Where There's Cake, There's Hope...Bake Off 25

The new series starts on Tuesday 2nd September and the bakers have been named. A few weeks earlier than recent seasons, so taking us nicely from late summer through to the cosiness of autumn.

No change to the team of Paul, Prue, Noel and Alison, which I thought worked well last year - it was a warmer and kinder programme than it has been for a few years.

The usual eclectic mix of contestants, but less of an age spread than some years - a lot of 30 somethings, no-one under 20 or over 60.

Anyone else excited for this season?

He might be able to cover it with buttercream and turn it into a mountain?

I think he just about salvaged it. From the outside anyway - let's see what happens when they cut it.

It might taste good but the texture would probably be puddingy.

Did Iain make the cars or were they pre bought?

It seems to have been OK in the end.

sittingonabeach · 02/09/2025 21:17

Saved it

CrushingOnRubies · 02/09/2025 21:18

Love the blue sea on Nadia’s cake …. Oh maybe the look not the taste and texture then

Pancakeflipper · 02/09/2025 21:18

Oooh I do like a black forest cake.

mumofoneAloneandwell · 02/09/2025 21:19

Now that is a cool cake

If you're going to do a victoria sponge, it's got to be perfectly done.

Why is the show still not on catch up?

PrincessScarlett · 02/09/2025 21:21

Laighton might be in trouble

Wolbutter · 02/09/2025 21:21

So glad Natalia's is delicious! Looks great. And if I had to go to someone's for tea and cake it would be Lesley - that looked delicious, really well baked and not gimmicky

Why is the show still not on catch up?

It finishes at 9:30pm so it might no be on catch up until the show finishes

I like toms the best

PrincessScarlett · 02/09/2025 21:24

Looks so nice

Hes redeemed himself from the technical

Ellmau · 02/09/2025 21:24

Tom. Jessika or Natalia for the win this week?

Leighton to go?

Pancakeflipper · 02/09/2025 21:24

It was very sharp looking. So neat and that must be tough when doing a landscape

Ellmau · 02/09/2025 21:25

Well done Nataliia!

PrincessScarlett · 02/09/2025 21:25

Yay Nataliia 🎉

littlbrowndog · 02/09/2025 21:25

yay

PrincessScarlett · 02/09/2025 21:25

Wow! Hassan. Not expecting that. And neither was Laighton

Ellmau · 02/09/2025 21:25

Poor Hassan. Because his baking wasn't that bad, it was the presentation that was below par.

CrushingOnRubies · 02/09/2025 21:25

Correct decision for both star baker and who is leaving
