DT was in Secret Smile
And The Politicians Husband
And Bad Samaritan where he's holding a woman captive

Very creepy characters he's drawn to , or writers suggest for him

I think its his "look" more than anything but his acting is quite intense ! A favourite of mine was a BBC Scotland programme Taking over the asylum, he was quite young and he was great in it.

SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius · 25/09/2025 18:25

Eddie Izzard.

saltandvinegarchipsticks · 25/09/2025 18:45

Tom Cruise
Gerard Butler
Adam Sandler
Eddie Murphy
Jim Carrey
Rebel Wilson
Emma Watson
Keira Knightley
Ryan Reynolds (as Ryan Reynolds)
Kristen Stewart
David Tennant unless it’s a role that can carry his level of ham (ie Dr Who)
Amy Schumer
Robin Williams
Eddie Redmayne
Will Ferrell
Channing Tatum
Sylvester Stallone
Daniel Craig
Hugh Jackman (I know, I know)

I used to hate Karen Gillan but she’s growing on me.

Keanu Reeves is wooden but I would let him off even the worst performance as he’s obviously so lovely.

ShesTheAlbatross · 14/08/2025 21:21

Olivia Coleman.

I will grant that she’s great in fleabag. But I find her so annoying in interviews that I find it hard to separate that from things she’s in.

That reminds me, I hate Phoebe Waller Bridge too.

Obviously not on a personal level.

Dogaredabomb · 28/09/2025 06:04

Sally Hawkins! Gag me with a spoon.

nopiesleftinthisvehicle · 28/09/2025 06:51

Hayley from Corrie (too early to type her real surname 🫠)
I stop watching anything she appears in as soon as I see her name.
So the 'Mr Bates' drama was given a miss.

Likewise, Kathryn Kelly is in every series of everything out there.

Suranne Jones is worse than the pair of them put together though. Just can't watch her at all, not even in a 5 minute interview.

There’s a LOT of well used actors from corrie.
agree ref Hayley, same hangdog expression in everything.
Katherine Kelly seems to be really up herself in everything and suranne jones is a borefest in everything.

Sarah Lancashire obviously wiped the floor with everyone in Happy Valley
.
olivia Coleman was the best casting in peep show, everything else I’m very aware I’m watching a performance by Olivia Coleman

Bladderpool · 28/09/2025 08:32

Katherine Kelly exudes smugness. And it doesn’t matter what accent she’s using (northern skank/generic posho) it sounds completely fake.

chunkybear · 28/09/2025 08:40

Steven Segal
blake lively
andy McDowell
Shia LeBeouf
Meghan Markle
Kylie Minogue

I also find PWB insufferable and hate fleabag.

I liked her in Mr Selfridge. She was mischievous.

KimberleyClark · 28/09/2025 19:27

I cannot stand Jessie Buckley. It stems from when she was on one of those Saturday night shows where they would cast someone for a new West End production of a well known musical. This one was Oliver and it was for the part of Nancy in Oliver. Every single week when her name was called out as through to the following week, she would do this Little Girl Lost act, staring in bewildered confusion at Graham Norton before allowing herself to be led away to stand with the other successful Nancys. She did this every single week until she got through to the final. Just unbelievably fake. Fortunately she didn’t get the part, Jodie Prenger did.

Olivia Coleman, she seriously gets on my waz.

me too. she's so overrated. she was fun as Sophie but then just did that over and over again forever

ohyesido · 28/09/2025 19:34

Will Ferrell
Adam Sandler

torn on Jennifer Lawrence as she can’t act but her nude scene in No Hard Feelings is a corker

PrincessC0nsuelaBananaHammock · 28/09/2025 19:47

Sheridan Smith. With the exception of Gavin and Stacey, I refuse to watch anything she's in; I can't stand her.

Coffeeishot · 28/09/2025 19:49

Oh just remembered I can't stand seth rogan is that his name, he is just a massive stoner and really dull

SuperFi · 28/09/2025 19:53

Nichole Kidman her face can’t move anymore, find it off putting

BittyItty · 28/09/2025 20:01

Jennifer Lawrence, Ben stiller, Adam Sandler, gal gadot, Daniel Radcliffe, Kristen Stewart, Jim Carrey (yuck).

Raahh · 28/09/2025 20:19

George Clooney.

Everyone else seems to love him. He just plays....George Clooney and it annoys me.

(He was ok in E.R).

KillMeMounjaro · 29/09/2025 01:40

Eddie Redmayne. Looks 12 going on 40 🤮
Nicola Walker
David Tennant (obv)
Channing Tatum
Owen Wilson
Stephen Graham (he's always the same!)

Dogaredabomb · 29/09/2025 02:15

Yes, agree re Stephen Graham, he's slid onto my shit list too. And Nicola Walker.
Also Imelda Staunton apart from in Vera Blake
Alison Steadman
Maureen Lipman
Eve Myles
Vicky McClure
Martin Compston

Looking at the other posts it's all the domestic actors that we're getting sick of, largely. They're over booking from the same small pool and it's a treat when they think just a bit harder with the casting.

There's lots of fantastic underused actors.

BlueEyedBogWitch · 29/09/2025 03:00

David Tennant.

Smug, shouty, and with the look of a rat that’s been suddenly turned into a human and now has notions.
