I’ve just rewatched Ash & Grace as didn’t see the bit where she said he’d break into the toilet.

She does actually say “I’ve got so many examples…,but one of the things that I didn’t really speak up about” then shares how he’d try & unlock the bathroom door. So it seems she didn’t disclose this to any of them? She again says it occurred often - he says it happened once.

She does say she hadn’t wanted to talk about their intimate times h’ever. He reveals that he only did this after they’d been intimate - as though because he’d had access to her body then - it ought still be extended even when she was in the loo. So that’s possibly why she didn’t speak up about it before b’cos she knew he would blurt out that it was after sex in a way I now see as inappropriate now too. He would always try to prove he was in the right by saying well because we had sex that means what I did was ok. So she couldn’t bring it up b’cos he’d shame her for it - as he knew she didn’t want their private life being aired. Eeuuw. I thought she was being a bit of a prude about not wanting to admit to them having a sex life but now I see how he actually weaponised it against her. Horrible misogynist masquerading under the cheeky Welsh boyo persona. Poor Grace! He’s almost more sinister than Ratboi who at least is overtly rather than covertly toxic 😬

Wow... He sounds deranged.
No wonder April thought it was a good idea to date him after the show. Two villains.

Just watching the Ash section again on this link and am shocked that I missed Paul trying to blame Grace for not standing up for herself! They have literally had her asking him to change in EVERY SCENE which is why so many people found her nagging and annoying! People need to really think on why they found a woman asking to be heard annoying when she was saying she wasn't being heard.

www.thesun.co.uk/tv/37232823/mafs-grace-ash-picked-bathroom-lock-while-inside/

I haven’t watched last nights episode yet but I was reading comments on social media and amazingly a lot of people are still defending Ash. And they were angry that he had been called or made out to be a bully? It seemed like only a minority were calling him out on instagram.

I’ve just read the article and if he’s saying the bathroom thing happened once and Grace is saying it happened multiple times I’m going to go with what she says!

As I said earlier there’s probably a reason this apparently charming, personable man couldn’t make it work with his young kids mother or his ex- fiance.

The truth is I don’t think he ever really liked Grace much beyond the physical and was more wrapped up in getting sex and maintaining his image to the others/the public.

I’m glad she’s out of this now and hope this doesn’t leave her with long term issues and she doesn’t feel too violated. I had an ex do something similar when I was in the shower once back in my 20s, it was very unpleasant.

Mafsisback · 06/11/2025 05:24

I saw Graces post about the production company sanitising things, it’s interesting they haven’t posted a clip of her and Ash from last night on the MAFS insta page. Either they will do it today or they’re protecting Ash from what I hope is a change in viewers opinion towards him and Grace due to bathroom gate.

WildFlowerBees · 06/11/2025 06:42

Why didn’t anyone call out Ash’s behaviour around the bathroom as predatory. It’s not fun, the doors locked for a reason.

Also Abi I feel is so fake, I’m not sure who can declare the rest of their lives after 7 weeks. This whole season has been peppered with toxic people, it’s not a show about love and perhaps with clever editing it doesn’t appear the experts really hold those who show such traits accountable.

opencecilgee · 06/11/2025 08:06

@Mafsisback

i dont think Ash has young kids?

I thought it was shocking behaviour. Even if Grace had just gone in for a good cry she is entitled to privacy. It does suggest quite a nasty streak and disrespect of her boundaries, whether we would agree with them or not.

WhisperGold · 06/11/2025 08:22

Wow. That's chaged my view on Grace & Ash. I liked her but thought she complained too much.
She didn't complain enough!
This show doesn't meet its duty of care to the cast.

And that is probably why we haven't seen half of what he was up to, because they know that if they show they were complicit they'd get more ofcom complaints and legal rebuke for lack of care.

What age did you think his kid was? From I understand his child is around two. So yeah definitely very young and tbh I’d class anyone under 10ish as a young kid so even if he’s slightly older than that still young.

EveryMeandEveryYou · 06/11/2025 08:55

You can really see how hard he has worked on his image there! "He seems like one of the most innocent ones on MAFS UK this year"

Hahahaha, famous last words.

There is nothing worse than feeling manipulated into having sex.
John made a good effort. Rhy's theme park, no way, dressed like a 13 year old lad.
Leisha deserves better, than his minimum efforts.

Really weird behaviour. Even for a partner of 20 odd years, who’s seen you give birth. If you go to the bathroom and lock the door, they’d respect your privacy, unless they’re worried about you. And certainly wouldn’t say whatever he said: something like being an engineer he’ll always find a way to open the lock!

He’s the type that brushes off predatory, sexist, entitled, patriarchal, handsy behaviour as ‘a bit of fun’, a compliment or some sort of foreplay. He’s described in summaries as an ‘old school gent’. Seems code for Benny Hill vibes.

The ‘Tomboy Barbie’ comment would’ve done it for me.

Exactly! It’s a horrible feeling.

Haven’t watched yet but I saw a clip from that theme park and yeah I did think - poor Leisha! Unless I’m missing something and that’s the kind of date she wanted.

Postcardsender · 06/11/2025 09:25

I am confused by this bathroom door thing - it’s just such a weird and inexplicable thing to do. I can see why a violent attacker might break down a door but picking a lock “for a joke” just isn’t funny.

Having said that, if you have a strong relationship otherwise, it’s the sort of thing you can sternly say ‘Not Ok, Not Funny’ partner says sorry and is suitably sheepish, and never does it again.
They clearly have a totally dysfunctional relationship in every way where neither party has been comfortable or able to be their true self and they are both acting out their extremes.
Also, this is MAFS series 10 - we all know how it works - if anyone is really squeamish about talking about “intimacy” outside the bedroom then it is probably not what they should audition for…

EmeraldShamrock000 · 06/11/2025 09:32

Davide and Keye. ❤️
Abi is a lovely person underneath the crazy smile.
Nail biting for Grace, Ash is disgraceful, no respect for personal boundaries. The bathroom door is weird. DH would never do this, privacy, he's a weirdo.

EmeraldShamrock000 · 06/11/2025 09:50

JaneJeffer · 06/11/2025 01:10

I think they are both relieved to find someone who isn’t put off by unnerving wild eyed smiling because they do it too. Imagine what their kids will be like

That's their future child. 😅😁

beachwalker76 · 06/11/2025 10:41

There was a brief moment [I think when discussing the swops]...when Ash's mask slipped and pulled a quick horrible grin - couldn't help himself as I think he briefly remembered some misdoing - then so quickly checked himself.

He then reverted to the innocent, loveable chap with the crazy wife and the woe-is-me expression. She 'doesn't know who he is' [repeat 100 times]....well we do, and who would want to.

Ok Ash…you lost me now. Picking bathroom door locks, I’d have flung my sh*t at him if he did that to me!

He did what ??

i haven’t seen last nights episode yet so I’ve not heard this

that’s a step too far - bathrooms are private

I saw that <shudder>

Imagine having to live in an apartment with a strange man where the only privacy you get is in the bathroom and then he picks the lock? The ixpirts should have given him a proper bollocking but instead Paul said I’ve done all those things too. WTF?!

i think he meant that level
of intimacy (bathroom door open/unlicked) but added that was only after 23 years of marriage.

I was focussing on Paul has a wife?

Mymaloy · 06/11/2025 11:26

Oh my goodness. The ash and Grace chats were an eye opener. I did think we were probably not getting all the details. And I did like Grace and wonder if she was being edited to be cast a certain way.

but omg! Opening the toilet lock and trying to justify it as ever ok is absolutely shocking !
