However, I assume the complaint can only be taken further if Matty admits the accusations are true when he is questioned, but will he do that or will he still choose to protect Stevie over himself?

In the real world of HR yes in the Casualty world of HR and employment law she will probably be sacked by the end of the week.

Didn't the complaint imply that Stevie had "coerced" Matty into taking the blame for her mistake? From what I recall, he made that decision on his own.

spiderlight · 14/06/2026 23:01

He did make the decision - she had no idea she'd even made the mistake, let alone that Matty had covered for her. She encouraged Dylan to report Matty for it, but Dylan has basically twisted it to blame Stevie for taking advantage of his poor innocent little boy. He's trying to be a good father but he's shot himself in the foot because Matty and Stevie will both hate him for it.

purpleme12 · 15/06/2026 00:31

Yep

Don't even think he's thought about that though

He's just so incensed, what with him being his son

Blondeshavemorefun · 20/06/2026 08:55

behind as always. I was so suprised Dylan reported Stevie. Yes matty is his son but he chased her - he took the blame

the little girl over dosing her mum on morphine ๐Ÿ™€

ridas hair loss. I couldnโ€™t work out why there spending so much time on her hair price as she has always worn one

not sure why she didnโ€™t say for religion

but her hair loss bless her ๐Ÿ˜ข

now Cameron knows Indy โ€˜helpedโ€™ the old man

did faith mean she wanted to go back to how they were without pearl

so not together again ?

OP posts:
purpleme12 · 20/06/2026 09:30

All Dylan's seeing is that Stevie has some wrong to his son and that's overriding anything else

I think Faith just meant go back to when Pearl wasn't here. But it's the post natal depression talking isn't it and her trauma from everything

Blondeshavemorefun · 20/06/2026 09:47

Matty chose to protect Stevie. More fool him

ah so no baby. Def has pnd and fair enough for what have Been through

Stevie really should be getting union representation given the seriousness of the accusations against her.

Are we about to have a Jan/Siobhan love story? I didn't see that coming!

ArtemisNutella · 21/06/2026 11:23

It feels like lately - I mean perhaps a couple of years rather than last few episodes - the focus of each episode is more on the main characters and their life storylines than on medical drama. Iโ€™ve watched casualty since it first began back in the 80s. There was always personal drama for the characters but its main theme was medical drama. Now itโ€™s more soap opera style. I generally enjoy it less and less.

The storyline of Faith having a baby is ridiculous in itself. Iโ€™m not sure if the character is younger but the actress is in her 50s and seemingly just fell pregnant with no effort!

Rida is such an underrated character. The hair loss is being drip fed but I feel thatโ€™s building up to something big for her. She deserves more centre stage.

I was just going to ask the same thing. Or will Jan make a move and get knocked back?

EBearhug · 21/06/2026 11:44

I don't think we know much about Siobhan, other than she was in a heterosexual marriage, do we? That might have made her think, nah, not bothering with another man, but that doesn't lead to fancying women instead - though I know of quite a few women who realise they're lesbian in later life. But still, I think it's more likely Jan will get knocked back. Though this is Holby ED, so who knows, especially as it is a law universally recognised that a single staff member at Holby must be in need of a liaison with another member of staff.

The cheating husband and the rape, probably doesn't what to ever look at a man again but as you say that doesn't mean she will choose a girlfriend. Jan was previously married to a man so she probably doesn't see that as definite no.

spiderlight · 21/06/2026 13:47

I hope they just let the friendship develop, tbh. They've been getting closer in the past few episodes and supported each other - does that need to be messed up with an unrequited crush? Or maybe it won't be unrequited and Siobhan will merrily move into Jan's magic expanding house with the rest of them.

FurForksSake · 21/06/2026 15:52

Jan making a move on Siobhan I did not see coming but I think it is!

rida I hope she gets a nice story like and a happy ever after.

daffodilandtulip · 21/06/2026 16:04

Jodie seems to have lost the plot a bit. Can nurses really just wander into records and hep themselves?

I did call the Jan/Shiv thing actually.

Sad that Cam and Indie have fallen out. Annoying as each of them are, it was a nice pairing.

I think Rash is heading to be stalked or falsely accused, or at least hurt. Isnโ€™t it time him and Rhida got together?

EBearhug · 21/06/2026 16:57

Ride will end up confiding in Rash about her hair, because Jodie's never available. But it'll probably take a million episodes.

WhatICallMyUsername · 27/06/2026 23:18

Just watched tonightโ€™s. I am finding the whole thing with Jan and Siobhan odd just because thereโ€™s been no lead up to it. Siobhan saying I need my pal right now, not sure Iโ€™ve ever seen them in a scene together being pally ๐Ÿค”

bizzey · 28/06/2026 00:04

Ohhh Matty !!!
Why didn't you step in and hand over the glass of orange juice !

This is going to be so sad if Dylan relapses โ˜น๏ธโ˜น๏ธ๐Ÿ’”.

Are we being misdirected and it's actually Nosecco or appletizer Dylan in necking?

spiderlight · 28/06/2026 00:26

Matty absolutely should have stepped in there. The way Dylan said 'That hit the spot ' and immediately reached for another, I don't think it was appletizer.

Could someone remind me of the backstory wth Teddy's dad please?

Maxwold · 28/06/2026 13:37

I donโ€™t understand why Dylan is so sanctimonious about reporting stevie, he stole mattys dna and tested it without his permission. Would like to know what the medical director thinks of that !

SeptemberIRemember · 28/06/2026 14:39

I donโ€™t know if Dylan stole Mattieโ€™s DNA or not.

Mattie had abandoned whatever it was Dylan got it from (canโ€™t remember, was it in a wastebasket?): thereโ€™s some legal precedent here but itโ€™s decades since I studied law and I canโ€™t remember.

LondonLady1980 · 28/06/2026 15:31

Oh Dylan ๐Ÿ˜ž
