundred votes to everyone else's hundreds of thousands?

Clawdy · 17/11/2025 08:19

I loved Georgia May Foote and Giovanni's charleston, but doubt we'll be seeing that!

I think the X Factor gave out number of votes? Someone made a Freedom of Information request to BBC about Strictly a few years back but was refused. I think the BBC needs to be more open, especially now. I think celebs are well aware of how they are doing vote wise.

The fact they could get into serious trouble. There was a big thing some years ago and voting manipulation

I don't think the voting numbers should be given. Imagine being the celeb that gets 100 votes and everyone else gets over 1,000. I think even less celebs would sign up if they knew the number of votes they got was going to be made public.

Why not most of the pro’s are going by recent stories !
