A TV documentary that follows the work of a police force will show how the investigation into the actions of a teenage killer unfolded.

Nicholas Prosper used a shotgun to kill his mother Juliana Falcon, 48, his brother Kyle, 16, and his 13-year-old sister, Giselle, at their home in Luton on 13 September 2024.
The 19-year-old, who was arrested in the hours after the murders, was jailed for 49 years in March. A trial heard he intended to carry out a shooting at his former primary school.

The Channel Four series 24 Hours in Police Custody, which follows the work of investigators at Bedfordshire Police, will feature the case over two nights on 5 and 6 October.

Nicholas Prosper jailed for at least 49 years for Luton triple murders

After killing his family in their tower block in Luton, Nicholas Prosper planned to carry out a mass shooting at his former primary school.

I thought it was a very boring episode of 24 Hours this one.
we already knew about the encro thing from the previous episode and ultimately they still didn't catch a big player and the sentences of who they did catch were all pretty short.

Yep, agree with all of this.

Special about Zombie Knives on currently.

Toddlerteaplease · 20/01/2026 22:29

Absolutely shocking. No one needs a knife like those.

purpleme12 · 22/01/2026 14:51

This one is hard to watch. I am in tears seeing his poor mums grief. Such a tragic waste of life. I am so glad these things have been banned.

ThePure · 22/01/2026 23:33

And the very unpleasant Elias brothers making a fortune flogging these things knowing full well that they are profiteering from the deaths of young boys from deprived areas. It’s disgusting.

Lalgarh · 22/01/2026 23:43

And claimed £360k compensation as part of the knife amnesty for surrendering their own stash

It was implied that they also imported huge numbers of knives to exploit the £10 amnesty payment. For example, they paid £5 per knife in China and then claimed £10 per knife from the government. I think that's why they 'surrendered' tens of thousands of knives.

They are a disgrace. Devoid of any morals.

Mumsknot · 23/01/2026 13:47

It was disgusting. Dp and I were open mouthed! I cannot believe that they were allowed to keep on profiting when clearly their weapons were being used to slaughter people. Just disgraceful

"I absolutely can’t stand it when the charging officer is all matey with the offender"

I think the desk officer's job is to be 'good cop' and not like those 'other cops'. They're supposed to calm it all down and check them into custody. They do it day in, day out. The last thing the station needs is constant drama, violence, etc.

In a previous episode one of the police remarked that the more senior the criminal, the politer they are. Low level criminals play gangster and shout abuse at the officers whereas high level criminals treat the arrest as part of the job and don't make it personal.

That was the episode where they'd used a drug mule's car's dashcam to identify a major heroin supplier. He was very polite and was shown phoning his primary school aged son, from the custody desk, on his birthday. I think he got serious time.

Yes he did. He got 21 years. I worked alongside him for years and years and I’m still in shock with what he did but wondered for a long time how on earth he was able to afford his lifestyle.

Oh wow, she got full custody.

This made me so happy! I just watched this two-parter last night and it was obvious to me from the text conversations between Sam and her father, and also what Alderton said to camera in his cell about how 'people in Texas' deal with these things (presumably Paul Stephen is from TX?), that the three of them cooked up the plan together. Sam was very careful not to implicate herself directly in their text conversations, but the way she never questioned what her father was saying, the way he said at one point 'these conversations must be deleted', that she shared Gary's address with him, when he'd have absolutely no other reason for needing to know where Gary lived, that when they were first arrested she didn't name her father as someone who could care for the kids, made it all very clear that she knew what he was going to do. Sadly, circumstantial evidence is often not enough for the CPS to proceed, but it was clear to the police what had happened and the programme made it clear to viewers too.

As for Alderton's motive - he had nothing much to live for after his wife's death and presumably felt that whatever happened to him after the killings would be worth it if Sam could get her happy ever after in America without Josh standing in her way. So to read that she and Paul had skipped off the US as soon as they were cleared was sickening and made me feel that that the three of them had been rewarded by getting exactly the outcome they wanted. So, it was sweet, well bittersweet, to see that Mandy has been granted SOLE custody of her grandson. That poor boy Sad The whole story was just heart breaking.

Florencesndzebedee · 27/01/2026 21:13

Anyone watching tonight’s on Carson Grimes? Absolutely depraved and the comment he made at the custody desk. Horrible.

Lalgarh · 27/01/2026 21:27

Thanks for the heads-up

purpleme12 · 27/01/2026 21:27

I read what it would be about and I wasn't sure how bad it would be and if it would be too much

Florencesndzebedee · 27/01/2026 21:37

It’s so grim and awful.

PinkFrogss · 27/01/2026 22:23

A really emotional watch.

Disgusting how he only seemed to care about making it known he hadn’t taken drugs, and wanting to stay in prison. Absolutely no reaction to the charges being read out.

My heart absolutely broke for the men, especially the one who came forward as a teenager just to be dismissed.

The police seemed quite convinced there were bones somewhere in the garden they just weren’t able to find them. I wonder if there was more information they couldn’t share for legal reasons.

I hope they find a reason to shove him in the grittiest prison.

RosePetalsRose · 27/01/2026 23:31

Bus Driver at the garage came across as if he was lying. Very quick to deny remembering Carson and kept looking at other bus driver as if to say don’t say anything (i dont think they were involved in his crimes they just didnt want to get involved with the police)

RosePetalsRose · 27/01/2026 23:48

This Carson guy needs to be investigated more. I dont doubt he has committed more sexual crimes. Also police need to look at his previous addresses and missing boys cases.

I thought the same

LandofTute · 27/01/2026 23:51

The woman who found the bones should really have checked with the police rather than just wrongly assuming there used to be a cemetery there. I wonder what she did with the bones.

I thought that but then thought if he was lying surely he wouldn’t have agreed to being on TV.

If someone was asking me about small details from decades ago it would take me a lot longer to think about it and try to remember.

Femalefootyfan · 28/01/2026 17:05

I recalled watching the first episode of last nights programme and thinking what a vile piece of scum this guy was. I’m really not surprised that more men came forward and I believe more might come forward after the follow up episode. I had really hoped he’d get moved from the cushy prison but he wasn’t.

I also believe the bus drivers knew more but didn’t want to be associated with knowing Grimes, it was the speed with which one denied knowing him and the looks to the other driver.

Those men were so brave and courageous to go to court to look him in the eye and to speak up and to give their permission to be shown on tv,
