The letters represented the countries bordering Switzerland - possibly in the country's own language as I think there was a D?

£100k is a drop in the ocean for the BBC budget. And even if they didn't devise the format, I'm sure they can still sell the show.

I think all the letters were the number plate codes for that country, so D was Germany, I Italy, FL Lichtenstein etc. CH for Switzerland was missing.

Ahhh! All we could come up with was FI?LA?D. Finland! We were pretty sure it wasn’t that.

Frustrating that Dawn has gone out (she's the only one who didn't irk me), but looking for the letters on the map didn't help her. Looks like they're all about to start tearing each apart with the game playing accusations...but wait, it's not a team game, there's only one prize!

Yeah @TitsInAbsentia the obvious strategy here is to pretend to be thick whilst taking it all in

I watched it last night and thought the same thing.

They must have all shared where they put their X for the first guess. Dawn was so far away from the others that they felt she was likely going home. when she didn’t and someone with their X near the rest of them went home it meant that Dawn must have been close to the correct destination.

It’s a shame she went home last night given she was spot on with Paris and only 5km further away from Matterhorn than someone else. She seemed nice too. I bet the losing team were surprised someone from the winning team who got an extra clue went home.

Ah well, I missed episode 2 but having read the comments on here, I didn't miss all that much. When's the next one on?

Looks like episode 3 is on Weds 6th. Me and DH watched 1&2, can't remember names but really not liking the 2 that pressed the buttons. Agree the bloke that left early just wasted someone else's opportunity, what was the point?

Eight programmes left but only seven players. If the original series was planned for the exact number of contestants but one abandoned the show, I wonder how they're going to work out the eliminations? Maybe they'll bring someone back like in the Traitors?

Assuming some of the ditched 3 from the start will make a comeback a la Traitors? The bigger twist would be that they don't!

I think elimination shows build in a way of having a reserve list in case someone needs to leave at any point. Bringing people back and then deciding if one or two of them make the main group is one way. I think they need to bring them back in episode three or four though as it’s not fair on those playing the game now to give them a pass to say episode 6.

It was also a bit harsh to show police woman in orange jacket saying ‘I’m going to win it’ two minutes before she failed to get out of the terminal on the first day. I think she is coming back and will be really good. None of those three looked disappointed when they were told they were ‘leaving’ the show so I think they already knew it was not forever.

I enjoyed this and thought it was fascinating. Some of the characters are a bit irritating but I suppose that's the point. Apparently some old faces will be brought back in future episodes. I am hoping for karma for those who I have taken a dislike to.

Watched 2 episodes. Episode 2 better than 1 but maybe because got more into it.

I got Alsace. I've been to Mulhouse.

But then the bus drove more and more - so on those roads, you could be anywhere....

I would hate to be on a coach without windows in Europe. I love driving through Europe.

I wonder how they handled taking the coach into Switzerland - and the border crossing. I remember that even though it's in Schengen, you do seem to have to at least go through a proper crossing - which would have been a massive clue to them.

I'm watching again now to see if I spot the clues more easily this time. Watching with partner who's not seen it yet but has been to Colmar and Mulhouse (with me) so wondering if he'll work out what's going on.

They went through the Jura and I don’t recall any border crossing points there. How would they not have realised there were getting on a cable car, and having to don jackets etc for altitude.

What clothes do you pack for this trip!!!

What do they do about meals? Coffee stops....

Does the coach travel at night?

It's funny watching with someone else. He got the V on rose(s) - La Vie en Rose - immediately.

Still can't work out why they became obsessed with Austria. Switzerland would have been a more logical guess if convinced they'd travelled over mountains.

What about exercise?
Being on a coach continuously can't be good for your health.
