How do you go from having a budget of £320k to buying a house for £368k and buying nice new furniture for it?

I thought this too. You hadn't misheard. Going from a flat to a house,you're going to have to pretty much start from scratch re furniture as you wouldn't have enough to fill a house. Apart from beds and sofas. We did the same.

It’s £48k more than their budget.

Also like that house opposite the pub that the mum and daughter looked at.

The mother and daughter were searching in the area where I grew up. I was mostly intrigued by the scenes from inside her parents’ house - it looked like a mansion/pub!

I agreed with Kirsty about the house that was a project- it was lovely proportions and lots of nice features, wasn’t even a massive project. But the woman had no vision and I don’t think much taste!

I need to get on Street view and see if I can work out where the house was that they finally bought.

I thought the mother and daughter would be mad to buy the apartment. It only had two bedrooms and they needed three plus it had no outside space. During and after Covid people really appreciated having outside space if possible. I’m glad they didn’t buy it.

It felt really dark and dingy didn't it.

Tonight’s episode, single with £450k budget and couple with £1.25 mill. Big budgets but it doesn’t go far in London/Surrey.

Cant help thinking they’re a bit fussy but I suppose I would be if I was dropping that amount.

God these two are like teenagers with the touchy feelers!

Much prefer the Kingston house personally! Know both areas very well as spent most of my life there. Still would pick Kingston over Barnes.

Train line far too close to the back garden. The noise would be too much for me.

The doctor with the £450k is definitely being super fussy. We live just south of Tooting into Mitcham and there are loads of two bed flats around the whole area up to Tooting, into South Wimbledon etc and on a road not too far from us up in Colliers Wood even a 3 bed house with garden for £450k! She should definitely have found a 1bed flat if shes been looking for 7months. I imagine she maybe has very strong views about the specific area she wants to be in if she hasn't found anything yet. This Tooting flat is lovely.

This Kingston house is the worst of both worlds! Smaller and not up to spec. 1st house all the way imho. But they seem like a much more Barnes type couple imho.

The doctor just wants to be in Wimbledon. Nowhere else really.

What do these two do to have that amount of money?

She really does not want to be in Rayners Park.

I like Tooting- used to live there, that road looked very familiar. But she clearly has her heart set on Wimbledon. Doesn’t care about size - all about location.
