So, I don't usually look things up but someone mentioned Steven yesterday and there's something on TT about him having given a woman 100 roses just before she saw he had gone and got married for national TV. She had no idea.

His club fight sounds fishy to me...

yes there’s a big video on TikTok, I didn’t understand the whole thing because it was quite full on and manic but the gist is that he’s not honest. Not surprised, Nelly’s gut seemed to be screaming at her loud and clear.

Also saw on Reddit ex schoolmate of Sarah (apparently) who said that is completely Sarah’s character that we see on mafs and that she is / was also a performer or wannabe performer

Yeah the experts passed it off as a flaw when Nelly was saying she was worried, but there's something wolfish in Steven's smile when he looks down at her I don't like. She's getting vibes from something and as you say you do also need to trust your gut.

I don't mind Sarah, I feel at least she has been honest and I know I wouldn't be able to live with a guy like that and not be able to say anything negative to my friends after a week. She's doing well not to run away I think! I think she would have been happy with anyone who wasn't quite so try hard. It's just not an attractive quality at all and he comes across as completely fake and a performer, so she is kind of just there as his side-kick. I think she should have asked for more dirt on what he did to the women he dated when he was thin. I bet there was a lot of gaslighting there too.

I saw the TT about Steven. Seems he was seeing someone exclusively, said he was going away for work and then turned his phone off for six weeks. At one point he started messaging her from a burner phone (which seems to align with the honeymoon) and when he returned he said something about getting a part in a drama with Sheridan Smith (who hasn’t 😂) and that he was away for production reasons. I think they got back together briefly and then when she saw he was announced on MAFS she contacted him and he blocked her.

I think Nelly would have been like that with anyone as it’s her own trust issues, but maybe she’s picking up vibes.

That's insane, but I can imagine it.
Sadly, having had a string of cheating exes, I do think your spidey senses are super on point. She doesn't seem to be acting negatively, but I think asking him about fancying other wives was OTT. I know why she did it as she will have picked up mico-reactions from him instantly, but the risk is the messaging that she feels inferior, which a lot of men immediately turn off from and use as an excuse to go off with someone they perceive as "less needy". Men simply don't want to spend time reassuring, they want the girl everyone wants, and that's rarely the girl worrying that her guy isn't seeing her as that. It's all a very fickle game really. Finding a guy who wants a stable home rather than a flashy girl on his arm that makes his friends jealous is hard in this world of Andrew Tate!

We are in a very weird time right now, it feels like in some ways sexually we have evolved and become hugely liberated and in others we’ve gone right back to the sexist sensibilities of the 70s and then the ‘noughties’ .
From day one he looked exactly ‘that kind of bloke’ to me, I was surprised at how he was responding to Nelly because it really belied the way I’d perceived/ judged him.

Having watched the trailer for tomorrow's episode. I'd love it if Keye had heard him on his burner phone, in the half an hour phone call he'd had with Melissa to try explain his absence. But I don't think it's been that long yet, ie: the 6 weeks

Nice bit of drama to look forward to tomorrow, I hope everyone apologises to Nelly in the expert panel for making her feel like she’s being too needy when all along she’s likely sensed that he’s a wrong un.

Yeah I agree. I think she’s picking up on something that is probably so minor but there enough for her to question the process.

When I got with my ex my gut instinct right from the get go was telling me he wasn’t genuine or trustworthy but in my stupid naivety I thought it was me. Turns out, it wasn’t - and I spent 7 years trying to figure out this man who didn’t deserve my time.

Poor Steven. He was just trying to live his life like an honest bloke, when the MAFS producers headhunted him and conned him into taking part on their show. How can he be to blame? He was between jobs when this “job opportunity” fell on his lap. He didn’t seek it out in any way whatsoever. He’s the victim of coercion.

I don’t like the so called experts. Their track record is abysmal. Anyone else would have been struck off by now!

Yeah the desperate guy in the office everyone has friend-zoned, who always goes for the youngest new office juniors and plies them with booze at the Christmas party, tells the whole office they shagged and they are the love of their life and makes them have to leave. We all have known one of those. Everyone thinks he is so nice, but not for them...isn't it a shame it never works out for them, poor love.
