Thank you. I will wait and in the meantime am rewatching S1 with my dc as they have now got into it 🤣

Seeing all the brilliant support for Neuroblastoma I would love to see a list of the other celeb's charities ... Not for 'look what you missed out on' but for the awareness raising.

Yes, I hate the sob stories in the regular series and wouldn't have wanted a slanging match over the most worthwhile charity for the celeb edition. But now that it's over, it'd be good if they could publicise who they were playing for on their social media. Maybe they are still under BBC constraints?

There's a fantastic pic on Ed's Instagram of Nick clocking him when dressed in the robes 😀

Just seen that picture! 🤣🤣🤣🤣

I love Nick’s expression, not at all triumphant more like “Aww, it’s my mate!”

Rewatching S1 and they are all so emotional and dramatic! Love the first series of anything like this because the participants have no benchmark, have no clue what is going on and are a lot more ‘natural’ than subsequent series.

Silverbirchleaf · 08/11/2025 20:02

Does anyone else wonder why they had nineteen celebrities? Seems an odd number. I wonder if they originally had twenty and someone dropped out. They could easily have had a double murder one night, to make the numbers add up.

They normally have 22 and the series is 12 episodes.

I love the start of S2 where Claudia asks them to line up outside the castle as they did in S1 and once they’ve pushed and shoved to avoid being at the end she says “As if we’d do that again!”

😂
I’d forgotten that - hence why I am enjoying watching it again

How do these people find out about new shows to apply for?

Honestly, S1 - the crying, the panic attacks, the arguing - it is tv gold!

Cat, Joe and Nick named as those most likely to do well off their stint on CT

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cwy1w0lj44ro

I thought that this is perfedt for Cat and she has liked her new album launch perfectly. Will give her a giant push. Joe has defo raised his profile. I am a bit supriaed about Nick as the third. Ted Lasso was so popular and he has two Emmy nominations and then he has done all the british panel/quiz shows. I would put David instead of Nick. I mean, i didn't find David particularly interesting but I can see him trying to become Brian Cox type character.

Ratafia · 08/11/2025 20:58

Spurred on by this thread, I've had a couch potato day watching the Oz no. 2 series. I wonder whether they cancelled it after that because it showed Australians in such an utterly stupid light?

PearlFatball · 08/11/2025 22:08

Watching S1 for the first time. The celebrity series was my introduction. I think I prefer the celebrity season, the first season is far too dramatic (because the stakes are a lot higher I suppose). Wilf is so skeezy.

IAmKerplunk · 08/11/2025 22:25

@PearlFatball I had forgotten how dramatic it was and I watched it first time round! I think the challenges were better in S1

Tofufuton · 08/11/2025 23:17

The red breakfast in S1 was the moment Traitors became an overnight phenomenon. So much drama! I thought S1 was lightning in a bottle that couldn't be recreated, and the novelty of it certainly was jaw-dropping at the time, but S2 offered a new spin, and while S3 doesn't seem to be anyone's favourite, producers tried to experiment and shake up the game a bit (arguably to its detriment!) Ultimately, it's all about having a strong likeable cast, and letting the game evolve. But nothing will compare to how astonishing it was to watch S1 live!

It'll be interesting to see Celebs S2 and compare it. I hope they cast as high-profile as they did here, and keep the same contestant quality. It reminds me of when Masked Singer debuted, which had a surprisingly great mix of celebs, but now it's kinda descended into one-hit-wonder adjacents not uncommon to the reality celeb fodder scene. So I hope producers will be as diligent about getting more big names involved.

I’m sure I read somewhere that Claudia said she didn’t want the celeb version to be an annual thing but rather an every couple of years thing. I think it worked so well this year because of the high calibre of participants - definitely can’t be having influencers/reality tv stars.

Yes the red breakfast in S1! I am loving rewatching it even though I know who wins 🤣

Ratafia · 09/11/2025 00:54

What was the red breakfast? I watched it at the time but I don't remember that.

Traitors plays homage to the misspelt names on slates - very funny at the end.

Claudia keeps saying she doesn't want to do a second or third series, doesn't want do a celebrity version, but she always does!

It'll run for as long as it pulls in those viewing figures.

Exactly that. Claudia hasn’t got much say in the matter and she’s got to compensate for her Strictly income somehow.

Yes you’re right. Do you think she would be happy to still present it if it went down the z list celebrity route like SCD has?

I had never heard of Nick before Traitors, but absolutely loved him, so it wouldn't surprise me if he got a boost.

CaveMum · 09/11/2025 09:29

Claudia is rumoured to be being offered a BBC1 chat show, for when Graham Norton is off air, so I don’t think her income is a concern!

Whether she does another CT depends on her contract I guess. If she only signed up to do the regular version then she’s not obliged to I guess and would the production crew want to risk a change in dynamic by swapping her for someone else? I for one really don’t like Alan Cummings’ take on the part and would be much less likely to watch if they got him/a similar character to do the show.

Horses for courses though!

Ratafia · 09/11/2025 09:41

Claudia's always been fairly careful about not overstaying in shows she does - see, for example, the Sewing Bee. I hope she sticks with Traitors at least for a time. While it pulls in such good viewing figures I suspect she can name her price, and she does seem to enjoy doing it.

Lovely article about Claude, I have always loved her but her quirky personality works so well on Traitors
