I just rewatched the Commitment Ceremony (fell asleep during it in the week) and the grimace of pain on Sarah’s face when Paul said:
“As long as you’re continuing to make progress, week after week after week, think of where you’ll be at the end”.
I really feel in these scenarios, where there’s zero sexual attraction, it’s v unfair to give hope to the person who isn’t fancied by expecting the other person to work on trying to make sexual attraction develop. It’s flogging a dead horse. Same as Emma and Caspar last year. She reminded him of his sister FFS.
There’s a name for someone you get on great with, share values, habits and hobbies with, but don’t fancy: A Friend.
But there’s no excuse to be disrespectful, by saying things like ‘the ick’ or ‘care bear’. She just doesn’t fancy him. You can’t possibly fancy everyone.
