A TV documentary that follows the work of a police force will show how the investigation into the actions of a teenage killer unfolded.

Nicholas Prosper used a shotgun to kill his mother Juliana Falcon, 48, his brother Kyle, 16, and his 13-year-old sister, Giselle, at their home in Luton on 13 September 2024.
The 19-year-old, who was arrested in the hours after the murders, was jailed for 49 years in March. A trial heard he intended to carry out a shooting at his former primary school.

The Channel Four series 24 Hours in Police Custody, which follows the work of investigators at Bedfordshire Police, will feature the case over two nights on 5 and 6 October.

Yes, I was looking for a thread! The massive change in his story was very obvious. There were hints he was having an affair or up to something dodgy.

I was looking for a thread but figure these 2 shows are quite similar. Anyway - thought it was very well done. He didn’t sound convincing on the 999 call either. The poor son.

Almost identical, long shots of the police station, bloke in charge building false jeopardy ( I am aware this may be due to the editing), little hints dropped like him going missing from time to time, no phone evidence at all yet, save that for part two.

What I couldn’t understand is how they didn’t search his house? If they had they would have found the bloody clothes. I wonder who it was that tipped them off. Maybe the new woman.

I think that the editing is a bit disingenuous. All of the first responders were suspicious immediately. I bet it went to the Major Crime Team within hours, if not straight away, as a suspected murder.

They have to secure the scene initially and allow the crime scene investigators to forensically examine the scene for DNA, finger prints, blood spatter analysis etc etc. You wouldn’t immediately start searching a house until the forensics had been done and also get an actual idea of what had happened. You don’t want a load of cops tramping through a scene before all forensic opportunities have been exhausted. This can also mean that you speak to a suspect who provides a version of events that isn’t backed up by the forensics but again you may have missed the opportunity to test the suspect’s story if the scene has been trashed by a load of cops randomly rooting through a house.

Yes but they found them half way through the trial!

One thought I had, during his initial interviews, was how many countries around the world his (the man's) account would have been accepted and the case closed.

Oh I watched both parts on iplayer last night. Sorry if I have told anyone what happens. Assumed as both parts were on iplayer both had been played

I was surprised at how long it took to spot the inconsistencies. When it was obvious immediately. Or was it just the way it had been edited.

Well it's obvious he is going down as they show him from the start so no problem.

I do think they edit these shows to add jeopardy, there is always a crowd available who just happens to be there when the CPS makes the all important calls.

I was once a very minor part of a very minor TV reality show and they filmed our " surprise " faces 5 times until we acted surprised enough.

I was very surprised that the clothing wasn't found until after after the 1st trial.

Surely, they should have noticed he had cleaned up and changed clothing. Even i noticed his t shirt when the police arrived was suspiciously devoid of blood which if you do any kind of work on a stab victim, you get covered in.

I do think there was a bit of a botch in the initial investigation but it was so obvious he was lying.

It's unbelievable that a proper search of the house was not done .

If he had disposed of the clothing properly he might have got away with it. What a selfish excuse of a man.
