I wondered if it wasn't more that he realised that it was hopeless anyway. After all, if he wanted to let Bard die through inertia, he'd had plenty of opportunities to do that already. He needn't have bothered to risk everyone's lives escaping the hut where they found Bard originally, for instance.

But Stevie was in charge of him, and she made the call. Flynn ignored it.

I was wondering about the HEMS driver with Flynn too. I actually thought he was going to be shot and die as why else would he have been out there. Bit like the people in red shirts in Star Trek always died!

Medical staff are supposed to treat lives not make a judgement on whether a live should be saved. Flynn who has always been quite comfortable with wobbly morals of his own (shagging in the cleaner cupboard) while holding the staff to higher standards. I found the army abuse storyline to be quite ridiculous despite knowing that abuse and bullying in the army is quite definitely an issue. Bard was such a pantomime villain and I really hate that every single back story now has to intertwine with one of the casualty staff members.

I thought Cam showed great initiative putting Norma in the cleaner's cupboard actually under the circumstances. Clearly not ideal but much lower risk for someone in neutropenia. The call bell idea seemed ridiculous that nobody had done it before but that's often how the public sector works.

I don't think there was any issue of contamination, the boy just nearly drowned.

Considering the BBC chose to put on the Padding Bear film, followed by the Weakest Link quiz programme there was no reason no reason at all that we could not have had Casualty !

But then I can remember when it felt like Casualty was on every Sat, not just x amounts of the year.

It's not as if the World Cup football is still on !

I hope we don’t have long to wait and then it goes all the way until Christmas. Will we lose it again when strictly starts? I can never remember.

There's a double episode on 5th September and then a new series after bloody Strictly.

Time was when they managed to accommodate both Strictly and Casualty quite easily on Saturday nights. What has changed?

It's been off at the same time as SCD for the past few years now. It's not new

The new series will kick off with a double-bill anniversary special on Saturday 5th September 2026. New episodes will then air every Saturday night

I think this means that it will be on Saturday nights after Strictly - not that it won't be on until the entire series of Strictly is finished.

Oh! OK, that's brilliant then. I was sure I'd read somewhere that there was the big double episode and then nothing until after Christmas, but hopefully I've got it wrong.
