I wondered if it wasn't more that he realised that it was hopeless anyway. After all, if he wanted to let Bard die through inertia, he'd had plenty of opportunities to do that already. He needn't have bothered to risk everyone's lives escaping the hut where they found Bard originally, for instance.

I was wondering about the HEMS driver with Flynn too. I actually thought he was going to be shot and die as why else would he have been out there. Bit like the people in red shirts in Star Trek always died!

Medical staff are supposed to treat lives not make a judgement on whether a live should be saved. Flynn who has always been quite comfortable with wobbly morals of his own (shagging in the cleaner cupboard) while holding the staff to higher standards. I found the army abuse storyline to be quite ridiculous despite knowing that abuse and bullying in the army is quite definitely an issue. Bard was such a pantomime villain and I really hate that every single back story now has to intertwine with one of the casualty staff members.

I thought Cam showed great initiative putting Norma in the cleaner's cupboard actually under the circumstances. Clearly not ideal but much lower risk for someone in neutropenia. The call bell idea seemed ridiculous that nobody had done it before but that's often how the public sector works.

I don't think there was any issue of contamination, the boy just nearly drowned.
