I’m getting snacks and drinks in and watching the whole thing while pretending I’m 12 again. Can’t wait for the Quo to kick it off in half an hour! Anyone else gonna watch?

I didn’t see Madonna on the day because I had farming to attend to. She sounds terrible.

She doesn't sound great. But I still decided I loved the song.

Farming??

Jellykat · 12/07/2025 22:04

FourWheels · 12/07/2025 22:04

Thin White Duke enters.

Serious Moonlighting.

CheerfulBunny · 12/07/2025 22:04

Phwoah! David Bowie 😍

Any of you got teens watching it? I'd love to know what they made of it all!

@Appalonia my teen is with her Auntie watching it tonight, she is texting madly about it.

She says Sting should be in prison as his songs are all about stalking women or being in love with a schoolgirl. She has never heard of Sade but wonders why the line up is almost entirely men. She doesn’t see why I was obsessed with Paul Young.

I remember watching Madonna on the day.. she mentions something like “I’m not taking shit off today..it’ll haunt me 10 years from now!” Bc this was when topless pics were posted from when she was trying to break into the business.. I thought she was the absolute coolest person ever when I was 11 🤭😊

Oh, yes, I remember that! Borderline is her best song.

tobee · 12/07/2025 22:05

Blimey, Dave, taking it pretty fast mate!!!

Tudorduxbury · 12/07/2025 22:05

Anyone else going ‘he’s dead …’ ? Been a few

CarefulN0w · 12/07/2025 22:06

DH & I were commenting on how many saxophones there have been, played by actual musicians.

MichaelandKirk · 12/07/2025 22:06

Again not my favourite (Bowie) but how cool is he? In his final years he turned into a very handsome ma.

tryingtobesogood · 12/07/2025 22:06

Serious moonlight was my first ever gig. 16 at Milton Keynes Bowl.

Another amazing talent taken too young.

PuppyMonkey · 12/07/2025 22:06

You know what, I know people probably think us old fogies are just being nostalgic but FFS this has been the best thing on telly all year.

PluckyBamboo · 12/07/2025 22:06

40 years later and I'm finding the sound quality and filming better than Glastonbury. This is how music concerts on TV should be.

Can't hear the crowd screaming, camera isnt constantly switching to the crowd as Ed the Duck looks cute on his flag pole or showing folk singing along. It's all about the music 😃.

(And, seeing natural teeth is fantastic 😆)

Got to agree with you there. I have abandoned all hope of an early night.

Yep, so sad

CheerfulBunny · 12/07/2025 22:08

God., he was sexy though! Floppy quiffy hair and his original fangs.. 😋

MissAmbrosia · 12/07/2025 22:08

Took Dh to see David Bowie at Wembley Arena in 2003/4. I know I was pregnant then too, and we saw Rick Wakeman in the hotel at Breakfast. He cried nearly all the way through - totally over emotional with it all.

Lovingmayo · 12/07/2025 22:09

He was beautiful. With his eyes. One brown. One blue

LadyRoughDiamond · 12/07/2025 22:09

I’ve turned into my Gran: “Dead now… He’s dead… Died young..”

Middlemarch123 · 12/07/2025 22:10

Cats think I’m having a fit. No, I’m dancing in front of the telly, cos I’m a 64 year old rebel rebel…
