Yes. I just couldnโ€™t see how she would have gone back to work legally

esp in a Medical place

tho we all know how tight rules are esp notice periods on casualty

Holby HR have a whole different rule book!

Is there any rule saying that? Surely it's up to the mother? What if they have a premature stillbirth?

LIZS · 19/07/2026 09:44

The deaf situation did nโ€™t make sense. Even I remembered that Nicole had some bsl and there must be a protocol in the department. Clearly the patient could read! Jodie saving the day with the council was equally ridiculous. Poor Dylan perpetuating a poor parenting cycle.

Yeah, I think she gave about 12 hours notice by telling Stevie in the staff room ๐Ÿคฃ

LIZS · 19/07/2026 11:23

Or was it a KIT day?

Today's episode is so infuriating. Have Rash and Jodie not got mobile phones, text-to-speak software. Why are they only writing one word? This situation is where mobile phone technology can massively help. Aaaarrrgggghhhh

Also.
The deaf woman literally spoke to Jodie, and her response was to hand her a notepad and pen then make her lipread. Surely Jodie writing the notes would have been so much more logical ๐Ÿ˜…๐Ÿ˜…

Tbf, Jodie's never really been portrayed as the brightest of sparks. I wasn't entirely convinced by her Erin Brockovich star researcher turn.

Yes we all thought he was slugging vodka not water. Esp with driving erratically

glad he wasnโ€™t stupid enough to drink /drive and was the one night of booze

and they him and matty are making a go of it

in army pub the girl looked like she wanted to say something then he appeared

why couldnโ€™t they have got him suspended

and glad finally won the court /house site

hopefully Nicole will get her money back

I have questions!

Where is everyone? ๐Ÿ˜‚

Is the HEMS driver who drove Flynn still sat outside the army barracks?

How did the arresting officers know Pennyโ€™s name?

What time was it when they arrived at the pub with Pearl?

What was with the โ€œcoming soonโ€ bit we donโ€™t normally have?

Is that it now until 5th September?

I think thatโ€™s it ๐Ÿ˜‚

spiderlight · 25/07/2026 23:34

I'm here! Yes, poor abandoned HEMS driver. I'd forgotten about him! ๐Ÿ˜†

I think that's it now until September. I'm glad the horrible army officer didn't make it but Flynn has blown it with Stevie now.

I think the โ€˜coming soonโ€™ is just because itโ€™s returning with a double episode for the 40th anniversary?

I may be unpopular here but Flynn made the right call in the lift. I can't believe Stevie didn't back him on this. That man was evil.

I suppose doctors are supposed to try to save life without moral judgement. And now Penny has to face a murder charge and not an attempted murder, and Bard canโ€™t be questioned on his ways, so significant consequences. I think heโ€™d have probably died anyway though.

Oldglasses · 26/07/2026 10:30

Itโ€™s the Hippocratic Oath heโ€™s violating, but yes, agree that Flynn couldnโ€™t bear to bring his enemy โ€˜back from the deadโ€™.

WarrenTofficier · 26/07/2026 10:40

Where do you draw the line? How do you decide who is too bad to be treated? It is one of the things that recurs as a theme and everyone however nasty, guilty of injuring or killing others has always been treated. Once you start to make judgements of that type there is the potential to get things wrong. There was an episode not that long ago with a little girl found in the boot of a crashed car and they assumed the driver was a child abducter but it turned out he was her brother (I can't remember why she was in the boot but he wasn't a baddie).

Yes they were siblings. I think he was going to a festival or something and the parents had said she was too young to go so she sneaked in her brother's car. Something like that anyway

Iโ€™m so glad that army storyline is finally over. And hopefully the poisoned estate one is too.

Ditto. I was ready to give up watching quite a few times through this story arc. Iโ€™m not sure if the army story or the housing estate one annoyed me more.

Of course and in real life I agree. But in the world of Casualty the man had to die.....there will be enough people coming forward now he's dead to testify about how horrid he is that she will be OK.

It's OK to shoot someone and almost shoot multiple other people because the guy was horrid. That's good.

MsFelicityLemon · 26/07/2026 19:06

Not sure if I waa having lots of absences during the episode, but I really wasn't sure what was happening- like I'd missed the beginning of each story line!!

What was going on with the two siblings and the dog. Did we see what happened to them before they got to the hospital?

OlderGlaswegianLivingInDevon · 26/07/2026 19:10

@MsFelicityLemon

We were told the dog went into the water ( can't remember if it was the sea / a river or a lake ) and the boy went in to save it.
The paramedics hadn't seen a dog whilst the children were being rescued / treated.
Later a neighbour sent a photo of the dog as it had arrived home by itself.

but we didn't see the incident itself.
