Totally silly

It's almost as though the 'writers' of this tosh have given up on any attempt at reality. Off to Oz, like, today? No problem. Leaving your kids with random relatives or buying a £5k cruise for a neighbour? That's fine too. They must think their audience are half-wits who will swallow anything they dish up.

There have been far too many ridiculous scenes this week just because 'plot reasons'. It doesn't bode well for the new producer.

And next in line, Kat will shortly (allegedly) be Licensee of the Vic. So there goes that never-ending magic money tree again.

Can you imagine getting out of your cab from the registry office (no witnesses seemed to go with) to have your suitcase thrown at you and straight off to the airport for Australia!
Can you see him at security answering the question on who packed his bag.
I also thought I was going mad re Barcelona and Australia. I could have sworn they said Zoe was in Barcelona and then Alfie said he was going to Australia. Until you lot cleared it up for me!
The money stuff is ridiculous. As soon as I saw Stacey’s flat which didn’t seem too far from Walford I thought how the hell can she afford that. The writers have gone on the glue again

Years ago you needed a visa to visit Australia, but that wasn’t mentioned ? ( even for a short visit / holiday )
Plus he knows that Ross and Spencer were once friends and the links there , yet his banking on nobody noticing he has gone elsewhere! ! Sharon Albie and Chelle and Ian are all there at the moment , but probs a different place tbf.

I guess people just say yes, I did. How would they know ? Especially as he isn’t going to Oz ( where they are strict around things like this , or they were years ago anyway)

What I can't understand is how all these main characters like Sharon and Ian are allowed to take leave at the same time and for such a long length of time?!? Sharon has been missing for ages now and Ian was in the US visiting Ben quite recently fgs!

The main ‘ lifers’ haven’t been in it much.

Isn’t this the third or fourth time Sharon has waltzed off on short notice? I can’t help thinking Letitia Dean has been having some personal issues to deal with.

Sharon had a long stint out of it back in the 90s too.

They must have good contracts to be able to have all this time off.

Letitia was away for months in 2024 when she was clearly needed for the Six plot but Sharon just disappeared (I think she was yet again in Aus?) So I agree that unfortunately it looks as if Tish has some problems. And her exit this year was so abrupt. I don't think she's on a jolly.

I'm sure Adam Woodyatt gets generous time off, even Shane Richie is let out to do other stuff, he was on the One Show recently and said this daft Barcelona Australia exit is because he's touring with a band. It must be this

Checking in to the new thread

I’m confused if Priya is actually going on this cruise or not. She didn’t seem too happy with Linda questioning her about it or even ask when it is leaving the port or if she can get time from work or well anything really. What a hoo ha.

Yes Priya would know nothing about boarding/departure dates/times. Walford is another world.

The flat Stacy was in reminded me of Gus and his old flat .

Jean must be in that house on her own.

How is Stacey affording that flat - and how is Jean affording the rent on the house? Weren't they struggling to make ends meet as a household even when Harvey was paying towards all the costs and Martin was paying child support (hence Stacey doing the webcam work)?

I'm finding it all baffling too. To be honest I think it started to go downhill with the six plot. Think Martin being killed off was a bad idea too as he held a lot of people together.

I'm not missing the lifers much at all, but they aren't doing anything decent with the newer characters. Junior isn't used much. I cant see them doing much with Zoe either. The cast is a bit bloated but it's because the long term characters are in and out so much, but they dare not upset their egos by giving someone newer a decent storyline. It doesn't work.

I think the last time it was really good was the Lola storyline. They did that so well.

Also they lean on nostalgia too much and referencing the past too.

Junior is an excellent character with a lot more to give. If George leaves that will mean Junior has less point of reference or context.
