Anyone seen this? I’ve always liked VB and did enjoy this insight into her fashion business but I did find when she was talking about how she nearly lost the business I lost some sympathy. I have no doubt it was stressful but having a millionaire husband to bail you out isn’t the same as what other people deal with when they lose a business and I thought it was a bit tone deaf of her to be sat crying about it when there’s a COL crisis!

Harper is turning out to be a lovely young lady and seemed to have a nice relationship with both V and D.

I’m not rich enough to buy her clothes or a huge fan.. but I liked it. I watched all three episodes in a row and felt quite sorry for her. Kind of wanted to give her a hug.

beaniebabby · 10/10/2025 23:23

It was never going to be particularly "real" as she has always projected a persona.

Pomped · 10/10/2025 23:31

FeckedInFrance · 10/10/2025 22:27

Like VB, but found the programme very dull. I wanted to like I, but I struggled through it and switched off in episode 2. I then went on to watch the Harry & Meghan series on Netflix because it was recommended by their algorithm but found that even more boring. Not sure I’ll bother with a Netflix documentary again.

You need to change the algorithm as there is much more on Netflix… check out the trainwreck episodes for a start.

I haven’t watched the VB doc yet but based on this thread I probably won’t bother…that’s despite me tending to like her (as a teenage spice girl fan) - the hive mind suggests it’s probably not worth the time investment!

For what it’s worth I think her fashion label is confused and that has been its downfall. It’s never going to be “high fashion” and she probably would have done better with a high end high street partnership (thinking Reiss etc) rather than alienating 95% of potential customers. I know she had a make up and skin care brand for a while too….no idea if that’s still going.

ForFunGoose · 10/10/2025 23:47

I think she was very brave to go into fashion against the odds. A failure would have been humiliating for her, Having a rich husband was a hindrance more than a help.

Nit everything is about money.

Tryingatleast · 10/10/2025 23:59

Sat behind a group of women on the bus who were giggling about how obvious it is their marriage is in trouble and I wanted to say ‘oh you must all have very perfect marriages and experiences of having so many kids. Aren’t you lucky your husbands must still be infatuated with you after so many years of marriage’. I openly tsked when they joked about how skinny she was and got a look and a roll of the eyes. People are such assholes about celebrities

Yes, but the issue with this programme isn’t that she’s not ‘real’ in it. It’s that it doesn’t seem to be projecting a persona at all. It’s just dull and she comes across as dull and lacking in inspiration or real talent. Which is hard to believe as there must be something about her. The clothes are actually quite beautiful. How does she go about creating them? What is her process? Where does she get her inspiration from?

It hard to believe that neither the programme makers nor VB noticed how dull it was. My conclusion is that perhaps there’s nothing there. I’m reluctant to conclude that because it proves people like Brian Sewell, AA Gill (or DH) right.

Yes I forgot to mention I thought David seemed irritated with her most of the time, even when he was trying to be nice it seemed to have an undercurrent of annoyance!

You’ve sold it to me. I wasn’t going to watch but will fast forward to the bits with DB because I am so nosey.

NewGirlInTown · 11/10/2025 02:54

I enjoyed this. VB is so underrated.
I will never be able to afford her clothing range, but her beauty products are absolutely fantastic and well worth the money.
The eye pencils last for ever and are a joy to use. Good on her. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

This. I found their dynamics really sad in his documentary. I felt like they seem unhappy. She chasing him and him not giving a crap about her. He seems like a self-pitying, ego-driven, depressed man and she seems sadly desperate to keep it looking better than it is. I felt sorry for them.

Starseeking · 11/10/2025 03:12

I enjoyed watching all 3 episodes of this this evening, so much so that I drank wine by myself, which I never do lol I like VB although I agree with the other poster who said she should have left her top lip alone; it looks awful, I found myself staring at it constantly.

It was funny that she admitted leaving the boobs in Madrid…yet back in the day she used to deny having had surgery, despite the fact we could all see these giant (for her frame) orbs which did not previously exist.

More of the family stuff would have made it more interesting (she references Madrid in passing, and we have all heard what allegedly happened there), and although Brooklyn is mentioned as a baby, nothing is said about why he never appears with the family.

slapdashsusie · 11/10/2025 04:18

I wanted to like this show and saw it as a way for Victoria to have her own voice after David’s show last year. I found the three episodes very dull and I tuned out a lot.
It was confusing though- she and David have many hand-wringing conversations about the 54 million dollar hole she has dug them into, there’s some potential investor, then crickets until she receives an ‘entrepreneur of the year award’. I’m sorry, an award for what? Out of control debt?

Empress13 · 11/10/2025 05:06

His documentary was definitely more interesting. I don’t like or dislike her tbh. She was a normal girl who made good by being in a top girl band and marrying a famous footballer. The Beckhams are a brand and will fight tooth and nail to stay together whatever the cost. IMO the doc was just her promoting her fashion empire we didn’t really get to learn about the real her.

MooDengOfThailand · 11/10/2025 05:12

It's rumoured that they've been separated for many years but stay together because of brand Beckham.
She keeps talking about this eating disorder as if it's in the past, when clearly it isn't.

She's done well for someone with no taste or talent.

Deeprug · 11/10/2025 05:15

It was so, so boring. Imagine using your own production company and still coming across like this. She was portrayed as having no personality whatsoever. Plus why so much about fashion? Surely most people don't give a shit! Can anyone who's in the know, advise if she is a good fashion designer? She just looks rich and spoilt, like the people doing the work would roll their eyes when she walks in.

Did David have multiple affairs or was it just RL? I think their marriage seemed pretty normal tbh. I think he was trying to come across as funny and real. Me and dh irritate other sometimes.

But ultimately I came away not liking her at all as there was nothing shown to like. We didn't get any insight into her at all.

Yes, I'd find it very hard to stick with someone who's had a decades long eating disorder and everything that it entails.
I'd have bailed by now.
But he hasn't. She must know where all the bodies are buried

Lampzade · 11/10/2025 06:14

She would be better off if she divorced David .
That man is no longer in love with her , it is glaringly obvious .
Fame has gone to his head. He is a complete and utter dickhead .

nopiesleftinthisvehicle · 11/10/2025 06:36

The only good thing was the old Spice girl/young David clips and the peek at their Cotswolds mansion.

Oh - and Tom Ford! Had never seen him before and even asked Alexa if he was heterosexual. 😍

HollyBollyBooBoo · 11/10/2025 06:47

Watched the first episode and won’t be watching any more, so incredibly dull.

beaniebabby · 11/10/2025 07:00

They do some very mismatched. He is very relaxed/natural with the fame & likes cooking, eating etc. She seems so insecure & stiff. I don't understand why she craves being famous so much then she doesn't seem comfortable with it.

Untailored · 11/10/2025 07:13

This thread is depressing. So much negativity and bitching about a woman who has made a success of her life, despite some tough moments. Is sneering about her business, her marriage, her parenting, her looks, the best we can do as women?

CatsForLife · 11/10/2025 07:14

I too felt a bit sorry for her. It was very obvious she was clinging to keeping the Brand Beckham afloat and David acted like he barely tolerated her. Hard to take anything she says seriously due to denials she’s made about lots of things over the years which have proved to be true. In the first ep when she says she “hasn’t had chocolate since the 90s and not going to start now”. Said tongue-in-cheek but clearly true. She must be very unhappy and insecure with him. I genuinely think they should call time now. Wonder when Brooklyn will reveal where the bodies are buried!

The negative posts indicate to me a lot of jealousy. They’re sad people who can’t stand to see successful people.

Agree with this! I giggled when she zipped that jacket collar over her face; not sure that is a look I’d ever go for! However her makeup is exceptional and worth the money. The lipstick in particular is the best I’ve ever used.

I cannot for the life of me understand why any parent would make their dc part of their brand & expose them so publicly particularly when they don't even need the money. Most celebs keep their dc very private.

Why is it wrong or jealous to say the above? The whole issue with turning yourself into a brand is people are going to comment on that brand/you.

Icebreakhell · 11/10/2025 07:29

These reality programmes only do well when the subject is natural and open eg David Beckham, Stacey Solomon, Olivia Attwood, Danny Dyer. She is neither, a guarded, insecure and controlling individual. She also lies eg the boob job, affairs, eating disorder- all denied for years. So it didn’t work. They don’t seem happy but maybe it’s just that she’s uncomfortable in front of a camera. She always was, even back in her Spice Girl days. Being on stage always seemed an odd choice for her.

I’m glad she found something fulfilling and her brand did well, albeit propped up by their fortune. She seems like a nice person.
