New drama starts 18th June for 6 episodes on itv

Rose Ayling-Ellis leads the cast of ITV's "groundbreaking" new crime drama Code of Silence, playing a police canteen worker and skilled lip reader, whose skills are called upon for a perilous undercover operation.

Created by Hijack’s Catherine Moulton, the six-part series stars Strictly Come Dancing (https://www.digitalspy.com/strictly-come-dancing/) winner Rose Ayling-Ellis (https://www.digitalspy.com/tv/reality-tv/a62071943/rose-ayling-ellis-family-connection-eastenders/)
in the lead role of Alison Woods, a deaf woman who has spent years working in a police canteen and secretly observing conversations.

The Strictly Come Dancing (https://www.yours.co.uk/leisure/celebrity-tv/bbc-news-strictly-come-dancing/) winner plays Alison, who finds herself embroiled in a high-stakes undercover operation. As the tension builds, her character faces dangerous challenges while trying to navigate a world of secrecy and deception.

Alison's life takes an unexpected turn when her lip-reading skills catch the attention of DS Ashleigh Francis (Ritchie) and DI James Marsh (Andrew Buchan), who recruit her for a covert operation in which she must surveil a dangerous gang who are plotting a high-stakes heist.

She’s struggling to make ends meet, juggling two jobs, in a police canteen and a local bar, while also doing her best to support her Deaf mum, Julie.

When DC Ashleigh Francis calls on Alison to lip-read the conversations of some dangerous criminals, she is plunged into a new and exhilarating world." the ITV synopsis teases.

Alison’s interpretation of the gang's clandestine meetings quickly become key to unlocking the police investigation.

But Alison's feelings about the case become complicated when she finds herself drawn to Liam, one of the main suspects.

Alison knows she's putting herself at risk by agreeing to work with the police, and when things threaten to spill over into her personal life, she knows she should step away. But Alison can’t let go…"

Well, it's not like we didn't warn her!
What does Liam do now,?

Blondeshavemorefun · 26/05/2025 21:55

Oh dear. But clever idea to bug her hearing aid

Blondeshavemorefun · 26/05/2025 21:56

Tho still think he’s an undercover copper and bugging her to keep her safe /find out what she knows
it’s why police can’t find anything on him from 5yrs ago

as he’s not real

Yup I think he's either under cover or on a vengeance trip.

The trailer for next episode looks intriguing.

Blondeshavemorefun · 26/05/2025 22:02

Ugly necklace. Prefer the 5 million apartment

why did Liam tell her the job

or so she tells the police

Surely those hearing aids are made to fit/bespoke? So she:d notice if there was something 'extra ' on them? Or are they WiFi ready? I know nothing about hearing aids

onceuponatimeinneverland · 26/05/2025 22:05

You'd expect diamonds or something, being smaller and more portable. Rather than a massive ruby necklace

ArtTheClownIsNotAMime · 26/05/2025 22:07

Alison watching Liam flicking through CCTV and then going to meet Ashleigh in the car was absolutely ridiculous.

It was indeed.
Not sure how this is going to play out now that he’s bugged her.
I wish they could just be together and run off into the sunset with her Mum without any of this criminal crap going on 😀

I know Liam is dodgy but I also feel sorry for him. Brought up in case, can’t trust anyone and now feels betrayed by Alison but at the same time, my heart melted a bit when I saw he was signing to her but I know he can’t forget being betrayed by her either. The next two episodes are going to be very intriguing

ArtTheClownIsNotAMime · 27/05/2025 07:34

His backstory could all be a pack of lies. I'm not sure if he's a wrong'un or a noble thief... the character's motivations are all pretty opaque to me.

I always see him as the lovely Al in Doc Martin! Strange to see him now as a baddie.

He also played a very convincing mass murderer in A Confession

butterpuffed · 27/05/2025 12:57

I did think Liam was undercover but not sure now since he was trying to persuade Alison to go and live abroad with him after the heist as he said he'll have so much money .

BakeOffRewatch · 27/05/2025 13:04

I’m really enjoying the tension. I felt so bad for Liam as he listened to Alison tell the police EVERYTHING

I thought he was testing her with the come with me abroad, I think if she doesn’t seem keen he’ll treat her as an enemy. And she’ll be unsafe. Like Liam said to Braden, this job is his out and he’s worked for too long too hard to let someone get in the way. Or maybe he is a massive softie and will sacrifice himself.

onceuponatimeinneverland · 27/05/2025 18:32

I think Liam was angry because he thought Alison liked him, and now he thinks she's just being nice to him for work purposes, which would fit if he's undercover/vigilante . He seemed most unconcerned that Alison might be able to scupper the plans, which again would fit with undercover/vigilante plot .

crumblingschools · 27/05/2025 18:41

If I had been Alison I wouldn't have shown my ability to be able to lip read from a distance

Don’t worry, she knows what she’s doing! The slogan of everyone who definitely does not know what they’re doing. Never mind she has literally no training in this.

I’m not picking up Liam being undercover. He seemed genuinely fearful of being in a flat with guns.

Yes, another very stupid moment from her. I'm really struggling to be sympathetic to her after episode 4, she really deserves to be caught!

He could be making up a background story. Why would he have gone to her family home? There's clearly chemistry between them.

Looking forward to the next two episodes as well.

Blondeshavemorefun · 28/05/2025 18:52

If he’s a crim she can’t be with him

so Only way they can work is if he’s undercover
