Welcome one and all to those who are watching series 6 as it is released in the US.

Here's a place to discuss everything we've seen so far, but please don't post spoilers. If they haven't been broadcast, they are spoilers. I don't care if you've read about it online/ in a magazine.

Under his eye.

I thought Aunt Lydia’s epiphany was a bit sudden. Gabriel/Will showed his true colours as we thought. Did the Handmaids kill the commanders and rush back to bed or are they off to kill the commanders after Aunt Lydia let them go - was a bit confused. I think June will kill Nick in true Greek tragedy style.

At the end of the previous episode where they were planning it all - June smuggled the blades into the Red Centre, Joseph smuggled the sedative for Rita to use in the wedding cake.

Sorry, I wasn't clear. I know June smuggled it all in, but they took them out of a sleeve and passed them down the line.who had them all up their sleeve?

Oh wait. NVM. I think i just worked it out Blush

I'm not sure about this plan to be honest. It seems a bit crap.

All the knife passing (sewn into the dresses by Moira/June) - it was all a bit visible, could have been passed sleeve into sleeve.

The cake FGS - please tell me what sedative can be mixed into a huge cake evenly, survive baking and then will act on everyone, despite their size, age or medical condition at the same time.

Where are they all running off to? Do they have an exit strategy?

Why did they let the soldier go? They could have rushed him. It's going to take him seconds to sound the alarm, then they all get picked up and hanged.

Yes it's a story, but it's stretching it thin.

So who do we think isn’t going to survive the next couple of episodes? Obviously we know Lydia lives because she’s going to be in The Testaments, I think Nick, June and Luke will too. I reckon Moira will go as a way to fuel Junes rage even further and Lawrence will sacrifice himself whilst hopefully getting Janine and Charlotte
out because it’s what Eleanor would want him to do in that situation.

I can’t make my mind up about Serena, she’s been a horrible, horrible, wicked person but I don’t think she’ll die. I could see her being made a handmaid after she kills Wharton. Having one of the last shots of the series being Serena in the red dress having the wings put on would be iconic.

hattymattie · 14/05/2025 07:55

Why did Gabriel let Serena go suddenly? Does he think she’ll come back? Too late to prove you’re a good guy.
Good point about letting the soldier go.

hattymattie · 14/05/2025 08:06

I really want Cdr Lawrence to live - he is such a brilliant character - I expect he’s for the chop though.

user1471538275 · 14/05/2025 08:35

I also think Lawrence will die protecting the handmaiden's - I think he's hoping for redemption.

For the testaments to work, June needs to die and I think she will. I think Nick will die too.

Janine and Charlotte have to live. They just do. I'm not sure about Moira - she has real reason to kill, but she struggled to adapt outside Gilead, will this help?

I really like the idea of Serena being made a handmaid (because I think they will be short of them) - having her child taken from her and truly understanding what she did to others. Great idea for final scene - the last episode is called 'The Handmaid's tale' - so!

Styleseeker65 · 14/05/2025 10:22

So sad there are only 2 eps left. Thought this one was a bit weak compared to the previous 2 but still good. Loved Wharton turning evil.

To the person above- The handmaids in the red centre haven’t been assigned to a household yet so it’s the ones assigned to a commander that are killing them.

user1471538275 · 14/05/2025 16:05

So what was the role of the Red centre handmaidens? Why were they dressed? - Ready to go? Ready for what?

June didn’t die in the testaments.

She was reunited with Hannah and Nicole at the end.

Didntask · 14/05/2025 17:56

When Serena was addressing the handmaids at the wedding reception - did she know June was there? 🤔

I thought she died. But as this is meant to be spoiler free I'm not sure we should discuss The Testaments.

For anyone who’s read it a quick google will show what happened to June. .

I've also read the Testaments but clearly wasn't paying attention!

Me too. I think the only thing that sticks in my mind is the pearl girls bet the outfits for them will be fab!

hattymattie · 15/05/2025 11:41

I thought they were reunited with June at the end of the Testaments. At least that’s how I read it.

Daisiesandtulips · 15/05/2025 11:48

Watched episode 8.

I thought that it was very unbelievable, but I still loved it.

The way Serena was allowed to just leave. The way the guard at the Red Centre just stood there. The way the handmaids were roaming the streets freely. What happened to Commander Bells wife and Martha? Did he have no security?

Ah well, I will suspend belief for my favourite show of all time.

Cant believe that there’s only one episode left.

It was a bit all over the place.

I hope Lawrence survives, maybe June will have a say seeing he has helped her along the way. Not sure about Nick though, she didn't seem furious with him when she saw him at the church. You know that look, the overdone one ...😂

Sauvin · 15/05/2025 14:37

Is The Testaments relevant though? The TV series has long since left the book behind so they don’t have to make it consistent. A good TV ending is more important, no?

They were and their ‘two fathers’

Sumthingsweet · 16/05/2025 20:13

Also what did they do with the blades loved the cake poisoning lol I’d like to watch this episode again just to see Aunt Lid giving the fans what they needed ! Great episode

Rita used the poisoning in the wedding cake to make the commanders pass out at home, all the assigned handmaid's took the blades home to kill the commanders in their drugged induced sleep.
