Ah I loved it. The train! Serena is just so unlikeable. Remember when she thought Nichole was her child and would move heaven and earth for her... Now she's just any other baby.

Obviously it was clear that June was going to leave Nichole/Holly and return - but it's so frustrating to watch it happen.

When June's Mum appeared from the dead, I thought 'handy babysitter' for June to go back to Gilead.

Episode 3 Serena was definitely the real Serena.

Serena is meant to be really intelligent isn't she? And yet, despite seeing what Gilead could do, still thinks going to New Bethlehem is a good idea and that she's going to some kind of leader there.

What's the deal with New Bethlehem anyway? I know they say they won't be like Gilead, but I just don't trust them.

So true about Serena being unlikeable she truly is a selfish cow with an exaggerated air of self importance lol

i am looking forward to seeing more of Aunt Lydia and Janine - I’m thinking there’s sones sort of Trauma bonding between these two . Really fascinating !

Rose's father seemed a bit non-committal about there being other ones, didn't he? Serena is arrogant enough to think that she can turn Gilead back to her original plan. There was no way she was going to be happy farming for the rest of her life.

What Is New Bethlehem?
Season 5 introduced Commander Lawrence’s concept of New Bethlehem — a reformed version of Gilead that treats its residents more humanely by eliminating the Handmaid role, along with most of Gilead’s other oppressive practices.
It’s no secret that Lawrence has long despised what Gilead has become — especially after the death of his wife, Eleanor — but his motivation to make New Bethlehem a success seems to be multifaceted. Not only does moving to New Bethlehem physically separate him from Gilead and create an opportunity for economic gain, but this new community might just give Lawrence the redemption arc he seems to want deep down.
Though New Bethlehem’s location is still unknown at this point, the new community plays a major role in Season 6 as it begins to pick up traction and global recognition

Ah! Here you are! I couldn’t wait till May to watch, I’m very interested to see how this ends. Enjoying it very much so far! Episode 4 definitely felt like the calm before the storm.

Loving Josh Charles and his character this season. Serena has been love bombed! Does she know what Nick was up to in No man's Land and giving him a head's up to deal with the guardian in a coma.

Loved this week's episode, finally some action!
DS and I started discussing whether being a handmaid or a jezebel would be worse about 2 mins before June and Moira had the same discussion. We came to the conclusion that they are both awful for different reasons, and likewise both have some kind of "positive". Not actually a positive, but for eg the jezebels seem to have access to better food, alcohol and cigarettes. Plus they can sing, dance and look to be having fun at times. The handmaids get raped less often. So neither is actually a good thing really, but both have an element the other doesn't.

And, just putting this out there, I have the hugest crush on Janine in this series. She's giving serious sexy pirate!

I enjoyed this week. Looking forward to seeing what Wharton is actually up too! I can’t decide if he’s a deep fake Mayday plant or if he’s going to whip the rug out so fast from under Serena her head will spin. Loved the argument between Moira and June, they wouldn’t have had half the trouble they ended up with if they had saved it for the truck ride home though 😂😂. I really want Janine to get out and save the day doing it. Lord knows she deserves it! And Lawrence! What’s he going to do now? I can’t believe there are only 5 episodes left!

I want Janine to be reunited with Angela. Out of all the characters I don't want her to die. Her whole life has been shit. She deserves some chance at happiness.

I think Moira really wants to do some damage to the commanders at Jezebels, whilst making sure the girls there are rescued. I think she needs to see that happen to heal.

I agree June and Moira really needed to put a hold on their conversation until the ride home.

I'm torn between believing Serena is massively being played or whether she is actually seen as an asset - there have been comments about virility being prized highly amongst the commanders, so stuffing her full of children might be viewed as the ultimate status symbol (also 'being able to handle her') or whether she is totally delusional as to the real hatred of women in the world she helped build and that ultimately that will be her downfall.

I really loved the look on Lawrence's face when he saw June again.
