... watching a movie.
I'll go first.
Sandra Bullock and Tom Hanks.

Oh, I forgot Johnny Depp.
I've never "got" the hype. And now that he looks like a melted candle that someone has tried to pleasure themselves with, I don't have to.

Sheridan Smith. Vince Vaughn. Will Ferrell. Emma Watson. The Grey haired Scottish actor who always plays someone evil and/ or a solicitor or politician. Dooray thingy, the rent an actor who is in the Harlan corben films. Russell brand. And wee cheeky chappy James nesbitt.

Edited

The Grey haired Scottish actor who always plays someone evil and/ or a solicitor or politician. Brian Cox or Peter Capaldi, both of whom I like, or someone else?

Dooray thingy, the rent an actor who is in the Harlan corben films. Dougray Scott? I like him too.

I met someone once who has met Tom Cruise and a few other American actors on set and he said he is so lovely and down to earth and happy to have his photo done with all the set crew and very generous with time and money. Another person I was chatting to worked in a posh hotel / gym up London as a manager and he said that US actors and celebrities are far nicer than any UK ones tend to be and very polite and fairly ordinary. I was surprised, but I suppose it depends on the places you see them around , if it’s a work setting they are probably a lot more professional maybe ?
I agree that Olivia Coleman was great in Fleabag , but a bit hit or miss with other roles I’ve seen her in.

Devilsmommy · 15/08/2025 14:46

Noomi Rapace. I can't stand her for some reason and she only has one facial expression so her acting is really wooden seeming

the80sweregreat · 15/08/2025 14:49

Rosemund Pike has weird eyes. I watched Gone Girl once and it really put me off the film.

PreciousTatas · 15/08/2025 14:50

Pedro Pascal.

He gives me a slimy feeling, which was only confirmed when I saw him groping a female co-star on the red carpet because he was 'anxious'.

autienotnaughty · 15/08/2025 14:56

Tom hanks
nicolas cage
I’m not a fan of jo Joyner, surrane jones, sally Breton, Sarah Lancashire or Vicky McClure. I wish they would give other actresses a lookin.

Streetsofgold · 15/08/2025 14:59

I cannot bear David Tennant - he gives serious wrong un vibes.

Thanksforyourlackofthought · 15/08/2025 15:18

Emma Watson
Kate Winslet
James Corden
Rebel Wilson

GasperyJacquesRoberts · 15/08/2025 16:23

You put Kate Winslet in the same group as James Cordon!!??!! There's something very wrong with you.

Mark Bonnar?

EnglishSpringerSpanielMum · 15/08/2025 16:36

Richard E Grant (something about his eyes)

PestoHoliday · 15/08/2025 16:40

Cillian Murphy - he's probably a great actor and all but he freaks me out.
Mickey Rourke, who lost his marbles and his face around the same time.
Dakota Johnson, she's a black hole of charisma and actively spoils anything she's in
Liv Tyler, ditto
Jason Statham because his movies are so stupid as to suck IQ points from us while we watch
Channing Tatum, who is probably perfectly nice but again, charisma -free. Good dance sequence in Hail, Caesar, though
Jonah Hill, yuck.

On telly, Joe Wilkinson and Mark Heap. I fully expect them to have dead bodies under their sheds or sex dungeons or something.

RaraRachael · 15/08/2025 16:43

Sean Connery
James Nesbit

Both for the same reason

TheAutumnCrow · 15/08/2025 16:55

Lily James.

Lily James IS Lily James in everything.

Yourinmyspot · 15/08/2025 16:56

MeringueOutang · 14/08/2025 20:42

Tom Cruise
David Tennant (I just get this really malevolent vibe from him and IDK why)

I feel exactly the same about David Tennant and equally don’t know why,

Same here.

StreetStrife · 15/08/2025 17:12

Patrick Brammel gives me the creeps, since I very first saw him in some old Australian sitcom. I can't watch him.

Keira Knightly acting with her teeth. She seems nice enough but I find her teeth a distraction from the plot.

SitOnHisFaceIfHeDiesHeDies · 14/08/2025 22:31

Wow. Tom Hanks is literally the best actor and best famous person alive... how do people not like him?!

yep I love Tom Hanks too

Emma Thompson
Stephen Fry
Anna Maxwell Martin

Oh Jesus yes to all of these!

And also to Keira Knightley, Nicole Kidman, Lily James and why has nobody said Liv Tyler? The woman cannot act.

Oh and a special mention for Beverley Callard. I had to give up Corrie for her.

AgentPidge · 15/08/2025 17:32

Catpiece · 15/08/2025 12:14

Suranne Jones in all those tv dramas. She plays the same part in all of them ie Karen from Corrie. The series might look interesting but if she’s in it I won’t watch.

I loved her in Corrie. She was a bit dim but so funny. Her later roles are her being clever and getting it right all the time.

Middlemarch123 · 15/08/2025 17:36

I love David Tennant, James Corden and Tom Cruise.
I accept I’m in the minority here!

Can’t bear Tom Hanks.

MsFelicityLemon · 15/08/2025 17:50

Tom Cruise. Not interested in any film if he's in it.

Then, partly due to their face-pulling acting:

  • Will Ferrell - always seems to be a scene of him "man baby" crying". Given up on his films.
  • Jim Carey - just no to the gurning faces
  • David Tennet - loath his one his angry/evil/authorities tilt head-back-pulled-mouth face look. Also agrees there's just something malevolent about him

Adam Sandler- can't tolerate when he does his goofy voice to portray a character who is supposedly not intelligent. Adam tends to include a speech impediment too. I just don't bother with his films anymore.

James "two expressions" Nesbit

Then, for equality Kiera Knightly and Emma Watson - not going to bother if they are lead female actress. Might watch if they are support and ive been told its a decentfilm.. Nicole Kidman is starting to make me rethink watching something if she's in it.
