But now we get Charlotte's friend's husband talking about how he likes eating cheese. A bounty of quality storylines!

😂😂😂 yes, I should be grateful, I'm as greedy as Herbert and the cheese eating son!

(Do those kids have names????)

Blondeshavemorefun · 26/07/2025 18:53

Yes they are
Herbert Jr., Henry, and Gabrielle

MustardGreenAndPlum · 26/07/2025 23:21

I’m impressed that Carrie pronounced Kesteven correctly when talking about Maggie T’s Kesteven and Grantham school.

iamnotalemon · 27/07/2025 01:02

Of course the new neighbour is the new love interest. Can she not be single for a hot second!!!

digiwidgy · 27/07/2025 08:58

Her last dress with the gray cardigan was just stunning.

Yorkshiremum80 · 27/07/2025 12:00

Just wanted to say everyone saying Harry's storyline is incorrect, prostate removal can impact the testicles and cause bruising and swelling

In my deluded fantasy Carrie now ends up in another long distance relationship when Duncan returns to London, giving the writers the opportunity to do a London episode.
We could have a shopping montage as she rampages through Old Bond Street, more gloriously unrealistic Brit characters, with cameos a la Geri Halliwell-Horner-Spice.
Duncan of course will be somehow connected to the aristocracy and have a crumbling old family pile in the country, with a mother in the style of Camilla Parker Bowles on the fags and gin. Played by Julie Walters or Joanna Lumley.
They could whip up publicity by tying it in with Samantha. Of course ending with the obligatory text that she’s popped back to NY or LA so missed her again.

Newgirls · 27/07/2025 13:59

Yes to a London episode or two! Would love that

CowTown · 27/07/2025 14:51

Does Carrie do the obligatory ride in the back of a black taxi with her head hanging out the window, whilst she drives past Buckingham Palace and across Tower Bridge?

greengreyblue · 27/07/2025 15:41

The link above shows the decor to come . So much thought into it and makes me wonder how the writing an be so careless.SJP heavily involved in it all.

With London Calling by The Clash playing in the background. No cliche untouched!

sweetpickle2 · 27/07/2025 16:06

That AD video is amazing @greengreyblue- just a shame they seem to have put more thought into the set design than the script.

I am so surprised she didn’t say I was faithful

you shagged your ex wife and I forgave you

loved shoes cat tree perch thing

joy was lovely with her baggage

Charlotte funny falling over and least we know harry had his surgery

Anthony was fab tho surprised what a small shitty apartment he lives in considering how well his business was doing

let’s hope gia leaves them alone now

and ozampic mentioned a couple of times

obv the crystal rock deodorant didn’t work

and I wouldn’t want arm pit love. I’m tigglish

This. It’s ridiculous that Carrie didn’t say anything to aiden about him sleeping with Cathy, when he admitted not trusting her. The writing is completely crap to have missed that out. It’s the first thing anyone would say

Someone upthread posted why Carrie didn’t throw that back at Aiden and it was a very good explanation.

Using an utterly improbable route via Primrose Hill or similar.

I know! I was surprised at all the detail that I wouldn’t notice and yet the obvious is missed!

fromthechandelier · 27/07/2025 21:24

The idea of London episodes makes my blood run cold. It would be just another opportunity to butcher every cliche going the same way they have with every English character in the series.

Friends got away with it in the 90s, it'd be nice to move on from that now 😅

QueefofSheena · 27/07/2025 21:47

I was only half watching as it’s so bad, but didn't the downstairs neighbour mention his wife?

I feel this way. I'd like to see Carrie single for a bit instead of desperately flitting from one man to the other.

Ex-wife, I think he said.

This is such an amazing idea, I'm completed invested. Please let it happen 🙏

I love this idea 😂

You’ve forgotten to add an appearance by Fergie though (the artist previously known as the Duchess of York, not the black-eyed peas singer 😉)

And Joey Essex can do a cameo, like he did in Selling Sunset. Which other Rent-a-Brits are cash strapped?

KeepCalmAndPretendItIsOnTheLessonPlan · 28/07/2025 13:37

"I have agreed to arrangements, arrangements even you yourself couldn't live up to!"

I thought this was Carrie alluding to Aidan's infidelity.

Although the whole jealousy thing is confusing because I thought they had both agreed to put the moving in together on hold for five years but still attempt long distance/postcards/phone sex Envy <not envy/and the odd hook up.
Then when he revealed he had slept with Kathy as a one-off/loneliness/consolation, didn't she say she herself didn't expect to be a nun/involuntarily celibate for five years?

So were they open or not?

If so, it wouldn't really matter if she was doing the dance with Duncan's pipe.
Unless they meant a ONS with rando was fine to itch a scratch/pressing need but anything closer to home off-limits...erm, Kathy?

The writing went delulu or I missed a pivotal scene.

Yes, he was definitely sniffing out the competition but Carrie was also being a bit of a twat in not wanting them to meet/chew the fat
steak /keeping them separate. Also her giving tips on non-fiction. Yeah, right.

And, her house or not, smoke's bloody awful in clothing if you aren't a smoker yourself. She knew he hated cigarettes so not sure why she thought being all over him, smelling of tobacco, was not going to have the opposite effect.

But the break up scene was done well. The present tense (title of episode) have trust issues/was 100% in - am or was?, was clever writing.

Finally, loved all of Carrie's clothes except for the green dirndl. Way too German Volksfest.
