When she was having lunch with Seema in Seema's new office. She explained that she cheated on Aiden before with John.

Carrie told Seema that Aidan was jealous because she cheated on him with John. She wouldn't have used the nickname Big with Seema as she wasn't around back in the day.

Tbf, I think he was John a lot in AJLT - especially s1 (for obvious reasons). I’m hoping I was right and this storyline turns into an arc about how grief affects people - because they are some rose-tinted specs Carrie has been wearing about Aidan and their history..!

I wondered too @Netaporter if this was a (frustrating) portrayal of grief - let’s not forget that the last time Carrie was with Aidan, she was also with Big a lot of the time.
Being back with Aidan wasn’t making her feel the love she had for him back then, but the love she had for Big. Not the settled, safe married love they had when he died but that passionate, illicit, uncertain love that defined so much of their relationship before they got married.

And when he made the comment about the smoke - in her OWN HOUSE- it was like a slap back to reality. This man never loved her as herself. His love was always conditional. Always rooted in her meeting a standard he set knowing she’d fail. Big for all his faults never judged her. Never tried to change her. He loved Carrie for Carrie.

I HATE AIDAN AND HIS LOWER TEETH ACTING SO MUCH.

Aiden left the steaks out to make a sulky point that they were ruined. Carrie ignored them to make a point that she wasn’t cleaning up after him.

This is so true. Carrie and Big were both imperfect and loved either other regardless.

Carrie's green dress made me think she and Aiden were about to dance around the garden to 16 going on 17!

Yes but she asked him not to speak to him before . That’s controlling. If you don’t trust him, he’s not for her. Imagine being told you can’t go outside in the garden of the place you are staying which apparently was for them and his boys! Seems out of character for Carrie.

Was cheering when she finally chucked Aidan. FINALLY!!! Please dear god let that be the end of it. There was a real missed opportunity for a scene where she told the girls over drinks / dinner though

Miranda and Joy were great. Charlotte and Harry were ridiculous. LTW and Herbert were pointless. Weird episode really but we're used to that by now!

I feel it could have been collapsed into the previous one with less filler.

It does feel like they haven’t got enough content for 12 but that’s the agreement so they’ve chopped it up and not made a good job of it.

I hope it goes back to how it was. We can do with less Lisa her stories go nowhere.

Carrie looked amazing at the end.

His was the first suggestion - she was working with him and he suggested they all go for dinner. She didn’t proactively ask him to stay away but clearly immediately felt uncomfortable at what was behind the suggestion they all had dinner together.

Oh is it 12 episodes? Don't know why I thought it was 10 and next week was the season finale.

I like Lisa and family but they don’t quite go far enough with it. We need Herbert talking to Harry about his insecurities. We need hotter scenes with Lisa and Marion. Lisa wearing less comedic clothes might help.

I may have missed it but did she tell any of them about aiden shagging his ex ?

That must be it. Seems so odd though, when there is SO MUCH they could be putting in there or talking about. SATC was very much comprised of vignettes as characters came and went, but there seemed to be more consideration about the continuity of storylines.

Last night I watched the last episode of series 4, where Big tells Carrie he's moving to Napa ("You're the Chrysler building!") and Miranda goes into labour. So much better than most of this bollocks, but we live in eternal hope!

Loved that episode, "you take a nap-a, you don't move to Napa"!

I don't think so - i don't think she wanted to. They all think she was bonkers for agreeing to hang around and wait for him in the first place, then knowing he shagged Kathy would just prove they were right.
