There was nothing likeable about the old Aidan either though @Piffle11 - he was always trying to change Carrie & was never able to accept her. Plus he was so self-righteous! He didn’t deserve to be cheated on but otherwise he was not a guy you’d want to be with.

Nooo!! He was kind of sweet. I know further up thread posters said about him making her give up smoking, but he didn’t know she was a smoker when they had their first date. He said to her at the time, you smoke? I can’t date a smoker. And she then told him, oh I don’t really smoke, I can take it or leave it. He questioned whether that was possible and she assured him it was. He didn’t want them to rush to sleep together, he wanted them to get to know each other first. He wanted to introduce her to his parents… I don’t think he really did anything wrong up until the point where she cheated on him.

What I don't understand is apart from Carrie and Anthony all the others have totally forgotten how to act. The script is rubbish but Charlotte and Miranda were good back in the day, they are just so bloody awful now. Even in the movies they were miles better. Cant see how it can go on, they simply have zero stories to tell.

Yeah, I do think Charlotte has turned into some sort of caricature of herself.

I have to agree with all that

tho equally you know when someone is a smoker as when kiss them

mints. Chewing gum etc all mask it

it’s like licking a ash tray

But I don’t think they’d actually kissed at that point?

I’m off to rewatch 😄

I just know I never liked him @Piffle11 😁. To be fair, I didn’t like Big either. The only guys I liked were Harry & Samantha’s young hot actor boyfriend who stayed with her through cancer (can’t believe I can’t remember his name - was it Smith?)

Yeah I never liked Big.

Edited to say: sad as I am, I’ve actually gone to rewatch the episode I was thinking of… Series 3, episode 5. And what a great episode! Charlotte and the bad kisser who ends up bruising her face, Samantha and the black guy whose chef sister hates their relationship because Samantha is white, Stanford and the guy with the china dolls on his bed, Steve trying to make the half court shot … all great storylines!

Blondeshavemorefun · 31/07/2025 20:47

Smith was lovely and sexy and kept Samantha in line

Gowlett · 31/07/2025 21:34

I just can’t believe Aidan said “oh, I shagged my ex-wife. Soz!”
And Carrie is as like “Whatevs… Shit happens!” Then they shag…

Yet, when BIG said he was marrying Natasha…

When he waited for Samantha and Richard , when they went upstairs at that party/ hotel, just to make sure she was ok. ❤️

And Joey Essex can do a cameo, like he did in Selling Sunset. Which other Rent-a-Brits are cash strapped?

Plemrybof talent for the cabbie - Ray Winstone, Vinnie Jones or even Ross Kemp of they're busy on a gangster movie.
Need to squeeze in Miriam Margolies somewhere.
And who could play the sycophantic shoe shopkeeper on Bond Street?

KiIIingMeDeftly · 01/08/2025 08:21

Surely Rowan Atkinson as the shopkeeper?

Dare I say I thought this week’s episode was quite good? (Relative to how shit it usually is, of course)

Netaporter · 01/08/2025 08:51

S3E10

spoilers ahead

well, this is the episode We’ve all been waiting for! Something for everyone. And a full length episode at that…

Fashion
So much to talk about here... Carrie Bradshaw at her finest… The Vivienne Westwood dress… The wonderful Jimmy Choo’s … absolutely stunning. No fashion misses this week. Charlotte‘s wardrobe was very Charlotte and had some delightfully understated pieces. Seema rocked everything she wore this week and can we just talk aboutLTW.’s white trouser suit and white coat? Beautiful. Obviously the wardrobe mistress had to pick on someone this week and whilst I was grateful that Miranda had her clothes on, what in the name of all things holy was the terrible jumper and skirt combo she was wearing at the dinner table? She look like she’d stumbled into a Sue Ryder shop and everything had fallen on top of her 😂

Storylines
A delightful mix of romance and comedy this week. Think the writers may have found their stride, shame it’s taken us 10 episodes to get there…

We may not have seen much of Steve this season, but what a performance this week 👏 and a storyline I think we can all relate to.

Absolutely loved Adam, his fabulous $900 a month apartment and his relationship with Seema. And totally loved Giuseppe’s serial killer housemate. The wank marionette.😂
Loved Herbert losing, I think if they had written in that he had one the election it would’ve seemed too perfect. Loving mother Wexley, I think we’ve all had a mother-in-law like that 😂

I’ve done an absolute 360 on Duncan, what a sweetheart and it’s a shame Carrie has found her perfect man only for him to be unavailable. He is her absolute equal and everything she deserves. I really enjoyed her self reflection this week and acknowledgement that she was really quite unpleasant to Miranda..

All in all a really enjoyable episode. A really enjoyable episode. A really enjoyable episode. See what I did there? 😉

I agree. Loved it.

I still find it very disjointed, abruptly jumping for one scene to the next with no connection. Plus Duncans ex wife/publishers accent sounded off. But I did enjoy this one. SJP looked amazing (I loved the blue cardigan thingy), I have always liked Steve and I thought his reaction to Brady’s news was not unrealistic. I liked farting Mia’s reaction to Miranda although she was a bit stupid in general. I liked Adam and Seema and Duncan and Carrie. All in all quite fun.

Umbilicat · 01/08/2025 09:53

I LOVED the stuff about I wasn't going to keep it but then I found it was double Gemini. As the mother of YA Gen-Zs it could not have been more relatable.

Yep. We’re so binary about things. 😂

I thought so, too. Really enjoyed it.

TammyJones · 01/08/2025 10:08

It was a good episode.
But if I was Miranda , I’d run away very fast from the ‘situation ‘

Over40Overdating · 01/08/2025 10:41

Loved this weeks episode! The spirit of the original was definitely there.

Although I didn’t want the inevitable to happen with Duncan, it was good to see Carrie let loose with someone without all the agonising and her knowing it was a one off.

The book sounds utter shite but again I liked the implication via Duncan that had Aidan been there, she’d be writing very differently. And him encouraging her to let the character ie herself live after the dream of the man and the family and the happy ever after in the big house had faded, rather than kill her off.

The house feels very unCarrie still but I guess that does still work for the metaphor of grief. I don’t think it would work to bring her back to her old apartment but something smaller where it’s all about her again, would be good to see.

KiIIingMeDeftly · 01/08/2025 11:56

Who knew Carrie was short for Carol-Anne?

8misskitty8 · 01/08/2025 13:03

Spoilers.

Much better episode.
The whole Brady situation. I felt Steve went too far with his yelling and threats. But Miranda was right he needs to check it is his baby since she didn’t tell him. The farting was a great nod to Miranda’s farting issue while pregnant in SATC.
Are we going to get a string of new ‘tenants’ in the below flat now Duncan is leaving ?
Carrie realising she was rude to Miranda, but will we see an apology ?
Puppet man and his wanking. ‘My eyes’ moment.
Seema killing the gardeners mum 🤣 I actually thought she was going to set it on fire when she went near it with the cigarette.

It's Caroline, isn't it? That's what the bodega owner called her in series 1.

Who knew Carrie was short for Carol-Anne?

It's not - that was a reference to Carol Ann from the film Poltergeist. Carrie's full name is Caroline Marie.
