Anyone planning on watching this?

Rob Brydon hosts as contestants are driven around Europe in a blacked out bus, trying to guess where they are. I’ve seen clips of the US Version, it might be good!

I found that easier to understand than last nights effort.
It was so obviously’ Matterhorn ‘ as the big clue.
I hate cable cars, so I’d be very reluctant to do any of that.
Nick is so devious , but didn’t click his button.

Serenster · 31/07/2025 22:24

They were frustratingly bad at reading the clues. “Throne in Mart” was a low point. We spotted that Rob was decked out like he was in a James Bond lair too - another nod to the Swiss alps.

I was also amused at Saskia throwing shade at Nick for admitting he’d play the game for himself, when she herself had pressed her button earlier!

Tourist29 · 31/07/2025 22:25

I thought the most devious one was the one who pressed her button, lied that she did it by accident, didn’t want to share the map information (not that either of those helped her) and then tried to lead the running man into saying he was playing a game.

the80sweregreat · 31/07/2025 22:27

Saskia is trying to be horrible , but not entirely on board with being devious! She isn’t like this normally I bet, but starting to doubt other people.
sorry Dawn left , she was nice.

I thought the second episode made a lot more sense

I agree. The fact the clues all pointed to the same country made it easier to follow. I'd already guessed Switzerland from Rob Brydon's multi functional knife comment at the end of episode 1 🤣

bizzey · 31/07/2025 22:39

Did Rob make any cryptic comment at the end of this episode?
I Might have missed it.

BlueyNeedsToFuckOff · 31/07/2025 22:43

If he did I missed it as well

I Might have missed it.

He said something about time - and Switzerland is famous for clocks. Or maybe, like the Masked Singer, I'm just latching onto anything and that was completely unintentional!

bizzey · 01/08/2025 00:00

I do feel though, that following this thread with you all is really helping me cheat and solve work out all the clues !

I might have to watch one episode on my own to see if I have really hot the hang of it !
😂😂

bizzey · 01/08/2025 00:03

Thanks for "time /clocks" clue .

But surely they are moving out of Switzerland now ?

bizzey · 01/08/2025 00:04

Ohh Italy, Verona and lots of Shakespeare clues ....!!

Plasticwaste · 01/08/2025 01:45

I thought Rob came dressed as the Milk Tray man for a clue 😁

Much easier episode, got all the Matterhorn references. Sad that the only one who knew anything went, was rooting for her while all the blabbermouth men yammered on self-importantly.

All this talk about a brutal game is very boring. It's sightseeing from a bus, not a Traitors round table. The accusations about game-playing (with the big dramatic music! 🫨) are laughable for a show so tame it could be on CBBC as a geography game.

Bichette · 01/08/2025 08:26

RB said something about things going like clockwork at the beginning of this episode and the massive TISSOT ad on the cable car was a bit of a giveaway. I don’t think he said anything cryptic about the next destination though.

KassandraOfSparta · 01/08/2025 08:32

Some of the men are very self important. The very first clue when they saw the van with the +41 number and one of them shouting on about how it runs east to west and if the UK is +44 then +41 is further east then we are etc etc and one of the women says "but +33 is France" and was just totally ignored. Idiots.

I thought the teaser for the next episode looked further east than Switzerland, Slovenia, Croatia, somewhere like that.

NCTDN · 01/08/2025 08:48

I didn’t quite get how they all decided that the first destination could well have been Paris and that Dawn was probably the closest, given that they’re not told who was closest or where they were?

the80sweregreat · 01/08/2025 09:50

Loads of criticism on Facebook about how boring this is and how the bbc can afford 100 k for the winner. Not to mention the fact the license fee payers are bank rolling it all ( what’s left of them , most people I know I don’t pay the tv fee these days)
I admit I did enjoy last nights one, it was a bit more exciting than the first one.

KassandraOfSparta · 01/08/2025 09:55

It's going to be a lot more expensive to produce than the Traitors which involves none of the moving about and the crew are either local, or staying in the same budget hotel. (previous seasons everyone has stayed at the Courtyard at Inverness airport). Prize money is less too. Race across the world has potentially higher production costs but is a BBC format which can be sold to other countries, and has been. Destination X is an American format.

the80sweregreat · 01/08/2025 09:58

Was surprised at how many were critical of this, but Facebook are a tough crowd!

the80sweregreat · 01/08/2025 10:11

Race across the world is tougher and they only won 20k between two of them. Rob’s fee must be fairly high too I can imagine , he needs it for the fancy suits.!

Kreepture · 01/08/2025 10:34

like i said upthread.

the clues point to two things.
The country they're in
A specific location within that country.

Last nights was much better. Helped that we have access to google maps to figure stuff out here, they don't xD.

Needtosoundoffandbreathe · 01/08/2025 10:53

RockaLock · 31/07/2025 22:01

Frustrating. So last night, all the clues were for a specific region in France (Alsace) and then they ended up in Paris (just a couple,r of clues for that).

whereas tonight the clues were for Switzerland in general, and the Matterhorn specifically - so we thought the Matterhorn clues were like the Alsace clues yesterday, and that they would end up somewhere else. No consistency with how it’s working!

I disagree - many of the clues pointed specifically to Paris.

the80sweregreat · 01/08/2025 10:57

What was the clue on the sail boat in Switzerland?

crumblingschools · 01/08/2025 10:59

I think we were making it too complicated when trying to guess and it’s the obvious clues and place that are the correct destination

crumblingschools · 01/08/2025 11:00

Think the letters on the sail represented the countries surrounding Switzerland @the80sweregreat
