I’ve got a feeling the kids own the bar Ravi runs and the doctors surgery too

NowNumber5 · 24/06/2025 18:00

Do we know what Vicky supposedly does for work?
She muttered something about helping Bernie go over “the Panesar accounts” so is she in the financial sector in some way, has it ever been said?

the80sweregreat · 24/06/2025 18:20

I didn’t hear Vicki say anything today ? Maybe I missed this ? I do tend to zone out sometimes !
( or was it yesterday?)

NowNumber5 · 24/06/2025 18:31

@the80sweregreat She was talking to Zack, just before he was accosted by Harry, to invite him to the fake Christmas.

the80sweregreat · 24/06/2025 18:36

Oh yes , I do recall them talking. I wasn’t concentrating on the actual conversation! lol

the80sweregreat · 24/06/2025 18:47

Not sure how Vicki and Ross survive. Neither work, must live rent free in Sharon’s place and give money away to anyone they think might land Joel on the sex offenders register or worse. Ross said he lost a job the other day , yet was in the cafe having food I think
I do tend to not listen to any of them too much , but I agree that Joel is doing menacing / creepy rather well.
Reminds me of Ben and Dotty!

NowNumber5 · 24/06/2025 19:31

Joel turns my stomach.

I’m going to rewatch now in real time! Can’t think the last time I did this 😅

I thought Ross was working at a timber yard or somewhere?

What happened to Will? Didn’t he get great GCSEs and then disappear?

Will got top grades, almost all 8 and 9s (A and A*) and in the real world he would study A Levels and go to a top university. As this is EE, where the working class Mitchells cannot be allowed to amount to anything outside of the square, Billy just said he was doing a vocational course “in ‘ealth care” which is ridiculous. He hasn’t been heard or seen since apart from a cameo as best man at Billy and Honey’s wedding.

SnowFrogJelly · 24/06/2025 22:48

So.. George and Elaine have been married only a few weeks and already getting divorced, Kat married Alfie last week and is now all over Phil and Barney’s having Xmas in June.. Eastenders gone mad!!

JessyCarr · 24/06/2025 23:06

Kat and Alfie are so doomed. Funny when Jean accused Kat of nefarious activities with Phil though. For once, Kat was innocent!

Can someone please call Nigel’s wife already.

JessyCarr · 24/06/2025 23:08

Best line though was Amy’s (to Joel): “Cringe”. Duly accompanied by an eyeroll.

Was wondering that tonight.. why don’t they just call her

storminabuttercup · 25/06/2025 07:19

I think Phil is just so worried Nigel will disappear and go with his plan of ending his life to do anything like call his wife or put him in a care home

I’ve said it before Phil has been an atrocious person over the years but he’s got that soft side I can’t help but like. I think that was the point of showing his relationship with his father to show how he ended up so messed up (not really an excuse for the violence but a reason I suppose)

i did smirk at Kat being worried he’d end up getting sectioned again, she was nowhere to be seen when he was

yesterday was dull I think. Harry inviting Zac to mid Christmas or whatever it’s called will end it tears and likely bruises

Shellingbynight · 25/06/2025 08:01

But as Phil said, Nigel cannot even remember his suicide plan, he is way past the point of being able to organise it. This is the best Nigel going to be, no way can Phil cope. It looks like all the Julie mentions mean she will turn up soon, and presumably take Nigel home.

Why are Teddy and Nic treating Barney like he’s 6? It is monumentally obvious they hate each other, just get on with getting a divorce.

Southeastdweller · 25/06/2025 08:24

I think Nicola loves Teddy and is desperate for her family to stay together but I have no idea why Teddy doesn’t kick her out.

In today’s episode, Barney has started warming to Zack, which I found quite touching.

Elaine was at her self-absorbed worst.

OpalescentFruit · 25/06/2025 08:55

If Teddy kicks out Nic she'd take Barney with her. So he'd be throwing out the baby with the bathwater. Literally!

OpalescentFruit · 25/06/2025 08:55

Elaine's pinned up hair looked good on Tuesday.

Eastie77Returns · 25/06/2025 10:43

I doubt Barney Two Dads would go with Nic if she left.

It's unbelievable that she's still around though, considering everything she's done including murdering her first son's pregnant girlfriend, lying about her other son's paternity, getting Zack beaten up and threatening Whitney.

When a character makes so many enemies it usually means they are gearing up towards being killed/attempted murder and another whodunnit🙄

lazymum99 · 25/06/2025 12:47

Just watched today’s. If those kids were seen by paramedics then questions would have been asked and social services involved to look into why they were left virtually on their own.
I am unfortunately saying this with past experience of being very close to having them called. And I only went out for dinner leaving 3 14 year olds and a few 17 year olds on their own.
One of the 14 year olds brought a bottle of vodka and managed to get so drunk I had to call an ambulance when I got home.

the80sweregreat · 25/06/2025 13:28

Alcohol and teenagers is a tricky situation to get around sometimes , but in this case the younger ones thought it was pink lemonade or something and it might be seen as an accident ? Although Joel will be keen to land them all in it of course and Elaine didn’t clock that they had wandered off with more jugs. They are all underage too, so it’s even worse for her of course.
The younger ones playing drunk was well done.
Elaine was out of order to air her laundry at ‘ Paddy’s ‘ party , she has been unbearable this week and now going to lose the licence Linda worked so hard for. What a mess and poor Raymond.
( although why they didn’t spit it out or ask why it tasted funny I’ve no idea !)

Giantjoelguesser · 25/06/2025 13:35

Looks like Phil will have to have a brief exit, as Steve McFadden is doing panto again this year. I hope some of the others on long term leave can return to cover his absence, because there just won't be much of an adult cast left

the80sweregreat · 25/06/2025 13:35

The Mitchells not invited to the Vic do was strange as he knows them all. I hope the shops don’t go down the ‘ half Christmas’ idea , but I know that QVC used to do a Christmas shop in June ( dunno if they still do )

storminabuttercup · 25/06/2025 17:44

As much as I can’t stand Nicola I quite like the idea of half Christmas
not like a massive thing with presents and stuff but the tree for a day and maybe a big turkey dinner

on second thoughts that seems like too much hard work

NowNumber5 · 25/06/2025 17:59

I’m in awe at just how quickly they can pull off a themed party with less than 48 hours notice.
Not just the Vic, but the entire neighbourhood seems to have got the memo on the Caribbean theme with professionally hung up bunting, limbo stands and the whole shebang!
It was the same for the Kat n Alfie Hag do, leopard print for everyone seemingly overnight.
